Huron House

My boyfriend and I decided to make the three hour drive to stay there because the room just looked so gorgeous and it was Valentine's Day. Everything was wonderful, the jacuzzi, the bed, the fireplace, the view. All the rooms looked beautiful and they were all reasonably priced. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne for Valentine's Day. We will be back in the summer time and we'll stay for more than one night next time! I recommend this to any couple looking for a nice quiet getaway!

This was not our first stay at the Huron House so we pretty much knew what to expect and as usual we were not disappointed,the room was fantastic,the hot tub very enjoyable on a cold clear winter night and the morning breakfast was excellent.We will return.

My husband and I celebrated our 35Th wedding anniversary at Huron House. Our daughter and son-in-law had stayed at here a couple of times in the last 8-9 years and recommended it to us. We booked our room for two nights and received a free upgrade to the Iosco room. The room was fantastic, nicely decorated and very comfortable. There was a remote controlled gas fireplace. Secluded deck and 2 person hot tub. A very comfortable king size bed a leather couch and wonderful breakfast served to the room each morning. The staff was amazing and attentive. There wasn't any snow on the ground or falling..... but we can't blame the Huron House for that! We highly recommend this B&B for a relaxing get-a-way.

I have been to this bed and breakfast twice. Each time i go, it exceeds my expectations. What a wonderful place to go to get away!!

The rooms are fantastic from the king size sleigh bed to the gas fireplace—first class. I lucked out and had a 2-person hot tub on my secluded outside balcony—perfect relaxing ending to a busy day. The views of Lake Huron with the water crashing over the frozen waves on the shoreline are wonderfully Pure Michigan. Then to have homemade breakfast brought to my room each day on a tray, I was in heaven. If you have not been to the Sunrise Coast of Michigan, jump in your car and go—you will not regret it.

My Fiancé and I were looking for somewhere to get away for the weekend and we found this bed and breakfast online. After reading so many great reviews, we booked the Alabaster room. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendliest woman who checked us in and asked what time we would like breakfast delivered to our room. She then showed us to our room and showed us how to work the hot tub (we loved the hot tub!). I couldn’t believe how clean the room was! Every morning they would leave breakfast outside our door. The food was so delicious (french toast was our favorite). It was just perfect being able to eat in bed with the fireplace going. Very cozy! Even though we were there in the winter, the view was just gorgeous. We had such a romantic and relaxing stay. On our second night there, my fiancé PROPOSED to me in front of the fireplace that was in our room!!! It was perfect and so romantic! I just can't say enough good things about this place! We will defiantly be back!! Oh and if you’re looking for a nice restaurant to have dinner at, Woodland Steakhouse in East Tawas (about 10-15 min away) is so good! I had the prime rib and my fiancé had the surf n turf.

We stayed here for a short honeymoon and it was beautiful. We never left our room. Our room was the Oscoda room.

Everything about our stay at the Huron House was exceptional. The hospitality, the privacy, the accomodations, the food - all of it was nothing less than the best. It's truly a remarkable place to retreat, relax and enjoy yourself. We've already started planning for our next visit. And, the pottery for sale in the reception area makes a wonderful keepsake of a memorable stay. I highly recommend the Huron House.

I spent two nights in the Huron Room and was absolutely love it. The Huron House B& B was very accommodating and comfortable, and my husband and I had a very memorable experience. The room was pristine and clean, and had a gorgeous view of the beach and lake. The jacuzzi and fireplace added a nice touch and the bed was incredibly comfortable! Cable and internet service was perfect, and the staff was nice and helpful. We will certainly be back next summer.

My husband and I had a lovely time at The Huron House. Despite the fact that it was in the 20's, the rooms are so warm with the vents all around the floor, we were able to leave the window open all night and listen to the lake. The breakfast was very well put together and the outdoor hot tub was great. We will be recommending to our family and friends.

I planned this trip to put the romance back into our 17 year marriage and did I get my moneys worth. The look an my wifes face was priceless. I kept the trip location a secret for 3 months, even when she questioned how much longer on our 2 hour drive. Rooms super clean, she never pulled out the clorox wipes. Food great. Romance factor 1000. Room was large and comfortable love the fireplace. Bed was a little too soft but still liked it. Really have my work cut out for me for our next anniversary.

The room was beautiful...It was a two night stay for my guy for his Christmas present. I wanted to give him something special. The fireplace and hottub were fantastic. It was so peaceful and cozy! We enjoyed so much time together alone....No work, No kids, No phones. When breakfast was brought to our room in the morning it took my breath away. We have never seen so much put into a meal before. It was almost to pretty to eat!!! lol As for us....we already have reservations for this summer and can't wait to go back again!

We stayed in the Sunrise Suite and had an amazing weekend. One of the highlights was sitting in the hot tub watching the moon rise over Lake Huron while it was about 20 degrees out.

This was our second stay with Huron House and again we fell in love with it! This is a wonderful place to have a romantic adult getaway! Service is exceptional, breakfast was wonderful and our room was beautiful. We stayed 2 nights, used the hot tub and the cozy fireplace both days. If the weather was warmer, we would have used the private waterfront deck available to us. We are definitely going to have to come back when it's warmer so we can enjoy the private beach! I recommend the Huron House VERY HIGHLY!

