Stayed only one night, but still had a great time. The B and B was very clean, they have games and books for you to read. Snacks and drinks 24 hours. The staff is wonderful and make you feel right at home. We were the only guest and we had the whole house to ourselves, so I am not sure how it is with multiple people. The breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend this B and B for anyone!

Beautiful, cozy home. Dave and Jim were gracious hosts. The day keeper, Monica, gave a pleasant welcoming. We loved the 'gift' of a growler from Shorts, happy hour and breakfast. It was lovely to meet some other guests and hear stories from the hosts. We are already planning our next visit!

Wish we could have stayed longer! A nice find for a recent wedding we attended in Bellaire.

What a wonderful sanctuary. I have had the privilege of staying her three times. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The breakfasts and afternoon hors d'oevres and wine are amazing. The setting is so tranquil and yet close to town. But what really tops it off are the hosts. They make you feel like family.

we have stayed at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast several times, and it has become our first choice for a weekend getaway. The welcome is always warm, the rooms impeccable, and the area full of beautiful scenery and quaint shops. Always something to do, even if it's just sitting in front of the fireplace with a good book. The breakfasts are gourmet and plentiful--the best we've had in our 20 years of exploring bed and breakfast lodging. Yes, we'll be back.

Impeccable detail and a charming B & B.. The owners were so welcoming and knowledgable of things to do in the area while enjoying our stay. Had a wonderful time and would recommend to anyone going north in Michigan.

This was our fourth time staying here. Each time we have had a different room. I can honestly say that I cannot think of one negative thing to say. Everyone of us staying there that weekend were all returning guests. That alone speaks for itself.

This was our first B&B experience. It makes hotel/motel life look really terrible. I would live at this place if I could.

The home is lovely, totally remodeled, lots of character. David and Jim are excellent hosts. We really enjoyed talking with them and the other guests during the evening social hour. The grounds are lovely as well and the tree lined setting is beautiful.

Where to start...? "Top Drawer" comes to mind!! This was by far the best accommodation of our 23 day road trip. The entire B&B was exquisitely decorated and furnished - extremely comfortable and welcoming. Proprietors were professional and efficient, but also accommodating, friendly and informative. Breakfasts were superb spreads of gourmet delights and the afternoon 'happy hours' were equally great. Our room was magnificent - plush, comfortable and quiet. If the Bellaire B&B is not already a top model for what a B&B should be, it certainly should be!!

Our stay at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was very pleasant. We will visit again in the future. The only negative thing i have to say was a better hand held shower head needs to be installed in the Mackinac room. The existing shower head is awful. Sorry guys.

We have stayed here a few times now & it never ceases to impress. David & Jim are so welcoming & are always happy to give wonderful suggestions for resteraunts or places of interest. When we travel we prefer to stay in B&Bs & this is the best we have ever stayed in! We shall return.

David's breakfasts were varied and beyond delicious. Out host, Jim, has an incredible way of making his guests feel comfortable. Meeting new people is not my "thing" however Jim made the experience easy and enjoyable. It didn't take long to feel at home in the comfortable surroundings of the beautifully appointed surroundings. We'll be back!

We were very fortunate to get the last room at the last minute at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful, clean and well run B and B. The owners are very accommodating and willing to assist with ideas of places to go and things to do within the region. The breakfast is absolutely outstanding. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had an awesome stay.

This was my first visit and there will be many more in the future. The Bellaire Bed & Breakfast is charming and the hosts, David & Jim are very hospitable. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfasts that they serve are plentiful and delicious. The owners are very knowledgable about the region and can give you tips and insights on places to see or how to get there. Thanks again David & Jim and I look forward to staying with you again!

As always great food and great conversations. It did rain most of our visit but that didn't matter, the area is still beautiful and the stay always the best. Even the other guest that stay always are very friendly and lost of conversation over the 5:00pm happy hour. Of course will be back

You know that little sigh that you let out when you know something is just perfect? That breath was exhaled the minute I saw Bellaire Bed and Breakfast sitting atop a slight hill at the end of the tree lined driveway. The buttery yellow color of the home set against perfectly landscaped gardens, the tandem bike parked out front, the hammock hanging amongst the giant maple trees; we were in awe of the attention to detail before we even got inside! As we made our way to the door of the main house, Jim greeted us warmly, he informed us of the wine social hour, breakfast time, and offered us a complimentary bottle of champagne. After our introduction he walked us up to the Vintage Room and showed us all of the delightful amenities that were stocked inside. My favorite part was the claw foot bath tub and bubble bath! We met Dave during the social hour, during which he tantalized us with what we would be experiencing for breakfast in the morning. Quattro formaggi quiche, brown sugar and cinnamon broiled bacon twists, and pineapple ricotta muffins. A night of anticipation was worth the wait! During social hour Dave and Jim also gave us the low down on their favorite places to eat and shop in the downtown district (they also give you a card that indicates vendors that offer discounts to their guests). We mentioned we were planning to go to Short's Brewing Company and again, with the impeccable attention to detail, they provided us with a copy of their full menu so they could point out their favorite foods and informed us that they purchase 6 mug club memberships that their guests are welcome to use while at the brewery. After breakfast the following morning, we played some shuffleboard amidst the garden and enjoyed the perfect weather. We were sad to check out and turn in our key, but happy to see it was rewarded with a box of chocolate cherry truffles. We were so impressed by our stay that this will be the first of many trips we will make to Bellaire Bed and Breakfast.

Wow!! This was our first experience with a B&B and I would have a hard time believing that there could be a better one. We were looking for something different to do to celebrate our birthdays and could not have been happier with our decision to stay here. Dave and Jim are fantastic hosts and the whole staff is incredible. The food was awesome and if you went away hungry it was your own fault! There are so many added personal touches and because we were celebrating our birthdays, they had a nice little gift for us. The linens are top quality (no threadbare towels or sheets here) and fresh towels are provided daily. Don't bother packing shampoos, conditioners and soaps, they are all provided and not the cheap ones found in hotels! They provide bottled water, pop and snacks for you if you get the munchies at night. Did I mention fresh baked cookies in your room every day? I need to say that we were fortunate to see every room that the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast offers, and although I have my favorite now, I would not hesitate to stay in any of them. Each is tastefully decorated and has it's own theme. The grounds are absolutely beautiful to walk around and relaxing on the porch with or without a book is wonderful. The home sits on a nice little hill in a quiet area, yet it is close enough to walk to downtown Bellaire for shopping and dining and going to Shorts Brewery. What is really great is the fact that it is centrally located for different day trips to Torch Lake, Traverse City for wine tasting, Sleeping Bear Dunes for breath taking sights, Petoskey and so many more things that Michigan has to offer for people to see. Once again, thank you Dave and Jim for making us feel at home and a part of your family. And if you like dogs, then you'll love having Tucker and Chips around at the social hour each day where they serve wonderful wines and snacks. Looking forward to returning for another wonderful time here. Ed and Marilyn Ray, Michigan

I LOVE staying at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast! Any time of the year! Whether it be a romantic getaway with my husband in one of the Carriage House rooms or a quiet retreat by myself in the main house, the experience is ALWAYS excellent! From the wine hour at 5pm to the full gourmet breakfast at 9am, everything is well done!

