The Cottonwood Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Liz was very welcoming, and offered great advice of places to visit in the area. About 15 minute drive to downtown Holland and Saugatuck, this bed and breakfast is ideally located. Bikes and kayaks are available and free to use. The breakfast was delicious, and Liz made us feel at home during our stay. We highly recommend The Cottonwood Inn. Jesse and Darcy

My husband and I stayed at Cottonwood for two nights for a short getaway. The B&B was conveniently located close to Holland State Park, Saugatuck State Park, and downtown Holland. Liz was very helpful in recommending things to do and places to eat. She also let us borrow her kayaks for a fun excursion at Lake Macatawa. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were very nice! If we are ever in Holland again, we would stay at Cottonwood again.

My wife and I loved our stay at Cottonwood Inn. The house has a cozy, rustic feel. There is plenty of space to relax, read (in a reading nook), or play board games. The room we stayed in (John Calvin) was the biggest with a fireplace, walk in closet, sitting outcove, and its own bathroom complete with a 1911 tub! The other rooms were a bit on the smaller side but there are three communal living spaces to offer space and privacy. What made the stay for us was Liz's wonderful hospitality. She is very personable, and made us feel very welcome in a new environment. She recommended us the good local restaurants and even offered us coupons for a free dessert. She cooks an an incredible breakfast, and she is immensely kind. It snowed 5" during our stay, so she woke up early and shoveled a path to our car and even cleaned the snow off of our vehicle! I have never been treated so well by a BnB host. I don't think you could go wrong staying here!

Cottonwood Inn was truly an awesome retreat. Very charming and impeccably clean. Liz, the innkeeper, was so gracious and welcoming. We stayed in the Jonathan Edwards room, it was clean and very comfortable. We had Belgian waffles loaded with fresh strawberries and sausage on the side. The second morning we had blueberry baked French toast with bacon on the side. Both breakfasts were homemade, delicious, and filling! Snacks, coffee, tea and water were always available. Cottonwood Inn is ideally located in the town of Holland, MI. Even in the middle of winter we didn't have enough hours in the day to do all that Holland had to offer. We enjoyed the bustling downtown, full of boutiques, shops, and eateries, we also went resale shopping and didn't make it to all of the stores or any of the antiques shops! We will definitely visit again!

What a wonderful experience staying at the Cottonwood Inn. Liz, the owner was so accommodating. She shared key points of interests in the area and identified them on a map. Breakfast was filling and delicious. The house is spacious but quaint. The large sitting area w/fireplace in the John Calvin room offered privacy and the gathering room w/fireplace offered a warm social environment. It's located 1/2 mile from the lake and the lighthouse is a short walk from the parking lot. Great location, great experience.

Spent a couple of nights Veteran's Day weekend. I only ate one breakfast, but it was awesome. Waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. They have good coffee, too. Better than a lot of restaurants that should have better. (I've turned into a bit of a coffee snob, so appreciate better-than-average coffee a lot). We stayed in the John Calvin Room. Electric fireplace, sitting chairs, very roomy, attached bathroom, walk-in closet. The hostess was very friendly and took care of us. I want to go back just to spend a day sitting in their common areas and enjoying the quiet with a book. It would be nice to go in warmer weather, too, to be able to sit on the deck and enclosed porch. I have nothing negative to say about our stay, except I was getting a cold and couldn't enjoy the second days' breakfast.

This is a wonderful place off the beaten path. We enjoyed 2 days of celebration of our 41st wedding anniversary here and are glad that we did. Liz, our hostess, was very gracious. Breakfast was great! This is a place not too far from lake Michigan sunsets that is a must to return to.

Felt like Robinson Crusoe on an island far far away. The house is hard to find because it is surrounded by trees. The rooms are so nice and Liz is a perfect host. I hardly managed to eat all of the breakfast. But hold on, not that 'all you can eat stuff', freshly made with local products, Soufflee, Pancakes a.s.o. Try to come back, even the house is 5000 miles away!

I really enjoyed my stay. Liz was very quick to reply to my emails and helpful to point out the sites when I arrived. I stayed in the John Calvin room which was very roomy. Liz cooked up a great breakfast and I was full. Free WiFi and beaches are an easy 5 - 10 minute drive away. Liz has the gift of hospitality and will accommodate you for whatever you need.

My father and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cottonwood Inn. From Liz’s welcome at the door to the excellent conversation at breakfast, we felt like we were staying with friends. The house is full of captivating personal touches, a wonderful library, and much music. After staying there, we felt like we had indeed become part of the local community. We stayed in the John Calvin room and the Samuel Rutherford room, both very clean and full of interesting things. Holland is a fun town to visit, but this B&B is worth the trip by itself. Highly recommended.