Stayed for the 4th time at the B&B and stayed in a different room. Loved the whole experience. Both my husband and myself were down with a cold and were not disturbed at all. The hot tub felt terrific being outside. Will return again and again. Krohn family, Farmington Hills, MI

We just spent two night there and it was amazing. Very romantic and 4 star.

As soon as we pulled up I was impressed with landscaping, so cute. The innkeeper was energized and seemed very excited to see us. Since the place wasn't fully booked she had told us they had another room available that didn't show up when I booked online. This new room was a little bit bigger, had a fireplace, and was much closer to the water. So of course we chose that room instead for no extra charge. The huge king size bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. The view was amazing, just beach and water. The gas fireplace warmed the room right up. The jacuzzi was absolutely incredible when we lit candles all around enjoying the complimentary bottle of champagne they provided for my birthday. Breakfast was served right on time. When you check in they ask when you would like it sent to your room. They knock and leave it outside your door and when you're done you just put it back out. The first morning they served us a delicious egg quiche with toast and a nice variety of fruits with orange juice and coffee. The next morning it was a soft croissant covered in caramel and walnuts with the same variety of fruits with juice and coffee. We didn't really run into the other patrons during our stay besides when we went into the lobby to check out the menus of the local restaurants and hearing them come and go through the front door. We went to Tait's just up the road which I highly recommend! The weather was very beautiful for late November so we went for a few walks on the beach, you can walk as far as you want really. It was absolutely lovely, everything I was looking for- a nice room, jacuzzi, fireplace, lakefront. I'm sure Oscoda would have much more to offer other times of the year but it gave me exactly what I needed, peace and quiet to relax. Will definitely keep Huron House in mind for the summer.

Our 2-night stay was beautiful from the moment we arrived. The inn-keeper was extremely sweet, and went out of her way to welcome us, show us around, and make sure we had everything we needed. (She also upgraded our room at no cost due to a cancellation!) We stayed in the "Tawas" room and it was stunning: beautifully furnished and decorated, immaculately clean, with an in-room jacuzzi, fireplace, gorgeous view of the lake, and a private deck. When we arrived there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us on the glass-topped coffee table, along with tea-light candles and other romantic/cozy touches. Breakfast arrived both mornings on a beautifully arranged tray along with hot coffee (with fresh cream and sugar on the side), orange juice and fresh fruit, and was delicious. I recommend Huron House to anyone looking for a quiet, romantic, relaxing and picturesque getaway. I will definitely be returning (we regretted having to leave after only 2 nights!) and recommending Huron House to friends!

We go there twice a year, every time is great. Rooms are fantastic, service is great and very private. We plan on going every year.

This was our second time at the Huron House. We were delighted to find that the room we stayed in (same as the first time) has been redecorated. It was just beautiful. Beverly was very quick to respond to my emails and a lovely hostess. This is our new "get away from it all" place when we need some quiet time together.

We truly enjoyed our 2 night stay in the Moon Shadow suite. Very comfortable and spacious. Perfect for a romantic getaway. We can't wait to return.

I love the Huron House, it's beautiful, clean, the owners are friendly and most of all it's RELAXING! We just had our second visit their and it was perfect. I will be back again! I recommend the Huron House to everyone I know:)

The view was outstanding. They accommodated us over an above what was expected and we were very appreciative of that--thank you Bev-. The only thing we missed was having a gathering with all the people there which is tradition of all the other B & B's we've stayed at. Even if it was a Fri night mixer that would be fun. Listening to the waves at night was the best! And the sunrises were spectacular. A fabulous place to stay. We recommend it for newlyweds and marriage veterans alike! We celebrated our 15 year anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope to come back again.

Another outstanding weekend away with my wife at the Huron House.

I came home on my two week leave from Afghanistan and wanted to surprise my wife. Just her and I for a night. I was just as surprised as she was when we got our room. This was the first time either of us had gone to a Bed and Breakfast. The room we stayed in (Tawas) was immaculate. It was very cozy, yet spacious with a fireplace and jacquzzi. The view of the lake was awesome. The owners deliver breakfast to your door at the the time you specify. They had even left a bottle of champagne and glasses for us which was very sweet of them. Needless to say, we will be going there again in the near future (when I return from deployment) and plan on staying a couple nights. I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good service, great rooms and a relaxing atmosphere for a good price.

Entering huron house we were met by staff.a very friendly and outgoing person.made us feel very comforable and at ease.really like it.ask us if we ever been to oscoda before.i said yes.my husband and i use to stay at manor house.its close.also staff told us places near by to eat.explain breakfast.and times.show us our room.let her know if we needed anything.just let her know.huron house will be my weekend get away.breakfast was amazing.i would recomond huron house to my friends and family.thankyou.

