Experience the historic elegance of Cartier Mansion. Built in 1905 by lumber baron Warren Cartier, this neoclassical mansion features exquisite woodwork, original fixtures, antiques, a carriage house, and beautiful gardens. Walk to Lake Michigan beaches, restaurants, shops, marinas, and the car ferry. Five guest rooms all with private baths, wireless internet, 300-plus thread count sheets, down comforters, bathrobes, and a full breakfast, will make your stay a special and memorable experience. Cartier Mansion is also the perfect location for your special event. We are available for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, business meetings, conferences, parties and more.
The most luxurious room at Cartier Mansion is the King Suite which was originally Warren Cartier's private quarters. This guest suite includes a large bedroom with a king size bed, adjacent sitting room, and private access to the grand balcony overlooking Ludington Avenue. The large bathroom features the original rib cage shower from 1905, a soaking tub, foot tub, and Jacuzzi tub.
The Cottage Room is decorated with vacation photos taken by the Cartier family during the early 1900s at their cottage at Hamlin Lake. This is a large corner room that features a queen size bed and a private in-room claw foot bathtub/shower.
The Blue Silk Room was originally Kate Cartier's private bedroom and bath. The walls are adorned with beautiful light blue silken wall coverings and the original crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The Blue Silk Room features a king size bed and a private bath with a claw foot bathtub/shower.
The Lighthouse Room features shelves of miniature lighthouses and photographs of iconic Ludington area lighthouses. This cozy guestroom features a queen size bed and a private bathroom with a large walk-in shower.
The Round Room's curved wall makes for a visually unique guest room. This cozy room is located on the northwest corner of the mansion and overlooks the Carriage House making for a lovely and tranquil view. The Round Room features a queen size bed and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower.

A beautifully maintained historic home with period elegance but contemporary comfort. The breakfast was delicious and extra effort was made to ensure a memorable visit. One of my top five bed and breakfasts.
