Huron House

This was our 2nd time coming to the Huron House for our anniversary and the Moon Shadow met exceeded our expectations. The room was VERY clean, felt really relaxed and you can't beat the view of the Lake Huron. The hot tub was the cherry on top:) The staff is wonderful and are there to make your stay the best. We will be going back every year for our "getaway."

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here the night of our wedding and stayed for 5 days/nights. We had a marvelous time and it was very peaceful and relaxing. The staff was very kind and willing to help us out in any way we needed it. They have homemade breakfast every morning and its always fresh and very satisfying. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Being so close to Lake Huron and hearing the waves roll in and watching the amazing sunrise every morning was so serene and made waking up early worth it so much more. I would recommend the Huron House to any couple wanting a peaceful and relaxing get away for even just one night as its the best place I know of to enjoy one on one time with that special someone in your life.

It was our first time there and my husband and I both loved it! We were in the Huron room and it was just beautiful. We had a wonderful, romantic and comfortable stay for 2 nights and we can't wait to go back! If you are looking for a romantic, private and beautiful place to spend time with your spouse then this is it! The view is amazing and the entire stay exceeded our expectations! We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was fantastic and the food was spectacular. The service was great - we couldn't find anything negative to say about the Huron House B&B. Even when we found something was broken and told them about it they fixed it the next day. They had some repair work they had to do below the room and offered a gift certificate to a restaurant as compensation. We would definitely come back again! -Ryan & Debra Clymer

Visited the Huron House mainly to relax and just have some quiet time with my significant other. We stayed in the Oscoda room , which was very clean, comfortable, and well decorated. We had a beautiful view of the lake and a private deck , which was really nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly from the time I made the reservation on-line (Bev) to the time we checked out. Will definitely be returning in the near future. Very friendly town as well.

Our 15th anniversary was on April 4th 2013. My wife had no idea where I was taking her so she was very excited. The room was all ready when we arrived, and the manager was very nice. She informed what the Huron House had to offer and showed us where everything was before taking us to our room. She took us on a tour of our room, showed us where things were located, told us what was for breakfast, and even asked us when we would like to have it. We were also informed when the sun would be rising in the morning because our room overlooked the beautiful Lake Huron. The room was gorgeous. It had a king sized bed, Jacuzzi, champagne, and a deck overlooking the beach. We did go out for supper in Oscoda to celebrate out anniversary, but we couldn’t wait to get back to enjoy our room. When we returned from dinner we had some champagne and had a very romantic evening together. We woke up in time to see the sun rise over the lake and didn’t even have to get out of bed to see it. I just opened up the shades and got back under the covers and enjoyed the view. My wife and I have stayed at many B&B’s over the years and one of the best things about the Huron House was having out breakfast delivered to our room instead of having to go to a communal dining room. The breakfast was very delicious with fresh fruit, croissants, coffee, and orange juice. We absolutely loved it. When I say that the Huron House was the most beautiful and romantic place that we have ever stayed, I’m telling the truth. My wife and I had our best anniversary yet and definitely plan to return next year. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I would recommend the Huron House to anyone and have already done so to many of my friends and family. Thank you to the staff and owners for making our 15th anniversary unforgettable. As always, we really enjoyed our stay. We have been here a couple of times before and we look forward to each future stay. The staff are always willing to help make our stay more wonderful and they really go above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, peaceful, and very romantic. We will never go anywhere else!

Clean, large, beautiful room. The place is set up nicely for privacy. They bring breakfast to your room which we also liked.

The air was cold and crisp.The outdoor hot tub was great even with the occassional snow flakes. The Lake was beautiful. We saw the moonrise and sun rise..AWESOME....Our breakfast Quiche was wonderful.. Thank You..

My boyfriend and I stayed at Huron House recently in the Sunrise room. We are already planning our next trip back. This B&B is simply amazing. The room was clean, airy, large and welcoming... The views were beyond spectacular. When we arrived, Beverly treated us so kindly and made sure we had everything we needed. This is the most romantic, relaxing trip that we have ever had. There was a bottle of champagne and a love song CD waiting for us when we arrived. The breakfast that was brought to our room in the moring was so delicious and also the presentation was beautiful. Thanks Beverly for all of your help and we cannot wait to come back again!!!

Our stay at Huron House was amazing. We stayed in the Iosco room. The room and view were both breath taking. If you want a clean, romantic, beautiful place to stay then Huron House is where you want to stay.Bev, Joy and Rosalyn will make you feel welcomed.

The room was spacious and yet cozy. It was also immaculate. The service was exceptional. Breakfast delivered right to your door! And an outdoor hot tub! Quiet, peaceful, perfect weekend getaway. We plan on returning at some point in time!