Had a lovely visit. would stay again, but not in 1st floor rooms. A bit noisy and less private than others. Room itself was great and service was wonderful. While breakfast was delicious, it was nearly the same both days. I'd recommend mixing up the menu for weekend visitors. Overall very pleased

We stayed in the Sunrise Room on 10/4/11 and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place. You'd think you were directly on the ocean without the surf. The room was lovely, large and inviting with a fireplace that added to it all. The breakfast was delicious and ample! Since we're in the "business" (www.vrbo.com/362574) we're particular about where we stay and we couldn't have been more pleased with the Huron House!

We booked a room here for our 4 year anniversary! It was such a nice romantic getaway. The view was amazing! We took a walk on the beach, put a fire on in our room, and sat in our relaxing personal hot tub outside our room that overlooked the beach. It was perfect!

The title says it all!! The rooms are very clean, up-dated and the over all experince was out-standing. We stand for 3 nites in 2 different rooms. They both were wonderful. Love the room on the main floor, step off the porch, right onto the beach. The landscaping is top notch also. Would recomend to any person to try out the experince themselves.

Once again, a fantastic experience. Even though we were there at an off time of year, the hosts were very nice, the views and hot tub just perfect, and the breakfast was delicious

We recently stayed at Huron House for a romantic 3 day getaway. What an outstanding place to relax and unwind. The place is right on Lake Huron with miles of beach to walk. You can hear the waves crashing from your room. The room was exceptionally clean and we had breakfast delivered to our room every morning. Food was great. The food was not too much to eat and filled up both me and my wife. For those of you who may be looking for a dining area to eat with others and have large homecooked meals, this is not the place. With that being said, Huron House was perfect for the both of us and plan on returning in June for our 10th anniversary. Thank You Huron House for a great three day break from reality.

Walked Friday night and again Sunday morning and collected a total of 60 pieces of beach glass. Is that normal, or hasn't the beach been "combed" lately? we were happily suprised at the details during our one night stay at huron house...fireplace, hot tub, and a bottle of wine waiting for us...the fresh croussants for breakfast and the surnrise over lake huron...was icing on the cake.

You can't beat the views from the Moon Shadow room. In the morning you get to watch the sunrise over Lake Huron from bed. At night you have a fabulous view of the stars and moon over the water from the private hot tub on the deck. The hot tub sit a little beneath a large tree which adds to the feeling of privacy. This is our second visit to the Huron House and we will go back again. Great location, great food and very friendly and helpful staff.

We love to stay our Huron House. The rooms are luxurious and restful. Each one is decorated beautifully. We love to sleep with the window open a crack so we can hear the waves. The staff is very welcoming, but then--as we appreciate on a romantic getaway--they disappear (unless you need something). The breakfasts are superb and delivered at the time we specify, with just a knock at the door to let us know it has arrived. Huron House is pure relaxation!

A perfect hub for adventure in the Tawas and Oscoda area. Canoe down the Ausabo river in the fall for the only way to see the colors. Hike the trails and chat with the fisherman bringing in beautifu Coho and Trout. Shop the tawas downtown district and top the day with ice cream.

Our stay at the Huron House was romantic and beautiful in every way possible. Our pleasant stay started the moment we checked in and were showed to our room, until the last reluctant minute we checked out. We didn't want to go home......such a relaxing experience that exceeded our expectations with all the careful attention to every detail.

My husband & I stayed for 2 nights at the Huron House. We stayed in the Moonshadow room & the Oscoda room. Both were very pretty. We preferred the Moonshadow room due to its view & outdoor hot tub however the Oscoda room has an amazing view of Lake Huron as well. The rooms were beautifully decorated & clean. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Very peaceful & quiet. It was a great place to relax. We will definitely be back again!

My wife and I did a B&B vacation through Northern Michigan in September of 2011. Bed and Breakfasts were new to us so we really didn't know what to expect. Huron House was our 1st stop and BLEW us away. Our room had all we could ask for and then some. We will go back!!

We stayed for two nights overlooking beautiful Lake Huron. It was quiet, stunning view, and very romantic. Simply whisked us away from life. We plan to return again soon!

Our marriage was very much revived during this stay! Something about the sound and sight of the water just revived in me feelings I thought were long gone! The view was mesmerizing...could just sit and look at the view and be completely happy...and we did and were! I would recommend this place to any married couple as a MUST for time to totally focus on each other with no distractions! The room is so beautifully decorated...just luxurious and cozy and romantic all at the same time. I miss the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub, but mostly the VIEW...so beautiful! We knew we had to come back, so we booked another stay in June of 2012!

I wish we had found this place YEARS ago! What a beautiful setting, and everything was PERFECT! We felt like royalty. Rarely am I comfortable in hotels or condos without feeling like I need to disinfect everything. I did not feel this way at all. Everything was impeccable. Booked a few days at the huron house for my husbands birthday recently, we just loved our stay. When we got there there was champagne waiting for us! The room was beautiful, clean, and private - I loved the private entry and private deck with hot tub! The view was awesome, and the beach was clean and sandy. Service was excellent and the breakfast delivered to the room in the morning was great! Would recommend for a quiet, romantic getaway

We stayed here for our 19 year wedding anniversary during September of 2011. For many years we stayed at another bed & breakfast that was just up the street but recently closed. During our search for a new location we found the Huron House..... and we're glad we did. The staff is 100% attentive. Friendly from check-in to check-out and always eager to help. Our room was incredible.... how many places can you fall asleep listening to the crashing of waves? We stayed in a second floor room and enjoyed the moon on the water from our balcony for hours. The entire property is also very clean. The landscaping is beautiful with flowers everywhere. Also, the local chipmunk population will keep you entertained! We will definitely be back, we've found a new September hangout.

