    2013 awesome weekend getaway

    April 29, 2013

We enjoyed an awesome B & B experience at Black River Inn!! We wanted to get away for my husband's birthday, and enjoyed our first visit in 2013 to the west side of this beautiful state. Black River was the perfect choice! The room was beautiful, the food beyond delicious!! Bob and Judy have excellent attention to detail in everything they do. We like the trail nearby and want to stay again at this gorgeous and tranquil, country setting that's conveniently close to town.

    A cold weekend made warm

    April 29, 2012

My wife and I visited the Black River Inn on a cold windy weekend in April. Despite the cold temperatures outside the hospitality and comfy accomodations more than made up for it. We were greated warmly by Bob and Judine who made us feel right at home. We share a bottle of wine and lots of great conversation. Breakfasts were fabulous. We were even greeted by a hen turkey outside the breakfast nook. It was wonderful watching Bob and Judine working together on breakfast and making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. This was our first anniversary and first time at a B&B. Doubt we will stay any other place in the South Haven area. We stayed in the Lake Placid room and found it very comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. We hope to try another of their wonderful themed rooms. Thank you Bob and Judine for such a memorable weekend. We came in as guests and left as friends.

    Quaint and Cozy

    November 06, 2011

My Fiance and I decided to stay here for a romantic weekend getaway in early November. The inn is a less than a two minute walk from the Kal-Haven trail. This trail is so surreal and peaceful. The fall leaves, the covered bridge, the black river, the hidden gazebos along a backdrop of blueberry fields and corn fields. Upon our return from our hike - Judine had yet again warm chocolate chip cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and pink lemonade waiting for us. When we were ready to leave for our dinner, Bob had directions already written out for us to take. The service and hospitality these two give is impeccable. Aside from the wonderful breakfasts, scenery, and friendly atmosphere, the accommodations were top notch. Newly renovated rooms, very spacious, and clean. We stayed in the St. Moritz suite, which included an extra large Jacuzzi tub and electric fireplace. The room was extremely nice and cozy to the point we did not want to leave. The bed was the MOST comfortable bed I've slept in (definitely beats the Hilton) king size and extra soft sheets. We also watched a movie in our room which we selected from their DVD collection. Robes and slippers were available and very useful - as the floor in the bathroom tended to get chilly. The house is set on a hilltop with a gazebo in the backyard. The grounds are very nicely kept and decorated for the season. The breakfast nook is very inviting and they also have a reading room upstairs and downstairs. The experience here was one that my fiance and I will never forget. A definite must for South Haven and a place we will return to in the future.

    Absolutely Wonderful!

    September 27, 2011

The Black River Inn Bed & Breakfast exceeded all of our expectations for a wonderful 2 night getaway to celebrate our anniversary. The home was very clean, the breakfasts outstanding. We stayed up late Saturday night enjoying the company of Bob & Judine. They are great inn keepers who obviously pay attention to every detail from the local, fresh produce used in the breakfasts to the aromatherapy oils for the therapy spa tub. The suggestions they gave for places to eat & things to do were excellent. We stayed in the St. Moritz suite & the bed was so comfortable. It felt like we were sleeping on a cloud! We have stayed at several b&bs & this is our new favorite!

Our Stay at the Black River INN

    June 16, 2011

We stayed at the Black River Inn for 2 nights. We stayed in the St Moritz Suite. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast was very good. The innkeepers were friendly. The hiking trail behind the inn was fantastic. It was such a beautiful morning walk for my husband and I. What we liked about it was that it was away from town which made it so peaceful and relaxing. It also had a huge therapeutic tub in the room. Loved it! The decor was beautiful and it was very clean. We would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quite getaway. You'll love it!
