Vitosha Guest Haus

Very calm and private.

I love staying here (I think I've been here about 4 times): the owners are very accomodating and the place is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, and the fireplace is a beautiful touch! The breakfast was good (excellent corn fritters) but my eggs were a bit cool. I didn't have time to ask them to warm it up.

With all of the Home Coming activities the Vitosha offers a reprieve from the revelry. Our suite was very clean and quiet. Be prepared to savor the breakfast fare.

I made plans secretly to whisk my wife off for a weekend jaunt somewhere at least an hour away from home. Reservations set, we started our little getaway. Even though we had a very distasteful and deplorable experience at Ann Arbor's Chop House; which colored the evening a dull seething, our stay at Vitosha made the trip worthwhile. The rooms, the service, the food and camaraderie were exemplary. My wife and I have plan again to stay there while spending a weekend in Ann Arbor. A truly awesome B&B.

The room was beautiful and the location was very convenient. Our room was changed three times from the initial booking. The room we received was not exactly what we thought we would get but was beautiful none the less. Our breakfast order was not correct either but the staff was very quick to correct the error and bring us a delicious meal. All things said, it was a wonderful visit and I would definitely stay at the Vitosha Guest Haus again.

At $30 cheaper than the cheapest hotel room in the area, the Garden Room was the pinnacle of value. The room was beautiful, as was the grounds. Loved the gas fireplace and spent some time in the gardens. The breakfast was unusual, high quality, and delicious. Seriously, try the cardamon espresso! The only inconvenience was when I tried to check out and leave. Trying to track down someone so that I could leave my keys while also locking the door behind me was a bit tough.

With a family of 5, Vitosha allowed us to not only have a place to rest together at a great price but to have an experience and shared memories. My children loved the experience and we will be back.

My wife and I visited our daughter and her boyfriend in Ann Arbor for a delayed holiday celebration. We chose Vitosha Guest House because we stayed there one other time. The accommodations, for people like us, were outstanding. Our room, the garden room, is large but cozy. We are used to a king size bed at home, but found the double bed fun, cozy and comfortable. The heat in the tiled floor is really nice when visiting during cold weather. I'm not really a breakfast at the table kind of person, so Linda (my wife) kind of has to press me to join her. The food is very well prepared as well as being delicious and varied. The most notable thing we have found during both of our stays is the intangible of having breakfast with other guests who have chosen Vitosha. This stay we met Anna and Jacob. Anna was getting ready to leave for Kenya with a Fullbright scholarship in hand to study creative writing. Jacob works in energy sustainability in the detroit area. Our conversations made the dining experience more than just great food. we had a similar experience the last time we visited Vitosha. For us, Vitosha is a great, great place to stay.

the Vitosha Guesthouse has old-world feel and charm surrounding you the moment you step on the grounds. the lodging is superb and the breakfast can be summed up in one word: Delectable! Great location, too.

Vitosha has special atmosphere, artistically decorated and furnished rooms and excellent breakfasts. The owner is an artist and her very fine taste and vision shows throughout this elegant old home. Walkable to University of Michigan, which is great convenience.

Having stayed at Vitosha 3 times in the past 3 years, I am glad my husband has joined me on our weekend trip to visit our son. This inn has character and comfort far beyond what you might expect and the breakfast, too, is outstanding. I give it my highest recommendations!

Vitosha was unique and charming. Though our stay was brief I can't give kudos enough to the operation. The Courtyard room was romantic and we were within a comfortable biking distance of downtown Ann Arbor. Our breakfast was a real dish and I was served a very hearty portion of Arab Espresso. Leaves every desire fulfilled.

This was a great weekend stay. The rooms were lovely and the breakfasts were great. There was no common meeting room so groups kept to their rooms.

Ideal place for a short stay in Ann Arbor. Friendly, cosy, very quite and confortable. Bus near by but for those who like enjoy the town, Vitosha Guest Haus is only a 30 minutes walk from the central campus. I just hope I'll have another opportunity to spend a few days here again...

A very beautiful B&B with European styling. A great place to get away without flying 3,000 miles to experience old world class. Perfect for romantic getaways!

There is no place quite like Vitosha. The hundred year old house exudes character and almost-literary richness in every one of it's many odd corners. The breakfasts are astoundingly good, and Kei, the host, is a font of cultural information and history.

This is a special inn. It is a contradiction in motion, yet comfortable, inviting, and most of all, memorable. The rooms have everything you need, and your eyes are filled with details- Irish quilt, lace curtains, slate (heated) floors, medieval art, a German beer mug, cuckoo clock with a moose- and it all feels upscale. The breakfast is delicious with a unique menu and the hostess is helpful and really knows the area. Thumbs up!!

This place is amazing. Decoration and service are impeccable and beyond anything I have received in the states, or in Europe!

Very charming B&B in Ann Arbor and beautiful mansion - line street. Room was lovely (bed was a bit squeaky); breakfast nice. We also stayed at Labyrinth B&B in MI.

A lovely stay at Vitosha. Their afternoon tea was charming and our room was blissful. the garden sang with birds and the crisp breezes were perfect!

I loved staying here--great conversation around the breakfast table, a fireplace in my room for the chilly evening. I just wish I'd been able to stay longer! The owners/staff were wonderful people and very helpful! Will stay again if I can!

Service was excellent in every way.

The rooms and service were amazing. Furnishings were authentic and understated from the thick quilts on the beds, working antique phone to the heated slate floors. We truly felt that we had stepped back in time to a Bavarian or German Guest House. Our bed was firm, but a check of other rooms found beds that were soft. We sleep at home around 62, Vitosha was quite a bit warmer. The rooms were not cluttered, but neat, and very relaxing. The innkeeper was very polite, and genuinely interested in our comfort, offering to serve us any way she could. Her staff was wonderful. The food could not have been better. All of it seemed home made, not from pre-packaged foodstuffs. All elegantly served in the dining room with fresh flowers, linens and fine china. We loved the coffee - it reminded me of Starbucks or other like coffee houses - rich and full bodied. This was by far the best B & B where we have stayed.