I think the fellow guests (on their eighth stay) that said the Bellaire B&B sets the bar for what a B&B stay can be, were oh so right! Wonderful food, and furniture more comfortable than one finds in 4-star hotels.

Our second stay at the Bellaire B&B was fantastic. We stayed in the Eastlake room this time, which has it's own private balcony overlooking the expansive front lawn. What a wonderful place to relax and read in the morning sunshine! The room was cozy and immaculate, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Another bonus to being a guest here is that you get to use their mug club membership at Short's Brewing. We love this place and will be back next year!

We arrived and were warmly greeted. The cheese, crackers, and wine were a nice touch. Our room in the carriage house had so many outlets (great for plugging all your electronics) and amenities, that I thought the innkeepers had gone above and beyond. The fireplace and complimentary beverages were nice bonuses. Would definitely come back for the delicious breakfast and the lovely lodging!

Very pleasant place to stay, downtown was just a short walk with several nice restaurant choices to eat at. I would highly recommend for a laid back weekend to refresh. The area is beautiful.

From the moment the door is opened to welcome you, the gracious innkeepers and staff do not miss a beat. This peaceful location, laden with towering oak trees and English gardens, is also within a brief walk of the village of Bellaire. Fine dining, Short's brewery, and an array of shops await you. The accommodations are superb. Attention to detail is visible throughout the property. I highly recommend this B and B.

We recently made a repeat visit to the Bellaire B&B. Both visits were great. The only thing that could have been better would have been to have gluten in the breakfast pastries. On vacation it is nice to have treats that one would not normally indulge in at home, yet when the treats are unsatisfying it is a let-down.
5 on August 26, 2014
This place is amazing! The food was delicious. Between me and a few of the other guests, they had a lot of dietary restrictions to accommodate. The people we were with agreed that if they hadn't told us items were vegetarian or gluten-free, they would have never known. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and Jim, David, and all of their staff were soo much fun. Very relaxing getaway!
5 on August 25, 2014
Our stay at the Bellaire B&B was our first stay at a B&B, needless to say were were unsure what to expect. When we were greeted, "Welcome to our home" we knew this was something special. From the immaculate accommodations, to the delicious breakfasts (we never had to eat lunch!), to the fact that no detail was left to chance, we had an absolutely wonderful time.

I recently stayed for 2 nights at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast with some girlfriends. We had a wonderful stay. The inn keepers have decorated with an eye to premium decor and bedding. The bathrooms in both rooms were very lux! The breakfast each day was a treat with leftover scones or coffee cake packaged for us to take in the car as we toured the area. The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast made the trip very special.

Great accomodations with many areas to relax. A library for reading, a garden for walking, tucked back amongst trees. A true delight to take advantage of terrace off tuscany room. Hosts were at the meet and greet wine gathering with local wines, cheese and crackers. Breakfast was great...its your own fault if you go away hungry.

I almost didn't want to write a review, because the more people who know what an absolute TREASURE the Bellaire B&B is -- it will be impossible to get a room!! My husband and I have stayed at our fair share of B&B's -- we prefer it over a hotel-- and this one night stay at Bellaire B&B has topped the list (after 20 years of B&B's!). The atmosphere, the breakfast, the rooms, the view, the peacefulness, the hospitality.... absolutely # 1. We cannot say enough! THANK YOU!!

Had a fantastic stay at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast, in fact we loved it so much the first time we went back the last day of our trip to stay again. Walking into the house and meeting keepers your felt at home right away. The wine hour was fun, getting to know some of the other guest, and they had all the menu's of resturants in town or near by for you to browse over and look at them. Breakfast was delightful and they catered to my celiac disease wich is an even bigger plus!

A truly outstanding experience all-around. David and Jim are beyond accommodating, and incredibly fun to get to know. The room was very clean and well taken care of, breakfast was exceptional, and the grounds are fantastic. With the proximity to town, mountain biking, and kayaking, I can't imagine a better place to stay than Bellaire B&B. My wife and I are already discussing when we'll be back.

You get it all with your stay at the Bellaire B&B, a comfortable & clean room, outstanding breakfast, wine and nibble hour, cookies in your room, access to beverages and snacks all day. The location is perfect whether you want to enjoy the shopping and lakes in the area, or drive a short distance to a neighboring community. Dave and Jim are the best hosts you could ask for!
5 on July 12, 2014
Warm greeting. Lovely Home, grounds, interior decorating. Beds were made while we were at breakfast and even after a nap. Breakfast was wonderful. No detail was left out, from the cookies on the night stands to the little poof on the tub. We felt right at home immediately. Plenty of space to relax and just hang out. Walking distance to an assortment of dining & shopping. What a wonderful stay we had. Definitely on our list of return places. SUPER

This is one of the best B&Bs we have found. Which, is why we keep coming back.
5 on July 09, 2014
This B&B is our favorite. We keep going back because Jim & Dave and the entire staff are so focused on us having a great stay. Bellaire is a great little town to visit if you want to relax and get away from the daily grind.
5 on July 07, 2014
This is our third time staying at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. It is my favorite B&B. David and Jim are wonderful hosts. They take excellent care of everything. The grounds are so beautiful. The rooms always neat and orderly, not too fancy. Breakfast is AMAZING. Every morning, breakfast is completely different. Wine hour is always a fun time. And so close to Shorts, with mugs available to guests, can't be beat!
4.8 on July 07, 2014
This is the second time we've stayed at the Bellaire B&B. We especially enjoy the fact that it is literally a five minute walk into town to visit shops and restaurants (particularly Shorts Brewery). Jim and Dave's hospitality and attention to detail is outstanding, with the afternoon social hour being a very nice touch. This year we stayed in the Carriage House, and although the room was more spacious, it had the same quaint feeling as the room we stayed at in the "old" house. We definitely plan to return!
4.4 on July 06, 2014
The thoughtfulness by David and Jim in every detail shined through! No need to think twice when deciding where to go for your next relaxing get away. We loved every minute and can't wait to go back.

