We went for the NASCAR race and it is only a mile and half from the track. We loved the convenience of being so close. Joe and Barb were very nice and their B and B is beautiful!
Thanks for the kudos-we appreciate it.

Thursday (February 14, 2013) afternoon through Sunday (February 17, 2013) morning we stayed at Dewey Lake Manor (http://www.deweylakemanor.com) Bed and Breakfast (BnB). We had a beautiful room in a beautiful building on a beautiful site overlooking Dewey Lake. We had tasty breakfasts with excellent conversations with fellow guests and with Barb and Joe Phillips, the owners.

This was our first experience with a B&B and we could not have chosen a more perfect way for celebrating our anniversary. Upon our arrival, Barb greeted us at the door and showed us to our room where we were welcomed by warm gas fire place and a congratulatory rose in a vase. Barb and Joe also provided us with a complimentary bottle of chilled wine. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous and cinnamon bread and butter have now become a staple in our home. Can't wait to come back.

As you search the numerous choices of places to stay, stay focused on the reason for choosing a B & B – to experience and truly relax in a different time and place away from your daily life. If you are seeking a prominent, magical vacation-home setting that is an architectural gem steeped in history and lovingly cared for by charming innkeepers, Brb and Joe, Dewey Manor needs to be your destination. Located within an area that is described as a wine-lover’s paradise, this B & B congers up feelings of “Somewhere In Time”, “The Secret Garden”, or “On Golden Pond”. Turn off the smart phone, put away the ipad and leave the laptop notebook at home in order to really slow down your mind and enhance your senses. The simple pleasures of life reign supreme at Dewey Lake Manor, such as a casual stroll, a paddle on the lake, getting absorbed into a book, or enjoying a scrumptious country breakfast each morning. Our stay at Dewey Lake Manor was a memorable experience as we celebrated a birthday and our 18th wedding anniversary. This is a place where you can dream without boundaries and feel the freedom that you had once felt when you were a child. As a couple that has traveled extensively and has stayed at numerous Michigan B & B’s, our heartfelt recommendation is for you to end your search and make a reservation to slow down at Dewey Lake, create lasting memories and enhance your life.

Our first time vist for our 1st wedding anniversary and the hospitality exceeded my expectations. The home feeling that Barb and Joe gave was well appreciated. Thank you so much for the rose and complimentary wine, we thoroughly enjoyed and we already want to plan a return visit. Very peaceful setting on the lakefront. Thank you so much and will recommend your place any chance we get.

My wife and I spent the night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Barb and Joe were gracious hosts who took the time to tell us about the history of the B&B, our room, and more. We enjoyed a paddleboat ride on Dewey Lake before leaving for a dinner out. Our room was nicely sized, well appointed, and had a great view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious and the company great. The bottle of wine and the red rose to commemorate our special day was icing on the cake. Thanks again! I won't hesitate to recommend Dewey Lake Manor to friends and family.

I enjoyed a return stay, this one by myself, on May 2-3, 2012. Barb and Joe weren't expecting anyone, but greeted me warmly when I just showed up. I had a wonderful green and white shamrock-decoratedroom. I had everything I needed. I love the tranquility of Dewey Lake Manor. I wanted a quiet get-away place and I knew Dewey Lake would provide it. The only thing that wasn't quite top-notch was the breakfast. I think maybe it was because they weren't expecting anyone that night. When my husband and I stayed there previously after Christmas in 2010, everything -- including the breakfast -- was superb. I intend to return to Dewey Lake Manor again.

We were the only ones there one night and we mentioned that we would not be haivng breakfast in the morning. We wanted to sleep in:) Since we the only guest she offered to make breakfast at a later time. Also, we did have some miscommunication - but they made it better! Very thoughtful hosts!

We were here last weekend for the second time. The first time was a year ago. We had such a nice time, that we decided to go again. It was so quiet and peaceful, and everyone was so nice. I just wish we had stayed 2 nights this time like we did last time. We are thinking about returning in the summer, since we didn't go down to the lake. Another person who stayed said the bed was wonderful and he slept so well. I told Barb that it wasn't the bed, it was the atmosphere! The food was great and everyone we ate with was very friendly.

I had a lot of knots in my rope & found this weekend exactly what I needed to unwind. My stay was in the lake view room which had a warm, friendly feel. The innkeepers were very attentive & accommodating. The breakfast was delicious!! I enjoyed my stay very much. I would recommend this B&B to others.

We enjoyed our stay so much! It was so quiet, which was a huge plus! Even with the strong winds that night, it was still quiet. We enjoyed a movie while we were there -- a large selection of DVD's and videos to choose from. We could not get our VCR to work, but the DVD player was fine. Had a pleasant conversation with Barb, the owner. Wonderful person. Would return again! Great place to stay!

We met friends at Dewey Lake Manor and Barb and Joe were very helpful in giving us ideas on what we could see in the area. The warm atmosphere created by these professional hosts helped us to feel comfortable and at home. The home has beautiful views of the lake with very private grounds. A wonderful breakfast was served on the porch-a charmiong way to begin the day. We will stay here again.