My Fiance and I went to Huron House for our valentines day getaway. This is a second marriage for us both and we both have children and work full time...so for us, getting away is a priority and I wanted to make it special for my special lady. Our experience at the Huron house was beyond what I could have hoped for. The Iosco room where we stayed had a private hot tub on the deck, had a full lake view from the room and hot tub, and the attention to detail given by the staff was simply phenomenal. From the inn keeper who met us at check-in to the groundskeeper who bid us farewell when we left, every single staff member worked to make this getaway a great experience and tended to our every need. In terms of price, it was very affordable, especially when you consider the accommodations and view. I would highly recommend the Huron House to anyone looking for a romantic getaway to get recharged from the day to day life.

The Sunrise Suite with it's panoramic view is perfect for watching the sun rise over the lake. The room was very clean and private and the staff are very accommodating.

This was our first experience with a B&B and it far out reached both of our expectations! The room was very relaxing and romantic and the view of the lake was breathtaking. We would recommend to any couple for a romantic retreat. We will definitely be returning soon!

Quality in every detail here. It is costly compared to the neighboring cabins and motels, but oh so worth every cent! HH is touted as a romantic destination but I stayed as a single just to treat myself to some rest and relaxation, fabulous idea! and encourage anyone else to do the same. Overall a very good experience and recommend.

We spent the weekend after Valentine's Day at Huron House and were impressed with the extra touches--a tiny tray of Valentine's candy, a complimentary CD of love songs--and the staff's close attention to our needs (a pitcher of real cream to put in our morning coffee before breakfast, etc). The rooms are large and ours had a jacuzzi and a fireplace plus a comfy loveseat in addition to the king bed. We'll definitely return

I have stayed at the Huron House seven times, each time in a different room. It is my favorite place to stay. Each room is beautifully decorated and always very clean. The breakfast is always delicious and served right to your door at your specified time. I have referred several other couples to this B&B and it has become a favorite of theirs also. My goal is to stay in each of the rooms. I have stayed in 7 out of 14. Can't wait until my next visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Huron House enjoyed the Oscoda room. It made my honey's retirement, from the post office even more special having such a wonderful place to go to. My girlfriend and I stayed here for an out-of-the-blue weekend getaway. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and given a quick tour of our room. The room was spacious and tastefully appointed and had a gas fireplace in the corner that was a welcome addition to such a cold winter weekend. The breakfast was light, consisting of a croissant and fruit the first morning and french toast with fruit the second with coffee and orange juice served both days.The meal wasn't heavy or large, but fit the overall feel of Huron House and added even more class to an already wonderful establishment. The linens on the spacious and very comfortable king bed were clean and fine quality. The outdoor hot tub on a private deck was by far the capstone of the weekend. It allowed us to sit out in near freezing weather and watch the lake and stars late into the night. The views from our six large windows provided us an expansive view of beautiful frozen lake Huron. My one recommendation for the staff would be to look into providing robes for guests who have rooms with outdoor hot tubs--especially in winter. When deciding on whether or not to stay at Huron House, we were concerned by the lack of dining options around Oscoda. We eventually settled on trying Tait's Bill O' Faire and it proved to be an enjoyable dinner. The staff offers cleaning services daily but respects your privacy if you choose to just stay in. We recommend looking into an upstairs room if you would like to sleep in a bit later due to the early risers that tend to frequent B&Bs but being on the first floor didn't bother us. Overall, our experience at Huron House was incredibly enjoyable and we will most certainly be going back both in winter and summer. We encourage travelers to try a winter getaway as we did! We stayed in the Sunrise room and cannot wait to go back! Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Huron House Bed and Breakfast.

This is such a great place to go, the first time we went my husband surprised me and the second time I bought him a gift certificate for Christmas. We have only been there in the winter time, and we love that you can go out in the hot tub on the deck , then run into the room by the fireplace , I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer. Amazing breakfasts brought to your room also.. Definately wont be disappointed... highly reccomend!!!!

My lady and I stayed for 2 nights and it was truly a fantastic experience. The location and condition of the room were terrific, and the sunrise view of Lake Huron was magical. The service by the staff in general, and Bev in particular, was exceptional. The breakfast was delicious, and the combination of the private hot tub outdoors and the fireplace indoors made for the best weekend I could have asked for. I would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend away.

I had the chance to stay last Veterans day by myself and enjoyed pure bliss! Then I brought my husband up for his birthday in December and he enjoyed everything. My husband loved it so much we gifted the Huron room to his parents for January 2, 2013. We have all loved and enjoyed the pure peace and serenity this place gives to their guests. We're truly thankful for letting us all enjoy this wonderful place of true love and romance.

What a wonderful getaway this place is. A perfect couples retreat, indeed! The rooms are beautiful, clean and well appointed. The breakfasts are brought right to your room each morning, and are delicious. Being right on the water, the view is outstanding. We will be back!

The Huron House is in a class by itself! It is in a beautiful location and offers old-time charm, service, and guest-centered attention to detail. My daughter and son-in-law spent their fifth anniversary at this outstanding bed-and-breakfast establishment and had the most romantic, memorable time. I believe they plan to go there every year from here on out! If you are in love, you owe it to yourself and your spouse to spend a weekend at the Huron House to celebrate the gift of your togetherness.