From our arrival to our departure everything was casually and elegantly provided - this is how B&B's should operate. Will be returning in the future.
5 on July 01, 2014
Just spent three nights at this B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Dave and Jim made us feel right at home.
5 on June 30, 2014
I have stayed at many B&B's over the years but none like the Bellaire house. The Innkeepers are charming, helpful and fun! They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The breakfasts were out of this world, delicious and plentiful. The house is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The grounds are amazing! Will definitely come back.

From beginning to end, Bellaire B&B knocked it out of the park. Short walk to shorts and the smokehouse. The breakfast...don't get me started!!
5 on June 21, 2014
Jim and David have got it all, a beautiful facility, delicious food, and five star hospitality in a great little town. We enjoyed the breakfasts, wine and cheese on the porch in the afternoon, tips on the best restaurants in town for our tastes, and their suggestions for what to do in the area. We will definitely return!

4.8 on May 28, 2014
I enjoy B&B experiences. Upon planning a trip, I looked up which ones would be local and available for my trip. The Bellaire Bed & Breakfast was the closest to my destination, and had what I was looking for in a place to stay. The house and grounds are absolutely lovely. In addition there was both a porch swing and hammocks that I was sure to use. Talk about lovely. There is a full, family style breakfast that is both delicious and gives the opportunity to interact with the other visitors. I enjoyed my room, it was perfect for my needs. I slept beautifully. Also, the B&B is walking distance from most of Bellaire, and very scenic. The owners are very nice and genuinely seem to love what they do and do it with a passion. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 on service is that oneof them had a little difficulty listening and seemed more interested in being the center of attention. Not in an unfriendly way, just made it a little frustrating not being heard and understood. Overall, a terrific stay. I definitely recommend.

Loved our weekend at Bellaire B&B! Lots of mountain biking, Shorts Brewing, easy walk to town; and the B&B is the best I've ever stayed at. Spotless, comfortable bed, all the amenities, beautiful setting, friendly and accommodating innkeepers, and a breakfast that is incomparable. Bellaire and the Bellaire B&B are the best kept secrets of Pure Michigan!

Everything is awesome. The only one comment I must say. The game room is never available. The table is set right away for the next morning. 1. It would be nice to be able to use to either sit and talk with friends or play games. 2. It is just gross because everyone has to walk past that all day long.

A friend treated me to an overnight's stay to be used as a Writer's Retreat. Couldn't have asked for a more secluded, quiet and relaxing experience! The hospitality is unmatched. Food was excellent and the house is exquisite! Most people will enjoy going downtown to one of Bellaire's great restaurants or shops, and of course, Short's Brewery is just a block away. I chose to hole myself up in my room to get some writing done and this B & B was perfect for this as well. The only breaks I took were for two luxurious soaks in the old-fashioned clawfoot tub and to socialize with guests over appetizers, wine and breakfast. Highly recommended!

The owners, Dave and Jim, are wonderful! The rooms are always extremely clean and decorated with taste. The breakfast is delicious, and they just keep bringing it out!! :). Also, you need to visit Shorts and LuLu's while you're there, and the best part is you can walk to both!

We could have not asked for a more memorable experience on our first anniversary. The Shorts Brewery was conveniently located along with many other attractions within driving distance. I would recommend to visit in the spring or summer if you enjoy the outdoors. The B&B was excellent in every aspect and the only minor niche was a luke warm shower but we remedied that with a soak in the Jacuzzi tub. It's not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Warm and engaging hosts, Dave and Jim. Great food and a lot of it. We woke up to 4 inches of fresh snow on our day of departure only to discover they had cleared off the car and shoveled around it.We will return!

Its common to refer to people at the top of their game as the “rock stars” of the profession. In that context, Jim & David are the rock stars of the Bed & Breakfast industry. They understand hospitality fundamentals and execute them with perfection without you even knowing it. You just experience it. They then take it a step further with a few extra small touches that make it a special stay. Don’t worry if you’re not conversational for breakfast. Jim will fill in any gaps and keep the atmosphere comfortable for all. The breakfast?….let’s just say “It exceeds expectations”. You won’t be disappointed.

David, Jim and Staff were delightful!!! Beautiful Grounds even in the winter.

My husband and I and another couple stayed at the B and B during the Traverse City winder comedy festival. We have stayed here once before a couple-three years ago and loved it. It was another wonderful experience. The rooms are charming, breakfast is excellent, and the owners go the extra step to make the stay special. We will definitely stay here in the future

Recent weekend winter stay at the Bellaire B&B. It was wonderful in every way. Great room; privacy when desired; excellent service; free wireless internet. Our innkeepers, Dave and Jim, were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, a bountiful selection of freshly made hot items, fruit, breads. I cannot imagine anyone not loving a stay here.

This was out second trip to Bellaire B&B. Afternoon happy hour with wine and a snack is a nice welcome or a nice way to start the evening. Jim is an excellent host, very knowledgeable about the area, offering great tips on where to eat, where to ski and what to expect around town. David cooks a very good breakfast. The fruit compote with the various vinegar offerings was fabulous. I will be purchasing some for home use. The other nice touches are the cookies in the room and offering leftover breakfast pastries as snacks for the day. My only disappointment was the egg dish on sunday, a four cheese souffle, it was good, not great. The common areas of the Inn are very user friendly. We enjoyed our weekend with our friends and look forward to returning.

We celebrated our anniversary here with a quick trip and plans to hit up Short's and Schuss mountain. Those things were awesome (and Short's is less than a half mile walk from here), but we were not expecting that the place we were staying would contribute so much to the experience of our weekend getaway. The Garden Room was clean, cozy, and quiet. The hosts were all extremely friendly. Breakfast was delicious and there were plenty of options. You simply could not ask for a better experience. It's a much better option in my opinion than staying right in the ski resorts. It's only about a 15 minute drive and is so much more personal and welcoming. We had no trouble eating our fill at the DELICIOUS 9am breakfast and making it to Schuss Village by 10am for our ski lessons. I could not recommend this place more and we definitely will be going back as soon as possible.

My wife and I had never stayed in a b&b prior to this, we were nervous. I have to say that we had a wonderful time. Our hosts David and Jim made our stay very enjoyable. The breakfast was amazing, I can't wait to try out some of the recipes at home. I would definitely recommend this b&b.

This wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last! Already planning our next time. We celebrated our 42 nd anniversary here- and we love Jim , Dave and Monica. Where do I start? This is the cleanest B and B that we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many. Charming? It is SO charming. Comfy? Oh yes- and fireplaces all over. Hungry? oh you never will need to eat until dinner time after the scrumptious breakfast! Today- Ginger Vanilla Creme Bruelee French Toast- with raspberry sauce and REAL whipped cream. If you have dietary restrictions- just let them know when you make your reservation. You can walk into town and that makes it even more fun. Shorts- Lulu's, Bellaire Bar, Toonies, Moka to name a few of the fun places to eat and drink. Ski? Right down the road at Shanty Creek. Only an hours drive to Traverse City, or if you want to go north- try Charlevoix or Petoskey. You will have such fun. There is a 5 pm wine hour- in the gorgeous library. Now how can you not make a reservation?