We were given a stay at Huron House as a Christmas gift by my daughter and son. Unfortunately, my son passed away on the 13th of September and our reservations were for the 21st. I wrestled if it were proper and right to go so shortly after his passing and decided it was what he would want us to to. And so delighted that we did that I have nothing but positive things to say about the Huron House. It is w/o a doubt the cleanest place we have ever stay, everything in it's place and so tastefully decorated. Lake Huron is a few steps away from the door and presents the most amazing sun rises I have ever experienced. The food outstand and left at your door should you so desire. Registering was a snap and the staff the most considerate and kindest I have ever seen. I can honestly say, I cannot say A BAD THING ABOUT HURON HOUSE. It is outstanding and I have already hinted to my daughter how much we enjoyed our stay and what a nice Christmas gift it would be this year (so we can go back in 2012.) Just would like to say a Big Thank you for making our stay so special especially at the saddest time of my life. Oh nearly forgot, the grounds are like they are out of Home Beautiful, flowers, everywhere and in every container conceivable. They even threw in Alvin the Chipmunk and an array of hummingbirds. So appreciated our stay. Cannot say enough positive things about Huron House. Loved it.

My husband and I always enjoy our stay at the Huron House. It is so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoy their flower garden area and even more so that the garden area is just steps away from the beach and Lake Huron. The only request that I can think of is possibly another night stand with a lamp in the Alabaster Room. I know that your goal is to present an inviting ambiance for couples but my husband and I are in the over 60 age range and a little additional lightning would make it perfect. While staying a the Huron House we had dinner at one of the restaurants in town. The waitress asked if we were staying at the Huron House and we commented yes but asked how she knew that we were staying there. She commented that all of the couples that she has served are pleasant and happy. Thanks to you and your staff for making our weekend a pleasant memory at the Huron House.

My husband and I were looking forward to a couple of days of R&R. What we found was more than expected! Our room was beautiful and it had an outstanding view of Lake Huron. Falling asleep to the sound of waves against the shore reminded us of being in Florida. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast a true delight! We recommend the Huron House to anyone who deserves a real treat! We can't wait to come back again!

This was our 2nd stay---and 2 days was not enough. We plan to stay 4 nights next year. By the way, The sunrises are spectactular!

We had a wonderful two night stay. The highlight was the beautiful room looking east right on the beach. The sunrise over the lake was worth waking up early to see. This is a first class Inn and the hosts were the best.

We have stayed at Huron House several times. It is a fantastic place. Everyone is very friendly. It is so peaceful. The landscaping just makes me smile! The view of Lake Huron is beautiful. It has always been extremely clean and neat. We will definately go back.

My wife and I decided to spend our 6th anniversary at the Huron House. This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It was a wonderful experience. We plan on staying again some time soon.

This is one of the best B&B we have ever visited. Clean, clean , clean...was not expecting it to be so nice. The view of Lake Huron was terrific and the deck was a great place to sit and watch the sunrise. Everyone was so pleasant ...will go back for sure!

We stayed in Moon Shadow room and the view was awesome! We also checked out another couple of rooms and they were equally beautiful. Our room had an outdoor hottub, which was great in the cool weather. We had excellent service and anytime we needed something they staff helped. It was kind of a pain to run down the front office each time since there are no phones in the rooms. We had to ask for something a few different times. The value was decent for the room size, fireplace, hot tub and beach front view. Breakfast was great but not enough for my boyfriend. We would consider going back again.

We came for one night and when we left we booked our next visit in july for two nights! People were very friendly, the rooms were clean, the beach was great, plenty of seating outside or on the beach. We won't even look for anthor place to stay in Oscoda.

We have stayed at several B&B's and The Huron House is the only one we keep returning to. The gardens are lovely and the rooms are spotless. Perfect getaway.

My stay was wonderful. They are so friendly and do whatever they can to make your stay great. The rooms, garden, deck by the water all fabulous. Breakfast is brought to your room and is good, although could use a little more seasoning in the quiche, it was still good. ONLY thing that would improve is if they were 100% smoke free property. People are allowed to smoke on the deck and on there balconies and patios so their smoke comes in the rooms.

Spent 2 nites in the tawas room, perfect room, outside deck was really cool. room nice and spacious everything about the room was nice. Somehow though we could hear the people up above us moving around. Wasnt quite sure what the noise was, but it was annoying and never ending. Breakfast was a bit disapointing. It would have been nice to have a menu to pick from, even if it was only basic. The beach was very nice and private. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but its not likely that we would return. But it's not because we didn't find the place 1st rate, its because there are other options in oscoda that are a better value for the money!