My wife and I just needed a getaway, and we found Huron House, the Room was remarkably clean, and cozy warm when we arrived. The hottub was perfect for a winter soak, everything seems to be well kept up and maintained regularly. the bed was big and comfy. What more could a couple ask for. We will be sure to go back in the summer.

First time staying at the Huron House and we were extremely satisfied. Our room had a beautiful view and breakfast at our door was delicious. Not to mention very friendly. We will definitely go back!

I cannot fully explain how beautiful the Huron House is. The wife and I are sorry to say that we have not visited in quite a while but are planning a trip back very soon. The staff are very kind, polite and are always available if needed. Our first time we stayed in the Moon Shadow suite on our honeymoon. The room was perfect and we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The following year was the Negwagon suite and again, champagne on ice and a beautiful room to relax in. While we were there, we even adopted a pet seagull that seemed to think that we were it's parents. We named him Steve. Huron House is top notch and we plan on returning this August (funds pending) for our tenth anniversary and hope to grab the Negwagon suite once again. Tony & Sharon.

Surprised the Mrs. for our first B&B and we couldn't have been more pleased. Would recommend this location to everyone. A little expensive but well worth the money. Bev was great and the breakfasts' she made were world class. We stayed in the Sunrise room and will stay in that room again soon. Happy Holidays..

We have been coming to the Huron House since 2001 to celebrate our anniversary and some years in the spring for my wife's birthday. We have enjoyed every visit. Watching the sunrise over the lake in our hottub followed by a great breakfast in our room is the perfect way to start any day. We have found several great places to eat in the surronding area and several wonderful antique shops. The staff at Huron House is top notch, especially Bev who feels like family after so many visit. We already have our reservations made for our next visit in November of 2013. For a luxury adult getaway I can think of no better place to go.

This was our second stay at the Huron House. After our first visit, we loved it so much, we decided to spend our honeymoon there. We stayed again in the "moon shadow" room and decided that this will become a annual visit for us. The room and staff are heavenly and the breakfast is brought to your room and is fit for royalty. You will never forget your stay here and the breath taking view will linger in my memory as my "happy place" forever!

Huron House is our 'go to' romantic getaway. The rooms are immaculate, offering candles, a fireplace, hottub or jacuzzi, and all the peace and quiet you could ask for. From the large rooms offering a comfortable king size bed, to a cork screw for sharing that special bottle of wine in front of the fireplace, no detail is overlooked. Falling asleep listening to the surf wash on the shore, and soaking in your own private hottub or in room jacuzzi, or walking on the pristine beach, along with a wonderful breakfast served to your room, will rekindle any romance. The owners are friendly and very accommodating, running a fisrt class establishment. Will go again and again!

Spent the night in the Oscoda room Oct. 28th. This was our 9th visit to Huron House since April 2008. The room was very nicely appointed and gave us some ideas for our own hoom. Very large and comfortable room with a good view this time of year since there were not any leaves on the large tree in the courtyard. Staff and breakfast were wonderful as usual. Can't say enough about Huron House.

the Staff could not have been nicer. My wife and I arrived without a reservation and was put in the Cavalier Room. The room was immaculate and beautiful. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The grounds and gardens were well kept and beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and filling. At night, the beach is lit to a bare minimum, which allows a view of the stars that you can't get in the city. A little pricey, but worth it. I will be planning a return soon.

We were told that this was a nice place to go. We booked 3 nights based on this friend's recommendation. The Huron House was excellent in every aspect. The rooms were just as seen on their internet site. Booking was very simple on line. Food was outstanding; flexible in time to eat, brought to room, and filling everyday.The beds very, very comfortable. The views were enchanting and the waves breaking on shore soothing. We stayed in the Tawas room, on the 1st floor level & we were able to walk right out onto the beach. This was in October and the time was fantastic.

I just want to say that we have stayed at the Huron House 3 times now, once just to get away, once to get engaged, and we spend the last few days of our honeymoon last weekend (Oct 19 - Oct 21st) there and like always it was AMAZING. The service is topnotch, the rooms are decorated beautifully, the breakfasts are simple and elegant. The best room is Moonshadow, which has it's own jacuzzi staring out at Lake Huron. Although my boyfriend and I only spent one night here, it was absolutely perfect! I seriously doubt there are any other accommodations in the area that even come close to matching the what the Huron House offers. Our experience was pleasant from the moment we arrived until left.We will definitely be back!

Totally recommend this bed and breakfast. The best room, in our opinion is the Sunrise room which is on the corner closest to the water. The view is beautiful, jacuzzi is relaxing and private and the morning breakfast is tasty and fresh. We will totally go back. Great place for a special couple celebrating each other.

Everything was wonderful. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a small table behind the wash basin. Otherwise, we would be happy to go back someday.

Everything good. Love the noice of the beach all night. Beautiful room. Very relaxing. Bed was soft for us (left us both with a backache). Good shopping close.