Mary and I had a fantastic stay. We stayed in the Carriage House with friends. The living room in the Carriage House provided ample space for our New Year's celebration. The breakfast feast was outstanding. Thank you!

This was our second stay at Bellaire B & B. David and Jim are superb hosts and spoiled us once again. The accommodations are beautiful, warm and very comfortable. David and Jim are so helpful with finding restaurants and places of interest. One of my favorites are the gourmet breakfasts. You will not leave the table hungry! They always have leftover rolls or pastries to take with you after breakfast. I highly recommend the Bellaire B&B.

One of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. Beautiful room-the Tuscany is outstanding-great food and wonderful surroundings. Very highly recommended! The town is also very quaint and friendly.

The house and grounds had the charm of a grand country estate. Lots of history in a quaint northern Michigan village. A gorgeous B&B full of warmth good conversation and plenty of amenities. We can't wait to return in the summer.

Had the most enjoyable experience last weekend for two nights at the BBB. Saturday night was a gourmet murder mystery dinner (sadly, I was the murderer) but the food, the place, the hosts, and the other guests made our stay memorable and totally fantastic! This is a well done/run/fun event that you ought to consider going to some day. They do two a year, it is a blast, and if you go, go large and dress up!!! -- Ken

This was our second stay at the Bellaire B&B, and it was just as fantastic as the first time we stayed. The accommodations are clean and comfortable; the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is fantastic. This is a great choice if you're looking to stay in the area.

We got the last room in the house. The bath was across the hall. The room was a great value. Worried about privacy, not once when we went out of our room did we run into anyone. The food was wonderful, and the wine tasting in the evening was a special treat. Can't wait to return.

They went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable.

We stayed 2 nights to view the fall colors. Our Mackinac room in the annex was really nicely decorated with a great fireplace and comfy King bed. We used the fireplace room downstairs each night to meet with our friends. The wine hour was fun and tasty and the 2 breakfasts by David were to die for. We met his goal of not being hungry until 2:00!!

Once again we enjoyed our getaway at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. Jim and Dave are great hosts, the room was great, and the food is delicious.

Our stay at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast was again wonderful. The property is beautiful, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding. My only complaint is that there was not a television in our room. We like to watch the late eveing news. I would stay there again but would request a room with a television.
4.8 on October 27, 2013
We often stop at B&Bs when traveling, which can be fun, but there are not any that we have stayed at in the past year that compare to the Bellaire B&B. Dave and Jim have spoiled us with their gourmet breakfasts and attention to detail. Must be why we continue to return.
4.2 on October 25, 2013
My wife and I stayed one night in the Mackinaw Room and had a wonderful time. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, and prepared a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of choices. This B&B is only a short walk to downtown, which is convenient since Short's Brewery is right there! Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a quaint small town.

This B & B has by far the best service of any we've visited. Jim and Dave are gracious host, well mannered and very knowledgeable of the area. There is no lack of topic or conversation, engaging each guest. Their hospitality is warm and wonderful.
5 on October 16, 2013
This was the first bed-and-breakfast we've ever stayed in. Dave and Jim were amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. The food at the bed-and-breakfast was gourmet. There is not one thing I would change about our stay. Looking forward to many more getaways at Bellaire bed-and-breakfast!

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding weekend 4 years ago and were very glad to return this year, even for just one night. The Tuscany room was clean and beautiful (as I would expect for almost $300 a night) and the double jacuzzi tub was a relaxing way to end our day. The food was delicious and all the extras provided by Jim and Dave (the "oops I forgot it" kit, snacks, drinks, bath salts) make it that much nicer. The only down side to this B&B is the cost, which as I have trouble spending money on non essential things and I wanted the best room in the house (as that is where we stayed for our wedding) is probably more of a personal thing than an all around problem. I know there are more affordable rooms available there that would also be lovely. We will be returning as soon as we can, and have already recommended it to friends and family.
5 on October 10, 2013
I took my husband there for his birthday and we stayed for 5 nights, everyday was perfect. Every detail was perfect down to hammocks and the wonderful cookies. The grounds were so relaxing, our room was wonderful! Jim and Dave are the best Hosts! The wine gathering was great! We are planing our return visit!
5 on October 09, 2013
We had a wonderful stay at the Bellaire B&B and gave all categories above 5 stars, although the thing my wife was most impressed with was the exemplary cleanliness of the rooms, common areas, etc... There wasn't a speck of dust to be found in our room- not in any nook or cranny. It really felt comfortable and homey.
4.8 on October 07, 2013
My husband and I spent two days at the B&B to celebrate his September birthday. The B&B came highly recommended by family members that have stayed in the past. I instantly fell in love with the tree lined driveway!! The house is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are prefectly manicured. We really enjoyed meeting Dave, Jim, Tucker, and Chips (and other house guests) at the wine hour and we certainly didn't leave the table hungry after breakfast! We even got to take some baked goodies home with us when we departed. Dave and Jim are perfect hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Everything exceeded our expectations and we're looking forward to our next getaway at Bellaire B&B!!
4.8 on October 07, 2013
As repeat customers, we knew what to expect, and, as always, we weren't let down. Dave, Jim and their entire staff are simply the best. Everything from breakfast to the hammock are first class and we always look forward to our next stay.

I had to leave for a conference early in the morning Dave and Jim woke up early to ensure I had breakfast. The wine hour is such a neat idea! It allows guests to interact and exchange ideas. Places they have been and new things to try.

Our first night and first visit to Michigan was at the Bellaire B&B. We stayed the next seven nights in B&B's in northwestern Michigan and the Bellaire was the best of all the great places we stayed. The hosts were the most accommodating, the home the most beautiful and the breakfast the best. We found it on the internet by reading reviews so we hope others will read what we have to say.
5 on September 18, 2013
We tried this place as a referral. This was our first B&B and we loved everything about it. They treat you amazing and you feel taken care of. The room themes are awesome, the food is to die for made on site. We talked to a couple who had been to many B&B's across the country, over the years and they said this is the best one by far. Its worth far more than they charge, Great deal!
5 on September 18, 2013
Have done this on more than one occasion and each time it has been great. The room, grounds, food, social hour, the flowers option have all been top notch. Congrats to Jim and Dave for a job well done in making our stay memorable.
5 on September 18, 2013
We have stayed at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast several times now, and each time is always a pleasure. Dave and Jim are the best hosts, and all the attention to detail is always appreciated. Not sure our waistlines could afford to stay here too often though, as some of the breakfast food is so delicious that you just have to eat second helpings of just about everything. The candied, spiced bacon in particular was way good! This was not our last stay. We will be back.