This was our 3rd time at Huron House. The rooms have always been very clean. Didn't care for the room we were in this time. Highbanks- tad bit too small for the price and not a lot of privacy. We've been to other B&B's where you get a much bigger breakfast. But all in all, we will be back.

We recently stayed at the Huron House for the first time. We were very impressed. The rooms were large and very clean. The staff was friendly and breakfast was excellent both mornings we were there. We have already made reservations to go back next year.

We stayed in the Moon Shadow room in August 2011 and were blown away by the view. If we laid sideways on the bed and gazed out the windows, all we could see was water and all we could hear was the crashing of the waves. Just a quick trip down the stairs and across the deck, and we were walking on the beach. The rooms were immaculate - not a speck of dust to be found - and the beds were huge and luxurious. Overall, it was an incredibly relaxing experience. We will definitely go back.

This was our fourth stay at the Huron House. And again, it was perfect. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. We were in a second floor room with a porch overlooking Lake Huron. With the windows open at night, you can hear the waves lapping on the shore. It is truly a wonderful experience. The breakfast is served right to your door at the time that you determine. The staff is very caring and friendly. A stay at the Huron House has become at least an annual requirement for us. It is our absolute favorite B and B.

What a beautiful and relaxing place to spend a day or a week or more. It sure beats traveling all over. For us, we could not vacation at a better place. The service, the room, the quiet atmosphere and the beach are great.

We had a lovely time at the Huron House. Everything was absolutely perfect, including the outdoor hot tub, gardens, breakfasts, sandy beach, and the beautiful view. We couldn't have asked for a greater getaway!

We have spent our last two anniversaries at Huron House. The rooms are pure luxuary and relaxation. You can't find a better place on the water to enjoy the beach and time alone for romance. The staff provide excellent service, are friendly and the breakfast served to your room is the best. We would recommend Huron House for every couple to leave behind the everyday worries and reconnect. Well worth every penny!!

We have made it an annual getaway to visit the Huron House. It is a very relaxing intimate celebration for our anniversary each year. The food is always great, the room is spotless, and we were pleasantly surprised by the updates to the Iosco room! We would highly recommend a visit.

Every guest can benefit from the level of privacy and peace that the Huron House offers. My daughter and I shared a weekend retreat before the school year started and we are rejuvenated and relaxed as a result. A humorous anecdote was the resident squirrel in the oak tree by our room who vigorously harvested acorns, pelting a few in my direction, and dropping more to the little chipmunk waiting on the deck below. Few places afford this kind of reconnection with one's soul and with the heart of Nature.

Our stay at the Huron House is what I look forward to all year long! It is the one time during the year when my husband and I get to get away from it all--including three teenagers with busy schedules. I am very picky about cleanliness and the HH always exceeds my expectations! The breakfasts are fresh and delicious I just wish there were some options from which to choose daily. We continue to go back again and again because there is no other B & B in Michigan where we feel as at home as the Huron House.

I stayed for two nights in the Chevalier room. It is right on the beach and on the second floor which improves the view and eliminates the chance of footsteps being heard overhead. I was in Oscoda for a High School reunion. I hadn't been to town for 40 years and wasn't sure what I'd find or what kind of a reception I'd get so I wanted someplace where I could retreat in soothing, comfortable, privacy. Huron House was perfect. The bed was total comfort. The sound of the waves was therapeutic from the private deck, the bed, and all the way to the back of the room. Bev checked me in and showed me the room. She's friendly, enthusiastic, and smart.

The service was great and everyone was friendly! Huron House is a great way to spend a private weekend away!

The Huron House is simply outstanding. My wife and I have been there seven times over the last ten years during different seasons. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The grounds are a joy to walk through. Breakfast is always delicious and something that we do not make at home.

We loved our 3 day stay! The Serradella was beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The beaach and water were directly off our room (just yards from the water). It was a wonderful way to visit Oscoda after many years away. And the breakfasts were superb! Thank you, Ed and Terri from West Hartford CT.

This was our first time staying in this particular room that has no lake view, but our third time staying at Huron House. I truly missed the lake view---I didn't realize how much I would! But in exchange for the lack of lake view, we had both the jacuzzi tub and a hot tub and it was wonderful! The room was pristinely clean as always and breakfast was delightful! I always read reviews from people complaining about breakfast but after discussing with my husband, we both agree: the breakfast is not enormous. It is the perfect amount for those with normal appetites. Not so much as to be uncomfortably full, but enough to definitely be satisfied. We had an egg bake one morning and the always yummy croissants with caramel sauce the next. The fresh fruit is always such a treat! Huron House is one place we LOVE to go, and in fact thought we weren't going to be able to fit it in this year. We were really sad about it and beyond thrilled that we found 2 days to go! Don't miss Huron House--you won't be disappointed! (Also, make plans to have the root beer at Wiltse's Brew Pub and the London Broil and Millennium Soup at Tait's Bill of Fare! AMAZING.)

This is the second time we have been at the Huron House. We had a great time both times. The breakfasts were wonderful and the service was just as great!

We had a wonderful time at the Huron House. It was our delayed honeymoon, we were married in Jan 2011 and finally had a chance to go somewhere. We were happy with our choice. We definitely plan to return.