We hadn't visited since 2005 and we are sorry we waited so long to return. The cleanliness of the rooms, the privacy, and the intimate setting all served to make our stay magnificent. We will not let another 7 years pass before visiting the Huron House again.

Our stay the Huron House in October was wonderful...The hospitality during our stay was 2nd to none...It seems they thought of just about everything...I proposed to my girlfriend on the premises and we now have a special place to remember the moment (she did say yes!)...The sevice after we left was something I wont forget....I forgot a piece of luggage in the room and recieved a call from Joy , who sent my bag UPS to my house a few days later...forever grateful......

This bed and breakfast has many luxuries that made for a romantic getaway. The view of the stars and morning sunrise were surreal. Those two things make the trip to Huron House worth the price.

Huron House was is such a lovely place. We felt pampered as soon as we walked through the door. Our room was plenty spacious, yet cozy at the same time. The hot tubs overlooking the lake are wonderful. In fact, our absolute only desire was that the hot tub be a bit larger. My husband is 6'4" and the tub is made for two people so it was a little cramped. Other than that, everything was great. Breakfast was good and we were lucky to have a gorgeous sunrise our first morning there. I would highly recommend Huron House for a romantic getaway!

Don't hesitate staying here because it is well worth it. We have stayed twice and both times have been wonderful. We are not into Bed and Breakfast places because we want to just eat by ourselves which is exactly what you do at the Huron House. They bring your breakfast to your room at what ever time you pick. It is very nice and relaxing.

Large well groomed beach. Well appointed rooms. Breakfast served to your room. I liked the chalk board in the foyer informing of the time of sunrise for the next morning. Lake Huron sunrises can be quite stunning and you don't want to sleep through them. Great place to relax and to get away with your loved one.

The Huron House in Oscoda Michigan provides everything a romantic couple could want - beautiful scenery, quiet solitude and the friendliest and accomodating staff you could ever ask for! The staff is there for you and only for you - anything they can help with they will accomplish for you! This operation is a "no brainer" and my wife and I recommend it to all!

Unexpectedly awesome! The room had such a warmth to it...just wonderful! The huge high bed was positioned by the windows to a breathtaking view of spectacular fall sunrises on Lake Huron. And the full moon at night time reflecting on the waters...glorious! It was a perfect fall weekend! The hospitality was exceptional! Always with a friendly smile! Champayne to celebrate our special time and each morning we opened the door to a delicious tray of breakfast with coffee & juice. Couldn't have asked for anything better! The place is beautiful. Spotless and clean. Very friendly and accommodating to special requests. The scenery at the lake is stunning.

We spent 2 night at Huron House after 3 days of traveling around Michigan. This was our first B&B experience together, and I must say that I'm afraid that Huron House may have set our expectations to a level that is impossible to reach again. Everything was stellar. The innkeeper was a joy, breakfast was delivered promptly every morning and delicious, and stargazing from the hot tub at night was practically life altering. Although the weather was less than agreeable, we had a great time and can't wait to visit again!

Wonderfully scenic place for a romantic getaway. Enjoyed luxurious king bed, in-room whirlpool and quiets walks on the beach.. Very restful!!

Bed was a little worn and not good for a bad back. Made sleeping difficult. Otherwise, it was great.

Surprised my wife with a weekend getaway at the Huron House. We have been in Michigan for several years but have not not spent anytime on the Lake Huron side. Room was great; in-room hot tub and fireplace and nice view of the lake. Service was also very good; hot coffee and breakfast delivered to room each morning. First day's breakfast (baked french toast) was much better than the second (crossant topped with some type of carmel sauce). Coffee was OK. The room incldues a coffee maker, so if you're a coffee snob you may want to bring your own. Rooms also include a fridge and microwave. Activities in the fall are limited especially if the weather is iffy - we had a nice time hiking in the nearby Huron national Forest despite some rain showers. Found some nice resturants nearby (Tait's, Northwoods Steakhouse, Coffee Mill) based on the local recommendations for lunch and dinner. All in all a great place for quiet, low-key weekend.

I loved this room, overlooking the beach and Lake Huron. What a nice quiet place to relax and get away from it all. Next time I'll be sure to talk about special dietary needs preferences with the inn-keeper. It's really nice that they deliver breakfast to your room. Really, really enjoyed our stay.

The Huron House is our fav spot to just get away for the night. It is close to home, always clean, jacuzzis are well maintained, breakfast is yummy, and service is super friendly. The scenery is marvelous, sunrises are beautiful, and gardens are gorgeous.

On September 18, my husband surprised me with a night away for my birthday. I had no idea where we were going. The Huron House is absolutely beautiful! They showed us a couple of rooms and I got to pick which room we stayed in. My husband made a comment that this was the best he has ever slept away from home! We will be back again!

Have been to several B&B's throughout the years and keep coming back to Huron House. By far the best B & B I have ever been to. It is a little pricy but obviously worth it because I've been six times now and plan on returning!