In need of a break from my daily life at home, Bellaire B&B was the PERFECT "home away from home" base for a few days of relaxation and refreshment. Comfortable and interesting rooms, wonderful porches, gorgeous gardens, delicious food, and a great tree-lined drive up to the beautiful inn--all provide a very special setting to meet other interesting guests from many places and walks of life. Truly an excellent spot for the respite and refreshment I needed. Thanks, Jim and David!

We had a wonderful weekend at Bellaire B & B. The Tuscany room was superb. The hosts have exquisite taste, as well as being extremely congenial and helpful. The food was amazing. I really can't rate the place high enough. Meeting the other guests at breakfast and the wine hour was very nice. The house has a beautiful front porch, and riding the tandem was great for a laugh!

We spent our honeymoon here and it was amazing! We stayed in the Tuscany room, which has a beautiful bathroom they call "The Religious Experience Bathroom" - and for good reason! The rooms are gorgeous and so are the beautiful gardens that surround. The hosts - Dave and Jim - are the most down to earth and humorous folks we've had the pleasure to meet. Did I mention the breakfast? I would come here just to eat the breakfast. I can't wait to get back here!

Wine and cheese in the afternoon, gracious hosts who pay attention to every detail, a room with fireplace/whirlpool/turned-down beds and cookies on the nightstand, and a chef-prepared breakfast which is unforgettable -- you won't be able to stay away from this B and B in the future.
5 on August 31, 2013
What we enjoyed most about our stay at the Bellaire Inn were our conversations with Jim and David. How neat to be able to review the restaurant menus prior to walking up and down the block looking for dinner. Our Inn keeper's commentary on the village, the Cops and Doughnut place in Clare, and meeting Jim's family and other guests was so much fun and a lot of memories to take back home to talk about. As it says on the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast logo - - "Above and Beyond." And that is what you will experience at this lovely spot. The grounds and the inn are maintained meticulously and the warmth and hospitality of the innkeepers cannot be surpassed. Whether it is information about area activities or restaurants, Jim and Dave will eagerly assist you to make your stay enjoyable. While every detail is attended to, the breakfasts deserve special mention. This is a great retreat from wherever you need escape.

We had a great time staying here. We came to Bellaire only to go to the Short's Brewing Company, a beer we tasted in Paris and wanted to try again. We found the Belllaire B&B as a convenient place to stay for this event, but it turned out to be our favorite stop of our 10 day trip around Lake Michigan! We would love to go back here again, maybe for the beer pairing dinner!
3.4 on August 13, 2013
The B&B was very nice and the breakfast was great. The bedroom almost wasn't large enough though to accomodate a queen size bed. The bathroom was very nice but almost as big as the bedroom. Smallest B&B bedroom we have ever stayed at. It would have been nice if the inkeepers had warned us about the room size when we made the reservation. We survived for one night.

This B&B had very welcoming hosts. The grounds were beautiful and the feel of the B&B was relaxing and comfortable. In addition to breakfast, they hosted a wine tasting in the late afternoon. This created an atmosphere to get to know others staying at the B&B if you were so inclined. We even ended up spending time at Shorts with people we met at the B&B. We will surely be back.

Always a pleasure for us to meet new people staying in the B & B but also to meet the landlords of the Inn was very inspiring.

The best way to describe Bellaire B&B is the PERFECT package! Dave and Jim clearly take pride in their work and the environment they create. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is superb, and service is first class. From the wine meet and greet after check in to the chocolates at check out, the attention to fine detail made our stay perfect. This was our first stay at a B&B, and I am fairly confident Bellaire B&B has ruined any other B&B for us.

Stayed at the Bellaire B & B for 2 nights, what a wonderful place! From the time we checked in, and had a glass of wine, which was so nice after traveling 6 hours. until we checked out, everything was done right. The breakfasts were "out of this world" delicious, the house is beautiful, the rooms quiet and clean, Jim and Dave are the perfect hosts. I'll say it one more time...a wonderful B & B !

We have stayed at the Bellaire B&B twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed both stays. The gardens and grounds are beautiful, the common areas and rooms are lovely, the breakfasts are absolutely delicious. It's a really special place! And a convenient spot for exploring the towns, lakes, and restaurants of Northern Michigan. Dave and Jim have created and meticulously maintain a true Michigan gem.

I brought my now Fiance with me to BBB because I wanted an amazing and serene location to pop the question. I surprised her with the visit and as we walked around I asked her in one of the small gardens. It was beautiful and romantic and my Fiance said it was the best weekend ever. She may have been biased but the grounds and room were amazing. The wine social was nice and gave us a chance to meet other guests. We stayed in the Savannah room and thought it was amazing! Thank you!
5 on July 14, 2013
This is our up north place now! We had a home up here for years, but why bother when you can come to the Bellaire B&B, stay in an exquisitely appointed room, have an outstanding breakfast, and nice people to talk to at happy hour every evening. There is a fridge available in both the Carriage and Main Houses for our goodies we buy from Moka down the street. If we don't want to eat out, we enjoy dinner or lunch on the main porch or on the Tuscany Balcony. What beautiful gardens including my favorite hammock. This year we rented a motor boat from the Marina down the street and cruised the chain of lakes and rivers... something we never did when we lived up there because we were too busy taking care of our gardens and house. Jim & Dave do it all instead!
5 on July 12, 2013
This is a beautiful venue both inside and out. Inside you'll find its architecture and decor charming, warm, and inviting. There are lots of attention to little details in every room. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept with flower gardens and stately old trees. I really enjoyed going out on the front porch to have my morning coffee. The inn keepers really go the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
4.8 on July 12, 2013
We spent three nights in the Savannah Room - excellent. We were able to see every room except one on the whole property on one particular day when there was a nearly complete turn-over of guests. The main house rooms are tidy and nice, but pretty small, especially the bathrooms. It is obviously older (older doors, carpets, etc.) though pleasant. However, the Carriage House is much newer, bigger, and much more up our alley. The only room I thought I might like better than the Savannah is the Tuscany - but only because the décor was a little more to my taste. But I would stay in the Savannah again in a heartbeat. Other reviewers have noted that the Carriage House is "noisier" which is true. We had a fan to create a hum at night, and that made it just fine. Breakfast is outstanding every day. The hosts are a little corny with what felt like well-rehearsed shtick, but they obviously take great pride in their work and were very helpful in pointing out where to swim, eat, etc. My husband in particular enjoyed all the "places to be" on the property. The front porch is huge with lots of places to sit/swing/relax. Also, there are two double hammocks on the property. The library in the main house is always available, and the Carriage House has a nice sitting room on the main floor - with a stocked fridge for guests to enjoy. I see why all the reviews are so positive. . . it is a wonderful place to stay.