Huron House is always one of our favorites. Stayed there for an anniversary get-away, a very nice touch was the addition of a lovely bottle of champagne waiting in our room when we arrived. The beach is fabulous, romantic walks at sunset make this an ideal site. The only thing I would change is perhaps serve a more substantial breakfast. While I enjoy croissant and fruit, my husband was waiting for "second breakfast" - where's the meat and eggs? We will be back!

The Huron House is a perfect getaway for couples. The rooms are spacious and wonderfully decorated. The service was spectacular, as well as the food. We celebrated our anniversary during our stay, and we were greeted with a bottle of champagne. What a great touch and a great way to welcome us. We will definitely go back!

We took a "Harley meets B&B tour" around the Michigan coastline, and the Huron House was the best property on our journey - by far! They have amazing grounds, rooms and service. The beach is right outside the door, and everything is top notch. After a weeks worth of traveling an awesome coastline and staying in some very nice places, Huron House is an outstanding property! Beautiful B & B - Beach outstanding, view, room. The breakfast was delicious but not to the previous standards we have been accustomed to in Ontario, Canada. The breakfast was more of a continental style not a full breakfast. Limited choices of restaurants in area on the days we were registered. A peaceful getaway but somewhat pricey.

My wife and I stayed at Huron House for our 2nd anniversary. We had a delightful time! The service was excellent and they went above and beyond the call of duty. The view is great and the whole area was clean. We just got back yesterday and i've been telling everyone about it. Huron House is a must stay. Romantic and very relaxing!

The owners and Rosalyn thought of everything to make our Huron House experience perfect. The service, room, gardens and view of the lake were much better than expected. Our stay was very pleasant, the only issue was the air conditioner made to much noise and we did not use it, but other than that we will be going back.

My wife and I were looking to celebrate 10yrs of marriage, and we had tickets to go anywhere in the world. We are vegan, and we like biking, and we were looking for a romantic locale that could accommodate us. We found what we were looking for an more at Huron House. The room was PERFECT. Totally ideally perfect. The room was clean and spacious, and arranged perfectly. Our first night was greeted by Spumante in champagne flutes that we drank on our private deck. We watched an amazing moonrise over Lake Huron until it got just a bit chilly. We waited until the beach was nearly empty then went straight into our private hot tub. We laughed and talked as the moon grew brighter and brighter. Finally, we went inside and were greeted with a warm fireplace and a king size bed. Morning we had a simple breakfast served kindly by staff, and we laid around watching TV until it got cool enough to go for a nice bike ride up to Oscoda. Frankly, Oscoda didn't have much food we liked, but this trip wasn't for the dining. This trip was about finally taking time for the two of us. We get fine dining enough at home, but we never have time just the two of us in such a romantic setting... ever. We've done trips to exciting locations and to places where the draw was the entertainment, cuisine, culture, or nature. This was not one of those trips. The draw was each other, and Huron House was the perfect place to get away from all those distractions to focus on each other, again. We will definitely do this again. I cannot recommend Huron House highly enough.

The room was great, the view of lake Huron was limited, but ok, the breakfast was very good and the staff helped in everyway possible with directions. We were in the Ausable room, the only problem with this room is it is next to the laundry area which has noisy pipes.

We have stayed at The Huron House many times and have never been disappointed. It is always clean, the rooms are spacious, well decorated, have a fridge and micro wave and the view is priceless!! The owners, the Inn keepers and the staff are upbeat and wonderful people. It truly is a couples retreat and we always leave there feeling relaxed and sorry to leave. We look forward to our next trip there, hopefully this fall.

We spent 3 nights here for our honeymoon! It was so peaceful and quiet and the view of the lake was awesome. Listening to the lake at night was very relaxing. The room was big and very clean and we just loved the feather bed. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. For those of you looking to go, definitely get a room with a lake view. Will definitely go again!

My husband and I recently visited Huron House for the third time since 2007 and it was as pleasant as always. The breakfast was outstanding and the innkeeper was even gracious enough to email me the recipes afterwards. During this trip we took advantage of the B&B's outdoor grill and made our own dinner while enjoying the sights and sounds of Lake Huron. Very romantic, amazingly quiet, and truly relaxing.

We stayed in the Sunrise room in mid July. Our first time here and we will be coming back....booking the same room. Water and garden view. I like that it was all white with some blue...just felt like I was in the tropics. Beautiful & peaceful place. Wish we could of stayed 2 nights instead of just 1. Breakfast was light, really liked all the different fruit. They also have menus of local places to eat which was very helpful for dinner. But we had pizza on our deck...just did not want to leave.

We are returning guest brought back by the peace, tranquility and romance that the Huron House has to offer. The sunrises on the lake are spectacular, a beautiful way to start ones day in a place where nature's beauty abounds!

The Huron House is one of the most romantic places my husband and I have ever stayed in! The rooms are all unique and cozy! We love the Newegon room because of the private balcony overlooking beautiful Lake Huron! The huge comfy king sized bed is situated right next to the windows overlooking the lake. When you open the windows, lay down on the comfy bed, and hear the waves lapping in you can't help but drift off into heaven! The staff is very friendly and the gardner is full of a wealth of information that he is happy to share with visitors. Breakfast is brought to your room at the time you specify. They knock at your door and leave your breakfast so there's no need to get dressed. There isn't a detail that this bed and breakfast has left out. Highly recommend!! Enjoy!