First class all the way. Quiet, relaxing, the best night's sleep ever. Two glorious sunrises, wonderful surf sounds, a passing shower gave us a double rainbow, endless beach walking. Delicious cookies. Staff respected our solitude, private hot tub the best.

We spent the weekend to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We had a private deck and hot tub that added to the awesomeness of the stay! The room was immaculately clean, the breakfast very good and the champagne wonderful. We took a long walk on the beach, which was clean too, and sat on the deck and watch the ships on the lake. The fireplace in the room insured a romantic atmosphere. One thing that really stays in my mind is how the staff genuinely loved working there and seeing what they could do to make our stay better. We will be returning again and again.

Lovely location with beautiful, lake front rooms which are clean and very comfortable. Nice amenities (candles, extra towels) and kitchen equipment (corkscrew, paper towels, etc.) made our stay really smooth. Breakfasts were delightful treats and just the right size with piping hot beverage service.

We were very pleased to find such a couples oriented bed & breakfast not all that far from home. Was just what we needed .... a place to just relax, slow down and be together. Accomodations, breakfast, landscaping all top notch. Thanks so much.....

We have enjoyed the Huron House for many years and generally visit as at least twice per year. Each visit is an exceptionally pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are gorgeous, spotless and frequently updated. Breakfast is awesome and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We've stayed at other B&Bs to "try something different" but have given up - none compare to the Huron House.

My husband and I had a lovely time this past weekend at Huron House. I loved the gas fireplace in our room. The view was wonderful. Our room was lovely and the bed was extra comfy. We particularly enjoyed having breakfast delivered to our room each morning and walking down the beach (you can go four miles in either direction) Negatives - the lighting in our bathroom was not very good. This made it a bit of a challenge when trying to get dressed. I think they could fix this by adding a lighted make-up mirror in the bathrooms. Also, the shower head is attached. A hand held shower head would have been appreciated. The shower has a seat and that's great if you need to shave your legs, but without a handheld shower head you are at the mercy of an attached head with water pressure that is merely adequate. Our tub was certainly large enough for two, but not large enough for cuddling. :-( If you visit it's good to know that the room has a small kitchenette, complete with a little microwave. I wish that I had carried popcorn and a few other snacks. Will we stay there in the future? Maybe. There are so many other places to explore throughout the state, I have a feeling we'll continue trying other places.

The views from the rooms were unbelievable. The rooms were decorated so well. The beach was lovely and the outdoor public areas and gardens gorgeous. It's in a class all its own; not much else like it I've seen. Proximity to the water a real plus.

I was very pleased with my stay at Huron House. The staff was genuine and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious with perfect portions. I am very picky about mattresses and I found the bed in my room super comfy. The beach was quiet and peaceful. My husband and I plan to save up to spend our next anniversary here as well. In all seriousness, I have no complaints. The place even smelled like delicious cookies when we arrived.

We came here for our honeymoon last year and just returned for a second stay. The rooms are great and the view is beautiful. We are hoping to make Huron House an annual getaway! Would highly recommend if your looking for a relaxing , romantic weekend!

First the view was amazing. I love the private beach and private hot tub on our deck. The breakfast delivered to our door in the morning was to die for! DELICIOUS! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I love the little touches like fresh baked cookies in the lobby and champagne in our room for our anniversary. The room was beautiful and clean! We stayed there for our honeymoon last year and just returned for our one year anniversary. We will be returning every year for our anniversary.

This was our second year in a row staying at the Huron House and it was as good as ever. The rooms are cozy and romantic, food is delirious, and we love that no matter how booked they are the beach is never crowded. The staff is great and so helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We will be back again

A great place to do all 3 things--seeing the sun rise out of the lake is awesome! Walk on the beach is great or just sit on the deck & relax, you will leave refreshed & renewed.

We have chosen the Huron House as our yearly anniversary place to spend a week every year for the past several years. We will celebrate our fiftieth there next year. What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Huron with a wonderful breakfast brought to our room each morning.

Two wonderful nights at Huron House! Everyone is friendly; room is cozy & immaculate; views & gardens are spectacular! Breakfast is delicious, but not meant for those who want a big breakfast. My husband & I very much needed this time for ourselves, and plan on returning soon!

The Huron House was recommended to us by more than one friend, and we will also recommend it to everyone we know. What a beautiful, elegant, upscale establishment. There was attention to every detail from a warm and friendly greeting, to a beautifully appointed room, to a delicious breakfast in the morning. All set on lovely Lake Huron. PERFECT! Can't wait to go back!

This was our third visit to the Huron House, although our last visit was at least 8 years ago. It was an excellent visit; very relaxing, and the staff is outstanding in how they treat their guests. We plan to return again.

We started coming here about five years ago on our anniversary, and now come every year. They have perfected the b&b.

Bathroom Light fixture in Moon Shadow suite has a bulb out...it appeared the fixture socket was defective / loose rather then the light bulb being burned out.