We have stayed at the Bellaire B&B several times now over the course of 8 years. It is our favorite B&B stay (and we have stayed in quite a few!). Jim and Dave are gracious hosts. They serve a scrumptious breakfast daily, as well as a wine tasting every evening. They are knowledgeable about restaurants and sites around the chain-of-lakes area. We have stayed in the Eastlake, Empire, and Homespun rooms, which are in the main house. We stayed in the Homespun room most recently and rated the room with 4 stars (only because the bed is becoming a little "tired"). We have traveled globally and have never returned to the same vacation spots, but we make the exception for the Bellaire B&B. It is THAT good!

My husband and I spent 5 days here for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. It was exactly what we were looking for. There were so many wonderful details about this place, they had chilled champagne waiting, homemade cookies everyday. The gardens and porches were beautiful with a lot of nice little places to sit and relax. The wine social hours were fun and Jim and Dave were very nice and entertaining. The breakfasts were delicious and kept us full until late in the afternoon. We stayed in the Tuscany room first and then the Savannah just to try both and liked them both about equally. Bellaire was a cute little town with some tasty restaurants. We ate at LuLu's, Moka, and of course Shorts, which originally put Bellaire on the map for us. We like to explore, and Bellaire is close to Traverse city, Charlevoix, Petosky and several smaller towns in between. Overall it was a perfect experience and even better than we expected. We will definitely be back in the future.

Dave and Jim were excellent hosts. The food was intensely fabulous. The town of Bellaire is small with a short main street but with great little shops and restaurants. You must go to their local brewery restaurant "Shorts". The B & B was beautiful. We spent time in the double hammock, browsed the library, enjoyed some time visiting with the hosts and other guests during their happy hour and almost took a ride on their tandem bike. The room had everything you could want or expect to need (including freshly baked cookies next to the bed). In comparison to other B & B's we have stayed, they were outstanding.

The gardens outside was very enjoyable to walk through, many variety of plants and Jim was very knowledgeable about all of them. The breakfasts were out of this world and the scones and muffins that Dave made fresh each morning were delicious. It was a short walk into town if you wanted ice cream, or you could go to Shorts for beers that you will never have anyplace else. Very nice stay and we plan on returning soon.

This was probably my seventh visit and Dave and Jim showed the same outstanding level of service. We arrived an hour early, requested a "heart healthy" breakfast and even had breakfast earlier to accommodate our schedule. The breakfast was delicious and healthy, the bed very comfortable and the room was well appointed and very clean. Bellaire B&B has turned into my home away from home - actually better - nobody brings me cookies at night when I'm at home. KJ

Thank you for the lovely getaway. My wife and I were celebrating and found our room to be perfect for relaxing, and Bellaire is always a great place because of Shortz and Siren Hall in Elk Rapids. Great service at breakfast and a very nice social hour to start off our stay. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I stayed the night in one of the more modest rooms. It was a small room, but the overall experience was great! And we felt our stay had a lot of bang for the buck. The Inn Keepers Jim and David were prompt, friendly, and very accommodating. We would go back in a heartbeat. We LOVED that we had access to mug club member mugs at the local brewery, Short's Brewing Co. The room was cozy and had cookies waiting for us when we arrived. The joint bathroom was clean and had little soaps, shampoos, q-tips etc. Bubble bath was supplied for the large bathtub. There were extra blankets and pillows too. Pretty much anything you might need was in reach. Breakfast was delicious and filling. They served us scones, herb eggs, sausage, and some awesome bacon of their own recipe. If you wanted the recipe for something they cooked, they would gladly print one out for you. I thought that was a cool touch.

From the moment we arrived to the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. The Vintage room, while a little small, was charming and clean. Additionally, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. In the evening, we took advantage of the library, which was stocked with up to date magazines, along with plenty of classical books. The hosts did an amazing job making us feel comfortable at breakfast, which was absolutely delicious! Everything was homemade and hot out of the oven. We would certainly go back again someday!

I was looking to get away from an extremely hectic life for three days. My room was quiet, the house was quiet, breakfast was delicious. I did very little that I was planning on doing during the day; just soaked up the peace and quiet and watched the lilacs' leaves burst out. It was absolutely perfect.

The best B&B we have stayed at. You will be hard pressed to find another B&B like this in regards to their facilities and breakfast.

Excellent stay and would come back. Great service and rooms
5 on April 21, 2013
Been to 17 different B & B's. This is the only one we keep going back to. The hosts, the house, the breakfasts and the area great.

You will not find a more comfortable, more welcoming, more hospitable B&B anywhere. Jim and David, your hosts, make everyone feel right at home! The Bellaire B&B is the best I have ever stayed in! Look no further!

Dedication to details is what sets this inn apart...Looking for a place to be spoiled? then this is your place...fresh cookies in the room, refrigerator stocked with light beverages, fresh coffee, wine hour, even your bed turned down!...We had a lovely stay and will return again...thank you, dave, jim and staff!

My wife and I stayed for the 2nd time at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast from April 1st thru 3rd, 2013. We wanted a chance to get away from our busy home lives and just unwind for a few days. Our stay at the BB&B was exactly what we needed. Dave and Jim go above and beyond in the attention to detail category to make your stay with them feel like you're staying with an old friend. I can't say enough about the breakfasts- phenomenial! With Short's Brewery a stumbling distance up the road and Traverse City within a 45 minute drive you have access to everything you need nearby. Thanks again Jim and Dave, we will be back again. Hopefully, sooner than later. Eric/Emily Macomb Twp.

I went to Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for a mommy's time-out:) I have stayed there several times before and always find it relaxing. The attention to detail from the hosts is exemplary.

My wife and I are always looking for a B&B that we consider a “go to” B&B. This B&B is it. Jim, Dave, and Sue may you feel so comfortable from the time you enter to the time you leave. They are committed to excellence. When I said I was recently diagnosed with Gluten intolerance, instead of making a breakfast for me, making me self-conscious, they made a delicious breakfast entrée for everyone. They even shared where they buy gluten free flour, and shared several of their recipes. Another example of their caring attitude was when one of the guests was disappointed that they didn’t have a certain tea. The next day David had the tea on the table. David had made a special trip that day to buy the tea. The guest said, “David didn’t have to do that”. Sue said, “Oh, well, that’s just David!” We are going to come back here for such great caring people.