Breakfasts need less sweets. Carmel croissant two times in three days was too much morning gooey food. We appreciated the one day we had egg and cheese bake. Not enough lighting in room to read a book. We liked very much the grill, charcoal, tools, etc. that were available. We bought local produce and grilled them for a light dinner. It was delicious and we socialized with guests who came out on the deck to see what was cooking. It was a lot of fun.

Our only disappointment with the Huron House was that we couldn't stay an extra night. The room was larger and nicer than expected. The view was gorgeous. Breakfast was served to our door and looked and tasted wonderful. Hot tub on our deck was clean and nice. The gardens we beautiful and well-kept. The staff was friendly. The sunrise was gorgeous and even the thunderstorm in the middle of the night was breathtaking. They were having a little trouble with the WI-FI when we were there but other than that our trip was perfect. The Huron House has a nice grill they provide for their guests, along with charcoal, utensils, etc. There are lovely decks where you can hang out, eat, drink, read, or just stare at the water. The beach is quiet and perfect for relaxing and the provided chairs are very comfortable. We had a great time and I wouldn't change a thing.

The Huron House is a wonderful experience with a great location. The most dynamic part of the Huron House is the service that you get with this package. These wonderful people do what you need to have a terrific stay. A great place, and we will see you again.

This is a nice bed and breakfast retreat that is quiet with lovely rooms and gardens. Very welcoming and helpful staff. The Huron House is located right on the beach overlooking Lake Huron. It is also close to a National Forest with an enjoyable scenic drive. Our breakfasts both days (delivered to the room) were outstanding. We loved it and hope to be back.

The Huron House is almost exactly as advertised! Great location with beautiful views of Lake Huron from our room. The 2-3 steps to the beach makes it an amazing local if you enjoy water and beaches. Evenings, watching the moon rise from the lake were amazing! The room was large, beautiful, and perfect for a romantic get away. It's rare to stay someplace and have it truly be as advertised on the website. The staff was gracious, helpful, and super friendly!! Each room (we were able to look in two other rooms than ours) seems spacious and has great amenities. And did I mention the beach is RIGHT THERE!! The gardens are beautiful! Very calming to walk around and relax while looking at Lake Huron. A few areas that were just below average: breakfast was underwhelming. Not bad, just average. Mostly heavy carbs with some fruit. Not a lot of protein (I'm more of a protein person when it comes to breakfast). While the roomside service is really nice and relaxing (we ate on our balcony each morning), not having a common area means no getting to know your guests. It'd be nice to have a breakfast option in the garden or on the deck where we could mingle with others. Also, we ran out of coffee each breakfast - I wasn't sure how to get more coffee. Wifi is almost non-existent in the entire B&B. Even from the lobby. The remoteness of the location is great for unplugging and enjoying your time. But with maps for bike trails, online books / videos, etc. being commonplace, the upgrade to better connectivity will go a long way. Again, this is a small issue, and shouldn't take away from the overall positive rating. We loved the stay, loved the location, and will definitely head back for another stay!

My boyfriend and I received a gift certificate for Christmas to stay at Huron House. We decided to stay during the summer so we could enjoy the beach. We stayed in the Moonshadow room and it was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed the whole experience at Huron House and hope to come back again. Thank you so much for such a wonderful time. My husband & I visited Huron House for the first time, we stayed in the Chevalier room. The room was clean, decorated tastefully and quite roomy. The view of the lake from the windows just beyond the balcony is amazing as standing on the deck looking up and down the beach is breath taking. We saw the moon rise while sitting on the beach and the sun rise we viewed from our balcony. We had walked 2 miles both North & then South directions of the beach with no obstacles. (you could walk more...) The grounds were full of gorgeous plants that bordered wooden walkways that also were lighted at night. Beach chairs were provided to sit on the beach, we had brought our own though. You could even wash the sand off your feet from a faucet that was at the steps of the deck. There were so many little things not mentioned that made our stay more enjoyable. I believe we have found a new place.

The room was beautiful, romantic and very clean. However the setting and rooms were advertised as being very private which they were not. This was the biggest disappointment to us as anyone could walk by the rooms and see inside them. Also it was just feet away from a very busy highway and we could hear the traffic noise all night.

My husband and I have been to the Huron House many times over the years, and every time it is amazing. The rooms are so relaxing, the grounds are beautiful, and the views are breathtaking of Lake Huron. All we talk about is when are we going to go back!

My wife and I recently stayed at huron house,simply amazed at the view from our room. The innkeeper Rosalyn was great.We had a great dinner at Tait's downtown as well. We actually had our own little.peace of EDEN. WE WILL BE RETURNING. AMAZING........morgan and Taymahnee Brantley.

Second time at Huron House you will be very impressed the only thing I think they should change is the size of the Breakfast besides that the staff and people around town make you feel right at home. P.S. Food was great just small portions.

