We were first timers to the Grand Haven area. We celebrated our anniversary and could not have been more pleased with the Boyden House and the area in general. The Boyden House was absolutely beautiful and quaint and Shelly our hostess - was very accommodating. She makes delicious homemade breakfast and keeps the entire house clean as can be. We stayed in the Safari Den and we never wanted to leave the room - the bed and the ambiance was beyond comfortable!!! Plenty of parking and athough the house was full this weekend - we had tons of privacy. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful - it's 2 blocks from downtown Grand Haven. Even though it was chilly we walked when we could. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyonee - we fell in love with it and would most definitely return! Thank you! Carlos and Diana

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we were road tripping through Michigan. Grand Haven was our second stop, and our very first B&B. We were very happy with the whole experience. Once we got home, we have been raving about it to our family and friends and can't wait until we can come back and visit!

We stayed in the Executive Suite and it was just lovely. The room is beautiful with high ceilings and comfortable furniture throughout. The fireplace was perfect for a winter getaway and the bathroom had a wonderful deep tub and old subway tiles. It was so comfy and the house is really beautiful and well restored. Breakfast was yummy with homemade french toast and quiche - and you could help yourself to as much as you liked. We also appreciated the hot tea and ice cream bars available in the guest kitchen. We had a wonderful stay.

They were not at full capacity, so they upgraded our room. The room was very nice, but the bathroom was VERY small. When you sat on the toilet your knees touched the wall almost. I think if we return we'll try the first level rooms, because I believe they have larger bathrooms and are more private. The breakfast was not the worse we've had at B & B's, but it was not the best either. I'm not sure how much longer they will be staying around, because the owners are retiring and the place is up for sale. It does have beautiful Victorian architecture and very pretty. My favorite part was the small kitchen area upstairs that had ice cream bars, a variety of drinks, and biscotti. This was a very nice extra to have when you get the munchies late at night or need something to drink.

Although the ambience of the Boyden House was very nice and what you would expect from a bed and breakfast the room was extremely small / bathroom shower and amenities were below average. Would not have booked this location if I had seen the room / bath prior to booking.