If you decide to stay at Bellaire B & B you are in for a treat! This is an amazing place. The beautiful rooms (although the pictures on their website are lovely, they truly don't do them justice), the delicious breakfasts and the tastefully selected wines for the daily wine/social hour are all reflective of Jim's and Dave's attention to detail and thoughtfulness. These are two innkeepers that surely know how to welcome and create a comfortable environment for their guests. The more time you spend with them the more you like them and see that their hand is in all the goodness that is Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to coming back!
4.6 on April 13, 2013
A beautiful house; all the rooms are very attractive and accurately depicted on the website. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Every breakfast was delicious; I am a vegetarian and there were always meatless options included for me. The town, itself, is quite charming; everything (shops, restaurants, etc.) is within easy walking distance and Traverse City, Petoskey and Charlevoix are all 45 minutes to an hour's drive away. I have already re-booked for next year, does that say something?
4.8 on April 06, 2013
We have stayed here four times now and can't wait to go back. The rooms are luxurious and meticulously kept; breakfasts are delicious and creative, and the house itself is beautiful. Make a trip down that tree-lined drive and you won't want to leave.

What a wonderful weekend we had staying at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast! David and Jim are the best hosts. They made us feel very welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated and we felt right at home. And the breakfasts that were served were beyond our expectations! I would recommend the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast to everyone - in fact we already have!

The Bellaire B and B provides an Oasis for a traveler. Exceeds by a large margin any lodging in the area. All lodging details are well thought out and provided. Friendly hosts and staff are wonderful and helpful. Will stay again when back in Bellaire.

The gracious hospitality of the owners, the comfortable and extremely clean rooms, the fabulous breakfasts, and the lovely surroundings all created a cozy and wonderful weekend for our family.

My daughter and son-in-law took my husband and myself up to the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast to celebrate our birthday's which are a day apart. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and they couldn't have chosen a better one.The place is outstanding! The rooms are so cozy and comfortable and our hosts were so inviting making our weekend stay there an absolute pleasure. The location is excellent. It was within walking distance to town where we also experienced our first visit to Shorts Brewery which we heard so much about. I would definately stay at this B&B again and have recommended it to several of my friends.I also need to mention the fabulous breakfast's we were served everyday....Delicious!!!!!
5 on March 05, 2013
In addition to our room exceeding our expectations, the location of the BB&B was convenient to the town. Being close to town was great because there are some wonderful restaurants to experience. The hosts were very accommodating. We also enjoyed the lounge area with fireplace and morning coffee, really comfortable and a great place to relax!

We booked two rooms at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast to celebrate my mom's 60th Birthday and my dad's 61st Birthday. My parents had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and loved their expereince. From the cookies left on the bed side to the wonderful morning breakfast they were impressed with all the details. They even enjoyed a beer at Shorts in a mug (one of the highlights for them). My husband and I have been staying at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for the last three years. We love the Bellaire area and always have a wonderful stay with David and Jim. My mom keeps asking me now when we are going back becuase they want to tag along on our next trip. Probably should have kept this place a secret from them :)
5 on February 06, 2013
This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast for myself and my boyfriend. Our expectations for the weekend were exceeded. Rooms were very clean, welcomed us with fresh baked cookies daily. Rooms were cleaned while we ate breakfast. Breakfast - the food was amazing! There was no shortage of food and it tasted great! Dave and Jim were excellent hosts. I will definately recommend this place to others!

David and Jim were excellent hosts, the breakfasts were exceptional, the local travelling advice was informed and useful. They were well aware of what to do know matter what we wanted to do (mill store in Alden, restaurants in Elk Rapids, or shopping in Traverse City). We'll return.

Best place in the area to stay. Lovely rooms, delicious breakfasts. Dave and Jim are great hosts. Walking distance to town with good restaurants and nice shops.
5 on January 04, 2013
What can I say? It was fabulous from start to finish. We were pampered, well fed, entertained, given gracious accomodations in a beautiful setting. There are fresh cookies, a guest refrigerator, bubble bath and clawfoot tubs. Jim and Dave are charming, each contributing their own special talents. and their staff are helpful. We read by the fireplace, enjoyed wine and appetizers. The price was fantastic and I will be back, again and again.

Loved the B&B, Only thing I didn't like was the speech givin at Breakfast about not forgetting any power chargers, laptop charges, phone charges ect. I was trying to enjoy the companyof the other guest at the dinning room table. The speech was over the top and I felt totally not necessary!
5 on December 16, 2012
We will definatly be coming back to Bellaire B&B when we stay in Bellaire!! The service was fantastic! Dave was right! Once you stay at a B&B you'll never want to go to a hotel again! Love these guys! Wonderful service, great company and very very clean and tidy rooms. Stumbling distance from the main street of Bellaire. :)

It is always a great time when we stay at Bellaire B&B. The food is awesome! Dave and Jim are always very friendly and always there if you should need anything. It's a wonderful place to stay. I would recommend to everyone looking for a beautiful place to stay at a responsible price along with great food and company!

We stayed at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for the Short's Brewery weekend. This was our third stay at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are charming and the breakfasts are out of this world. The B&B hosted the Shorts Brewery dinner, pairing microbrew with wonderful food for dinner. We went with another couple and enjoyed playing board games in the living room in the evening. This is a great way to spend a weekend.
5 on November 15, 2012
The motto here is "Above and Beyond", and this is what you experience. The hosts and staff are amazing people; the breakfasts are second to none; the atmosphere is one of "Welcome to your home away from home -- only better!" We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here a few years ago, and now this B&B is our "up north" destination -- our 7th visit. Close enough for day trips to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas, Charlevoix and Petoskey, to name a few. Stay at the Bellaire B&B. You will not be disappointed.

I have staye at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast before and found it delightful and class then, as it is now. I highly recommend it for a comfortable, homey stay. I especially like the parlor in the morning where I could read the newspaper and enjoy coffee before everyone else was awake. It was perfect.

Room was beautiful and clean. Food was wonderful and we took some exta home. Dave and Jim are great hosts. We stay here as often as possible, but always on our anniversary and birthday. They always provide something special for those special dates. We also give gift certificates to friends so they can experience the great B & B.

Wonderfully well-run Inn - delicious breakfasts, charming host. All in all, a great experience; one we would repeat in a heartbeat!