We just enjoyed our third visit to this beautiful B&B!! It had been 5 years since our last visit, and we were not disappointed. It was as lovely, peaceful and enjoyable as we remembered. Everything is done to perfection and no expense was spared. Even in the height of the summer, we enjoyed a quiet beach and a beautiful sunrise. If you ever get the chance, please go and you will fall in love with this place and hopefully your other half over again. BEST PART--NO KIDS ALLOWED!!

We enjoyed our stay at Huron House. Very nice location with a beautiful deck and gardens. Room was large and had lots of supplies (refrigerator, microwave, plates, glasses, silverware, paper towels, etc). We were dissappointed a little with the breakfast, it was really small and we were left hungry.

We were very happy with our stay at Huron House. The staff was very gracious and accommodating. The location and rooms were wonderful. The town of Oscoda is about 3 miles north. We enjoyed the private hot tub, gardens, and beach. The rooms are clean and very spacious. The grounds are peaceful. The king bed and bedding are very good quality. You will sleep well. Our room had a shower stall, not tub/shower (if that matter to anyone). Breakfast is delivered to your room everyday at the time of your choice. It was delicious and attractively presented. Only two small suggestions: It would be nice to have a closet or wardrobe in the room rather than just hooks. And I like to have a vanity/mirror outside the bathroom for getting ready . . . just to be outside a humid bathroom when my spouse is showering. These things would not prevent me from returning to Huron House though. I would definitely stay again and would recommend the place to anyone.

The room was outstanding and the grounds were impecable. The bed was great but the pillow was hard. The breeze in the room off the lake was fantastic and we didn't even need the A/C. The jacuzzi tub was very nice and deep. However, the towels were scratchy. We stayed in the Corsair Room, which was next to the owner's quarters, and it was noisy in the morning. Not sure if it was from them preparing breakfast or from the people above us. While the breakfast was brought to the room, I was disappointed with a continental breakfast, which consisted of a huge pastry (although very good and nice), orange juice, fresh fruit and coffee. They assumed everyone would like orange juice, which I can't drink. Would have been nice if they asked if we had food allergies or couldn't eat a particular food. I have stayed in many B&B's where the breakfast was out of this world. For the price, I expected more. All in all, I would recommend the Huron House as long as you are not expecting a great breakfast.

This is our retreat desination as often as we can go. Our room (Tawas) was situated right on the beach. The room is nicely appointed featuring a king sized bed, love seat, flat panel TV, iPod charger, jacuzzi tub. You also have a small patio with seating and a table, plus two beach chairs (and binoculars for watching the lake). Breakfast is served promptly at the time you requested, brought to your door with a quick knock and the staff person is gone. Coffee (or tea), juice, fresh cut fruit and home baked breads - different each day - like croissants, monkey bread, quiche. The gardens that surround the space are beautifully manicured, there is a large deck with chairs and places to relax. The place was totally booked and we never felt crowded out on the beach. Only minor complaint is that the wifi wasn't working or didn't reach our room.

We stayed at Huron House on July 5 & 6 at a last minute recommendation from friends. Rosalyn was so helpful and accommodating on the phone. This was a much needed break for my husband and I. We were beyond amazed at the beautiful grounds, the astonishing view of Lake Huron and the luxurious rooms. It was just what we needed...serene surroundings, an impeccably clean and comfortable room, and an innkeeper who went above and beyond to meet any needs we had. This was our first stay at B&B. Room was very nicely furnished, clean and great view of lake. Should have investigated the area more prior to reservation though. When laying on deck in sun your top half was warm, while the portion in shade was cold! Not much to do in this area unles you like to bird watch or fish. Two nights was too long for us.

The rooms are exquisite, the view spectacular and the beach/deck wonderful. Very relaxed, peaceful environment.

The Huron House was an outstanding location to spend our 30th anniversary. Exactly what we were looking for. We had a great time and will be back for a weekend get away.

We really enjoyed the room and the beautiful view. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We celebrated our 24th Anniversary and had a sweet surprise waiting for us in our room. When they found out we don't drink they were very quick to substitute sparkling grape juice for us. So appreciated! A much needed get-a-way. Very quiet and peaceful. Much more than we were expecting. This B&B exceeded our expectations. We've stayed at many in Michigan and Indiana and this was by far the most beautiful and luxurious. It rivals Chateau Chantel & Yelton Manor but has the lake frontage that the other two do not. We will definitely return there again! As an added plus, the east side of the state is not as popular as the west side so the result is fewer tourists! Only negative about the location is the drive on I-75.

Beautiful property with well-manicured garden and landscaping. Beach access, balconies, and porches for relaxing. Possibly the most attractive B&B in Oscoda and Tawas. Staff was very friendly upon arrival and hands off unless you ask for their assistance. Breakfast was delicious, however we were never asked if we had food allergies or restrictions. The locals were very helpful and polite. My husband and I are major foodies and found the surrounding area to be lacking in food/meal options. The one good food item we had was ice cream in downtown Oscoda across from Tait's Bill of Fair. Overall, the Huron House (the Huron room specifically) was a wonderful place to spend 3 days relaxing.