Great place for our wedding night. I was skeptical at first because I have never been in a bed and breakfast. We arrived about 10p and a sweet lady met us at the door. Our room was their upstairs jacuzzi room, it was all dolled up with soft robes for us and a comfy bed. In the morning we were served home-made breakfast casserole, crispy good bacon, a variety of fruits and breads. You eat on a screened in like porch overlooking the lake. It was a gorgeous view. I would love to go back again for our anniversary. Everything here was great!

This was our second trip to the Dewey Lake Manor because our first trip a few years ago was so good. This trip was another outstanding stay. From the facilities to the hospitality, everything was really nice. We were met right away upon arrival and offered an even better room than we thought that we were origionaly getting. We enjoyed the grounds then the room. It was a nice comfortable rest. We woke up to a delicious home cooked breakfast that exceeded our expectations. The food and the company of the other guests and the hosts made it a perfect start of the day. We enjoyed the stay so much that we told our family and friends about it on Facebook. We also will choose this bed and breakfast when looking for our next get away.

Barb and Joe--just wanted to let you know how much I, and then Shelley and I, enjoyed our stay with you. You provide an excellent environment to relax and enjoy the Irish Hills, and your breakfasts are without equal!! The landing strip was particularly cool! We really enjoyed our visit, and will certainly call on you WHEN we are in the area again. Thanks again for the opportunity. Dave and Shelley Ramsey Kenai, Alaska

My wife and I spent our 3 year anniversary at at this B+B. Barb and Joe are so hospitable and the property is so immaculate right on the lake. Food was exquisite both mornings that we were there. Coffee was always available and we went to Cherry Creek winery right down the road. Great food and atmosphere surrounded this town. Everywhere we went to was only about 5 minutes away from the B+B. We made a fire down by the lake and played football and frisbee right underneith this huge willow tree. We went for a paddleboat ride and enjoyed some wine on the deck during sunset. There was also horseback riding to see buffalo. Rooms were of good size with a fireplace included in all rooms. They left a rose and a bottle of chardonnay for us for our anniversary when we entered our room, a very nice touch and delicious, local wine. They have great knowledge of the area. Anthing that we wanted to do, we just asked them and they would tell us exactly how to get there and even where to park. If you're searching for B+B's in the area, stop searching and pick this place, hands down, the best that we've stayed at in America. Thanks Barb and Joe for making our anniversary one to remember!

The rooms are very clean and comfortable and you will instantly feel welcome and at home. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while attending a high school reunion and visiting family in the area. It was an outstanding place to stay, clean, quiet, comfortable and charming. Barb and Joe are great hosts, warm and personable. Breakfast was delicious both days. Both my wife and I felt like we were visiting our grandparents house, and were welcome and cared for. Great place!

We have been return visitors to Dewey Lake Manor for several years, and the Phillips' never cease to be the most gracious of hosts. We especially enjoy Joe's easy conversation. The Inn itself is so comfortable, clean, and with the removal of some items in the rooms which take up much needed space, would rank up there with the most highly rated Inns in the industry.

Dewey Lake Manor is the perfect blend of cozy historical tanquility and fun on the lake and in the area. I have stayed both for celebration and quiet reflection and Barb and Joe couldn't have been nicer. It's my all time favorite get-away.

We stayed 2 nights at the Dewey Lake Manor and it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable stays away from home we have ever experienced. The house was EXACTLY as pictured and described and the owners, Barb & Joe, were the friendliest hosts we have ever encountered. We highly recommend this Inn for an enjoyable and relaxing break from it all!!

Joe & Barb Phillips were very warm and welcoming to my family. My family rented out this Bed and Breakfast so that they could all be close for my wedding. The price was unbelievable and too good to be true for the entire facility! The breakfast was down on the farm super, and they even made special arraignments for our Vegetarian eaters. The decor of the rooms resembled the old Victorian era which was entertaining to my family since it was so different from anything we've previously stayed in. I would definitely recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

This was our first stay at a B&B, and we stayed for two nights. The manor was beautifully decorated and full of history, the accommodations were great, the breaksfasts were outstanding, and the inn-keepers were wonderful. We highly recommend this establishment.

My Mother and I stayed for 5 days while picking up my new lab in Jackson. Barb & Joe were terrific hosts and very accomodating to us and our pets. We loved the property the peace and quiet the calming views the lake and walking the entire vast property. The pup Willow learned how to swim in Dewey Lake at 8 weeks old. I will stay with Joe & Barb again. Great relaxing time for me and my pets.

Not only is the 140 year old manor full of history, but the owners are the most pleasant people we've met. We have stayed here for three years now to celebrate our anniversary. We find a rose in our room, a bottle of wine and a nice little card wishing us a happy anniversary. The rooms are spotless, the decorating 'quaint', the breakfasts delicious, and the innkeeppers extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about doings in the area. They provide brochures for the wine trail and a variety of local places of interest. We wouldn't think of celebrating our special day anywhere else now.