This was our 4th stay at the Huron House and as always it was very nice. Tad bit expensive, not sure if we'll be back because of the cost. New air conditioner was great as we've had problems with that in the past. Don't go expecting a hearty breakfast. Just fruit and pastry. We stayed in the Oscoda room. Very large with a huge bathroom but very tiny shower. All in all though we had a very nice time. Staff was wonderful.

My husband and I decided to do a quick getaway before we ran out of warm summer days and chose Oscoda because we love walking on the beach. Our stay at The Huron House was just perfect! We love that its just adults,the beach is wonderful,warm cookies in the afternoon in the office,hot tub on our balcony looking up at the stars,and breakfast delivered right to our door when We requested it!

What a great place to stay! We were left alone after the initial greeting and overview. Breakfast was great and delivered right to our room on time. The view of Lake Huron was wonderful. We watched the sunrise from our bed. We would definitely stay at the Huron House again and highly recommend it for a relaxing adult weekend.

8/26 12. Stayed in the Iosco room. Quiet, private. Next time I will take my own pillows, though. The ones supplied were big and a little hard. Breakfast was great and served on time. Repeat customer, for sure!

We were here 6 years ago with some friends and had a great time then. We wanted somewhere to go for a night that was close but far enough away to feel like a vacation and we remembered this lovely B&B. We love the place!! You can't ask for a more serene location with great access to the beach. The decor and ambiance of the place is wonderful and we would recommend it to everyone! This is definitely the nicest Bed & Breakfast I have been to...and the rooms nicer than most hotels - I have been to many. Our room was lovely and bed was exceptionally comfortable, as was the room. The gardens were beautiful and it was evident that much time and care had been afforded the property. Staff were tremendous. I would definitely go again. Re my lower rating on the dining...although the presentation of the food was excellent and it was delicious, there was no menu choice and no protein given. Having breakfast brought to your room is a nice feature, although my personal preference is to dine with other guests. Thank you for a great stay...I hope I can come again soon.

My husband and I celebrated our 27th anniversary and could not have picked a better spot. The local area is beautiful with plenty to do if you like nature.

We recently stayed in the Oscoda Room, which has a lovely view of the water- you are steps from the water from the door of your room. This was my second stay at the Huron House and we have already booked again for next year. This has to be the nicest B & B I have ever stayed at. They do a great job. Two things: the door to our small refrigerator would not stay shut, so we have to prop something against it, and the lighting in our bathroom was very dim, which made it difficult to do your make up, etc..... Overall, we felt like we have made a trip to the ocean- Great Place to Stay...................

This was our 2nd stay at the Huron House and we loved it. The room was perfect! We stayed on the second floor and found it very private, we left the windows open all night and loved the sound of the waves and the cool breeze. We will be back again.

The Huron House is one of the best places I have stayed in North America. The staff is outstanding and my room (The Seradella) was just wonderful. Breakfast is delivered to your room and was outstanding both mornings. The beach and the lake can hardly be matched.

We had such a great experience. The attention to detail and how friendly and helpful everyone was including other guests. We relaxed on the beach, hung out around town and even made some new friends while we were there. We also used the massage therapists recommended from Huron House website and they were simply the best massages my husband and I have ever had. We will be returning again and we have also recommended Huron House to all of our friends.

Huron House is so restful. It is the perfect romantic get away. The sunrise is beautiful and the food is delicious. Ask for eggs if you have blood sugar issues. They are so helpful. We have been going there four years and we will probably continue to go forever!

What an awesome place to spend our anniversary. The owners made everything perfect. The sunrise and not one, but two bald eagles overhead in the morning was icing on the cake. We definitely plan on staying here again.

We spent a long weekend in Oscoda and had a great time at Huron House. It was perfect for us. The beach and deck areas provide needed relaxation and the room and porch were perfect for our needs. We will be back soon.

The only disappointment was in the fact that the couple in the room below ours was smoking on their balcony. The smell of that made it impossible for us to enjoy our time out on the balcony.

My husband and I have been visiting the Huron House for many many years and we just can't say enough about this beautiful and romantic get-away! We have stayed in the Negwegon room, the Oscoda room, the Moon Shadow, Sunrise room, Tawas Room, and the Iosco room and everyone of them are awesome! The rooms are beautiful! Some have a private outdoor hot tub and others have garden tubs in the room. They have beautiful fireplaces in each room as well. The thing we love the most is laying in the big comfy king size bed and listening to the waves lap in. You just can't help but leave the Huron House relaxed! Breakfast is served at the time you want right to your door. We stayed on July 24th and saw shooting stars and then woke up in the morning to the most incredible sunrise! We highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast! Cindy and Paul M.

