The owners are artists and have paintings for sale at the inn.
Because of a lifetime love for horses, the horse wallpaper had to be saved in renovation. The age of the wallpaper is unknown for sure, but was possibly placed there in the early 1900's. Those staying in the Cowboy room will enjoy its Southwest flavor as well as horses galore.
The Music Room developed with the Cathey's enjoyment of music and Ron's musical talents including playing the guitar. In this room is an old organ. Former owners said the organ had always been in the house; consequently, the organ remains in the room.
Garden room has warm knotty pine walls and fluffy ruffle curtains. It gives a gentle flowery feeling and even has its own picket fence. The Garden room reminds gardeners of Spring time when flowers and vegetables begin to grow in sunshine, blue skies, fresh air, and water all the necessary ingredients for growth.

We stayed at the Blackberry Ridge in June of 2012. I know I'm quite delayed in writing the review, but wanted to give our stamp of approval! We stayed for 3 nights, and felt totally at home here, Ron and Sybil were delightful company, the breakfasts were exceptional, and our room had everything we needed to make our stay exceptional. Ron and Sybil were great hosts and concierge's! The Inn is close to everything and yet feels as if you were in the country and stepped back into time. Thanks Ron and Sybil for sharing your great home with us.

A home of this historic stature naturally is hosted by a couple with the manners and hospitality of bygone eras. Our room, the Garden Room, was spacious and well appointed. The bath area was the largest we've experienced in a B&B. Situated just outside the metropolitan rush, this oasis offers quiet, warmth and a true family feel. Highly recommend. We stayed in the Cowboy room and had a great night's sleep. The hearty breakfast of eggs, sausage and fruit and the very friendly hospitality of Ron and Sybil were icing on the cake. The location was very convenient to all the local attractions. We are anxious to return for another stay.

My Friend and I had a delightful stay here! The croissant breakfast was super, I can't wait to make it for my family. The accommodations were great. Both Ron and Sybil were so gracious and made us feel at home. We stayed in the cowboy room, clean, comfortable with a beautiful bathroom. We would definitely go back there again. Thank you!

Our hobbies are reflected in the names of our rooms - the Garden Room, the Cowboy Room, and the Music Room. We also enjoy all the great outdoors Western Michigan has to offer such as swimming and kayaking in its lakes and cross country skiing in winter snow. Ron's a Life Coach and massage therapist and offers sessions by appointment. Both Ron and Sybil are artists and sell paintings at the inn.
