5 out of 5Awesome Place!
February 28, 2013
I was recently looking for a place to get away in order to do some marathon studying for a series of upcoming exams. My wife suggested that a b&b might be a good place to find solitude and get away from all distractions. I e-mailed the Cottonwood Inn and explained what I was looking for and what I was hoping to accomplish. I promptly received a reply indicating that they would be able to meet my needs. I stayed at Cottonwood from Monday to Friday, and found it to be exactly what I was looking for and more. I stayed in the Jonathan Edwards room and found it to have the convenience of a hotel with the homey environment that set it apart from any hotel I have ever stayed in. Most of my time was spent on the couch next to the fireplace surrounded by my books: the ideal environment. Each morning a hot, delicious breakfast was ready within minutes of waking up, and Liz was attentive to my every need without being intrusive to my “mission”. She provided everything I needed from fresh towels to a sandwich at lunch to a never-ending supply of coffee to directions to a local workout center. It snowed for a good part of the time that I was there, but Don worked hard at clearing the driveway of snow and also repeatedly cleared snow off of my car. The service I received at Cottonwood was second to none. It is obvious that Don and Liz want to provide everything a customer needs and are also sensitive to the purpose of their visit. I look forward to future visits to Cottonwood and would recommend it to anyone.
4.4 out of 5Charming B&B
January 20, 2013
One of the nicest B&B's I've had the privilege of staying at. Very welcoming atmosphere. Our room was pristine and very comfortable. Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. We were greeted with the stimulating aroma of brewed coffee and baked bacon wafting through the air. As we entered the dining room we saw a blazing fire with crackling wood in the fireplace. The piece de resistance was the beautiful presentation and delicious flavor of the baked french toast lovingly prepared by Liz. Liz treated us as long time friends in addition to sharing her hobby of primitive rug hooking. Many of her pieces are used throughout the home. We look forward to returning in the future.

My husband and I are lifelong residents of Michigan and in that time we have visited a lot of beaches, especially along Lake Michigan. The Cottonwood Inn is located less than 4 miles from what we consider among the top 5 beaches in the state; not to mention that you are less than 4 miles from the downtown area of Holland where there are a multitude of great dining and shopping options. As for the Inn itself, Liz is an excellent host(ess) and spares no details in terms of both the room and board. Her blueberry french toast was so outstanding I asked for the recipe. She provides many special touches and goes out of her way to welcome and accommodate her guests' needs. We highly recommend the Cottonwood Inn to all types of travelers.

What a great get away spot in Holland! Close to the biking trail and lighthouse and beach! The John Calvin room was so very spacious and comfortable, quiet and relaxing! We enjoyed our conversations with the fellow guests at breakfast and also with Liz. The food was spectacular with Michigan blueberry muffins, bacon and cheese omelet, juice and coffee or tea. We appreciated Liz's suggestions for dinner and going to a small beach for walking and the Saugatuck dunes for hiking. Cottonwood Inn is charming and full of Michigan hospitality.

5 out of 5Great Experience
June 27, 2012
When going to a B & B I think we all look for different things, but we mostly hope to find the feel of warmth, comfort and overall peacefulness. All of the qualities happen when you arrive. The Innkeeper Liz, greets you with a smile and you get the feeling she wants your stay to be memorable and she goes the extra mile to help you plan your stay. The breakfast was very good and I enjoyed the baked cookies with some hot tea in the afternoon. There are a wide range of great things to do and being so close to everything was a "big" plus. This stay was worth every minute and makes the advertising that we always see come true.... so make sure you "Come to Michigan" and Liz will make you feel right at home.
4.8 out of 5Holiday Weekend
June 09, 2012
My husband and I stayed at the Cottonwood Inn over Memorial Day Weekend. Liz greeted us at the door when we arrived and showed us to our room. The room was beautiful and very clean! The bed and linens were wonderful. Liz is a great cook and was very helpful in providing us with information about the area/local attractions. We had a really fantastic weekend and look forward to staying at the Cottonwood Inn in the future!!

4.8 out of 5A lovely and peaceful Home setting
April 16, 2012
I spent an hour online looking for a place to stay for 1 night with my husband and daughter as we were visiting our son. Liz, owner, was very helpful on the phone and welcoming at the door. Our room was just right with a lovely attached private bathroom. The assortment of foods for breakfast suited all of us, which we shared with 4 other guests in a friendly atmosphere. We will come again and have already given our recommendations to 2 friends. Thanks, the Mydosh Family