The Huron House is beautiful in almost every way: the place is well kept, the gardens are immaculate (even in the recent heat wave and drought), our room (Negwegon) was fantastic and incredibly clean, the location directly on the beach is wonderful, and the view of Lake Huron from our private deck was the proverbial icing on an already great cake. The bed was very comfortable and the place is quiet so we slept very well. And then the negative arrived: the breakfast. We have stayed in many B&Bs and even those with less than stellar rooms and beds often make it up with a fantastic breakfast. It was reversed here … wonderful beds and a lousy breakfast. It was supposed to be a breakfast casserole: what we got was a lot of bread with a little cheese and egg thrown in. Ohh, and there was a small side of fruit. All this disaster of a meal would have needed was more eggs, some mushrooms and green peppers, and a slice of bacon either on the side or in the dish. Then to complete the meal, a small pastry or muffin would have been nice. Nope. None of that. And for these prices I expect nothing less. This breakfast seemed to reflect the culinary choices for the whole area: very poor. So, go for the view, the service, the location, the cleanliness and the Bed … just don’t go for the breakfast. It left us, shall we say, with a bad taste in our mouth.

We spent three days at Huron House and wished we could stay longer. The room was incredibly clean, the grounds immaculately manicured and lovely, and the soft sand of the beach is steps from the door. Breakfast brought to your door allows total privacy. We appreciated the small refrigerator and microwave along with place settings for two which allowed us to prepare small amounts of food in our room, a real plus when dealing with dietary considerations. There is even a grill and charcoal provided for those who wish to prepare their dinner overlooking the beach. We are thankful we discovered this rare gem, and hope to return again and again!!! It's the perfect couples getaway from the rat race of life.

We came to the Huron House for a private wedding ceremony and could not have been more pleased with the intimate private setting, gorgeous view of the lake, and the beautiful gardens. The Huron House and staff made our wedding day simply one that exceeded all of our expectations. The private setting of the rooms, and hot tub, and breakfast are like nothing we have experienced in any other B&B. The other major advatage is that it sits right on Lake Huron with an absolutely gorgeous view of the lake that cannot be beat, and a beautiful private sandy beach. Our room faced the water and we enjoyed 2 sunrise mornings that we will not soon forget. We loved The Huron House so much we booked the same room already for next year to celebrate our first anniversary!

The rooms, buildings and grounds are exceptionally beautiful. The rooms are beyond spacious and furniture very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. The only small criticism would be with the breakfast and last of goodies in the evening. We stayed 2 nights - the 1st breakfast was a croissant with sauce & fruit, and while the fruit was outstanding and professionally presented, the meal lacked substance. The 2nd breakfast was a baked french toast and fruit, very good, and more like other B&B breakfasts we have had. There were no brownies or other baked goods sitting in the lobby in the evenings as we have become used to at all the other B&B's we have stayed in. We would highly recommend Huron House to anyone - it was truly a delightful experience, relaxing and very luxurious.

Outstanding B&B and a wonderful atmosphere. Very romantic with great beach front. The rooms were beautiful. The service was super. Anything we needed was at at our fingertips. They went above and beyond with champagne provided for our special occasion. I would definitely recommend. There is no place better on the East coast of MI. Huron House staff definitely created a trip to remember.

This property is breathtaking and they have paid attention to every detail. The rooms are huge, private and plush with every ammenity provided. The views from the balcony of Lake Huron and the immaculate sandy beach with private use is out of this world. The breakfasts were delicious and brought right to your door step. I would highly recommend this for a romantic couple get away...it was nice not having children at the facility.

Have stayed several times. It's always a treat. Would definitely recommend for a few days to unwind or get reacquainted with the significant other. Tip for the traveller: make sure you put out the "Maid Clean This Room" card or they won't.

The Huron House has become a truly special place in our lives. Each visit (five or six now) renews our souls and refreshes our spirit. This time we stayed over the Fourth of July - happiness is the Sunrise deck in the moonlight, glass of wine in hand and fireworks all up and down the beach.

A short weekend stay that we loved. The staff is exceptional. In every way they made us feel welcome. Everything about the place is designed to put you at ease, from the room decor to the beautiful grounds, to the proximity to Lake Huron. Could've used better lighting in the room but that's a minor quibble.

"Is it time to leave already? Can't we stay another day.. week...year?" We were first time visitors celebrating our 43rd anniversary and could not have had a more romantic stay anywhere. The room was charming, the bed more than comfortable (never seen so many pillows on one bed), the in-room served breakfast exquisite, the sunrise over Lake Huron breath taking and the staff most hospitable. We loved our stay and anticpate celebrating many more anniversaries with the Huron House.

One could not expect more than is given at the Huron House. This is a special staff and place to experience, if you looking for private and comfortable surroundings

Huron House is the perfect place for an anniversary or just time away to relax. there we no kids which was perfect. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Our room was perfect! So clean and comfortable. We stayed in Negwegon. It was right on the beach looking at Lake Huron. The sunrise was amazing right from our room. The beach was clean and quiet. Everything was great!! We will definitely be back.

Right off the bat, just the pride that the owners took in their place showed. The hospitality, decor, accomodations, view, etc. went beyond our expectations. We read some of the reviews online, and were very impressed, but still skeptical. Upon arriving and taking one view of our room and Lake Huron outside our window, I knew it was going to be like heaven on earth. Being from the city, places like this are short to come by. Thank you for the amazing visit, and this will now be our new place to return to on our yearly trip...maybe even more!!

The Huron House is lovely and is an ideal couples retreat. The rooms are nicely furnished and have wonderful balconies, Our room overlooked the lake with beautiful sunrises each morning. The breakfast was delicious and was delivered right to the room. The deck and beach area was very nice with chairs and recliners. The staff was helpful and informative and we enjoyed our visit. The downside is that the town of Oscoda was completely under construction and there really are no restaurants in the area that are particularly nice. The Taws State park is nice, but the rest of the area isn't so great.

Definitely recommend staying here! We were here for three nights for our anniversary. Beautiful view (we stayed in Chevalier), quiet guests, lovely grounds, tasteful decor, yummy breakfasts. We will come visit again!

What a jewel! We had high expectations and they were exceeded. We stayed in two different rooms and loved both. The decor was beautiful. The lake view as expected was great but the gardens and deck area were a very pleasant surprise. Water was warm and clean. No rocks. Beach was clean. If you are looking for great rooms with fantastic views, great gardens and a very quiet surrounding, this is the place. If you are looking for unique home cooked breakfast, this is not the place. Food was just OK, but the overall Inn made up for that. Onr thing that would be an asset is umbrella's. This place is very sunny and no umbrella's are provided. Suggest you bring your own small beach umbrella for use when sitting on the sand beach (chairs are provided). Also the High Banks room could use a lamp next to the bed for reading. The area of Oscoda and East Tawas are sorely lacking great resturants. Au Sable Inn was poor, Barnicle Bills in East Tawas was terrible. The resort across the street was bad. The only place we gave a good rating was Mr. Jack'ss in East Tawas. We tried Taits in Oscoda for lunch and it was decent with good soup and a terrible BLT and good service. We will definitely go back to the Huron House. It is by far the best BB on the east side of the state and quite possibly the best in Michigan.

My wife and I stayed at the Huron House for our anniversary weekend in mid-June. The location on a very sandy and quiet portion of Lake Huron is excellent, and the quick drive into either Oscoda or Tawas provides plenty to see and do. The resort is groomed and landscaped beautifully. The decking and paths are well-maintained, the flowers and grass cared for, and the deocrations are pleasing without being overbearing on the senses. We stayed in the Moon Shadow room, which is more or less right on the beach and only a few yards from the water. The room was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable if a bit creaky. Our only minor ding was the shower - with all the attention put into the rest of the room, the pre-fab shower and plain showerhead seemed out of place. Most of the rooms have a semi-private deck, and most rooms have either an indoor or outdoor hottub. The Sunrise Room has its own sitting area outside on the beach, perfect for watching passing ships and stars. Breakfast was tasty if a bit light. Our first morning's breakfast was quiche with cheddar melted on top, with fresh fruit and juice. The second breakfast was a huge croissant with house-made praline sauce and fresh fruit. If you're a big eater at breakfast, you'll be disappointed - but otherwise it's a satisfying and delicious start to the day. The resort has a firm occupancy limit of two per room, so you won't encounter loud kids and most of the people staying here are couples. The beach is perfect for walking - sandy, not rocky, and dotted with just enough smaller resorts and cabins to provide human contact without the craziness of a public beach. The service was excellent as well. Joy always has a smile and is eager to make your stay exceptional. Our requests were all addressed cheerfully and completely. We had a relaxing weekend here and would highly recommend the Huron House to anyone looking for a quiet weekend getaway on the east coast.

This is what I would call a "diamond in the rough." The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing. If you are looking for relaxing, this is where it's at. The rooms sit right on the beach and even though there are other guests, you still feel like you are on a secluded, private beach. The only negative I have is not regarding the Huron House at all, but the town of Oscoda/Tawas, there is nothing decent to eat in this town. Too bad the Huron House couldn't open up their kitchen for lunch!

Very nice staff, Good Breakfast, beautiful view, very well kept place. Air conditioner was a little louder than we liked, but that is THE ONLY complaint we would have.

The room, views of Lake Huron, and the service provided by manager Bev were exceptional. Unlike most B &B's, having breakfast delivered on time as promised was a delight. Hot tub, jetted tub, and thoughtful landscaping added to the charm. Traffic noise on nearby U.S. is the only negative, but hardly the fault of the Huron House. All in all, our stay was exceptional and we would definitely book a room in the future.

When I walked into our room it took my breath away, it was absolutely beautiful. the room was better in person than on the website. I would update the pictures on your website. We took a short weekend Honeymoon for the Holiday weekend. We found "THE HURON HOUSE" on the internet, and it is everything it said it would be. Friendly and kind people. The rooms were spotless and very welcoming. The breakfasts were very delicious. Beautiful to sit on the deck, relax. and look at the lake. We had the motorcycle, so we had a day trip planned. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay again.