We have made Bellaire a bi-annual getaway. It is beautiful in all seasons, although we enjoy the room so much that sometimes we come out only for meals! The breakfast is always incredible -- gourmet dishes made from unique recipes that keep one satisfied until supper. We also love LuLu's Bistro, just down the street, for fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to relax, whether by yourself or with a group. Dave and Jim as well as their staff are warm and friendly; their attention to detail is impeccable. We have been coming to Bellaire Bed and Breakfast several times a year for the last 15 years and and have also brought many friends who have now become regulars as well. It's one of the places I go when I really want to get away from it all. Ben Boerkoel

We're repeat customers at the Bellaire B&B, so we knew what to expect; a very relaxing, enjoyable and accomodating stay, which is just what we experienced, again......thanks to the owners and their excellent staff. I'd give them 6 stars if you'd let me! If you're looking for a fine, fine B&B in the northern Michigan area, this is the one to book at, you will not be disappointed.

As a single female traveler who frequents B&B's, I was happy to experience and happy to report that the hospitality, comfort, and genuine concern by the Innkeepers is excellent! The breakfast is outstanding with attention given to each guest's dietary needs. In my case, I was surprised to enjoy a substitute protein( I am vegetarian) as well as an array of local and healthy yummy food! The Innkeepers were also generous with their time, mapping out local excursions and sharing insider knowledge. I would definitely recommend this B&B for couples and singles and can't wait to go back!

I had a fabulous time at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast! It felt like I was staying at an old friend's house. The food was delicious and the home is cozy. I will be back for sure! I would recommend staying here to everyone.

This was our second visit to Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. We will continue to return here. Its your home away from home. David and Jim are wonderful innkeepers, the rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean. Its a great hub for all kinds of activities in the area. This is a great example of Northern Michigan hospitality. Did I mention the great breakafst ???? Dan & Nancy

My Wife and I would recommend staying here for any travel in Northern Michigan. Jim and Dave made you feel like you've known them for years. The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. They were very helpful with things to do as well as where to dine.
5 on September 20, 2012
This was our fourth stay at B B&B and that is saying a lot for us as we rarely go back to the same place twice! The rooms are just as they are pictured on their website, cozy, clean and comfortable. Dave and Jim set the standard for bed and breakfast stays. They are warm kind people that truly enjoy sharing their home (and recipes!) with others. Bellaire is a beautiful friendly town with nice shops and great restaurants that are all within walking distance. After breakfast maps, suggestions and recommendations are provided to make your day more enjoyable as you explore the area. If you have never stayed at a B & B try this one and I guarantee you will be back. Cindy and Steve Henderson

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights here, and had a great experience. We arrived late on Friday, which was after the owners packed up, and found an envelope with the keys and welcome letter. There were cookies waiting for us in the room. The next morning, we were greeted by the owners, and breakfast was very yummy. The candied bacon was delicious! We were also given a map and detailed directions to the places we wanted to go. They also provide a good supply of bottled and can drinks, snacks and energy bars to grab for the road. The next morning, we had an equally yummy breakfast, and even get to pack the leftover bread back. They had a tandem bicycle which we rode to downtown and it was lots of fun. The place is cozy, clean and warm. Owners are friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place.
5 on September 16, 2012
A true gem in northern Michigan. The property is a peaceful haven with lovely gardens and a tree lined drive. It's a short walk away to bustling little downtown/small town complete with a brew pub. The Tuscan room was just right and Dave and Jim were wonderful inn keepers. A have to say though...it's the creme brulee french toast with masticated raspberries that I have been dreaming about...yum Joni (and Marty) Detwiler

The rooms are beautiful and immaculate! The breakfast was delicious. I've made a few of the recipes in their newsletter and they were great. We had a wonderful time. So glad we stayed there. Jim and David are wonderful people and the make you feel very welcomed.
5 on September 12, 2012
The grounds and house are absolutely beautiful. The decor is perfect, not overdone or tacky in the least (as is often the case at B&Bs). The food is beyond amazing. Knowing we were going to Short's for dinner and a few brews, Jim and David made sure to let us know the B&B has mugs available for use by their guests, which was a pleasant bonus. Strong WiFi signal throughout. Jim and David are wonderful hosts who obviously enjoy what they do. I can't recommend a stay here more.
5 on September 12, 2012
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Dave and Jim are fantastic. We attended the wine social hour and they had a wonderful refreshing selection. Additionally they gave lots of recommendations for wonderful places to dine. The breakfast provided the next day was absolutely fantastic and was stuffed afterwards. The room was clean and there was plenty of amenities provided.

The details of the rooms equal if not surpass a 5-star hotel. Peaceful setting with great restaurants in the vicinity. Scrumptious breakfast... "eat eat, make papa proud", and adjusted for my non-cholesterol diet! Such a special setting! This place seems to attract such interesting people, which makes the evening wine tastings, hosted by Jim & Dave, that much more fun. We stayed four nights and wish we could have stayed longer. One day we just toured the wineries in the area! Another day antiquing, then the food, then the water sports... splendid vacation.

My husband and always stay at B&Bs or small inns. We love old homes. This is the best-maintained old home we have stayed in. Often we are a bit disappointed that the home is still in need of much TLC. It was nice for a change to stay in an older home where the windows were clean. The hosts were gracious and attended to much detail. The only draw back we encountered was insufficient lighting for putting on my makeup (a small problem).

This was a return visit to the Bellaire B and B and we will be back!! Fabulous!! We met so many nice people from around the US- Dave and Jim are the perfect hosts- the breakfasts are wonderful beyond words and we then didn't eat until dinner- well we did enjoy Happy Hour at the B and B from 5-6 with Jim and Dave and most of the guests. There are so many fun places to drive to and you can also walk into town to eat- drink and shop! The rooms- CLEAN doesn't describe how clean they are- and the rooms are so well decorated. You feel like you are the first ones to be in the room- along with homemade chocolate chip cookies by your bed at night!! :)) Please don't miss this one- FABULOUS!!

What a perfect way to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary! Every detail was A-1 starting with the complimentary bottle of champagne. Bellaire is so very lovely and the grounds / gardens add the extra special touch. Gourmet breakfast by Dave was exceptional and we enjoyed the wine get together at cocktail hourwhere we met some very interesting fellow guests. Enjoyed exploring the area which offers quaint little towns with fancy dancy shops. We will surely return.

Under the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast literature are the words "Above and Beyond". These words aptly describe our experience staying in this lovely home. Innkeepers, Jim and David, went above and beyond what we would expect in making our stay memorable and enjoyable. And we would need more superlatives to describe the wonderful breakfast they served. We have stayed at bed and breakfasts in the US and Europe, and rate the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast at the top of our list.
5 on August 20, 2012
We recently stayed at Bellaire B&B and loved every moment of our stay. The inn is beautiful and meticulously kept, our room was gorgeous, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful and attentive. Our gourmet breakfast was delicious and fun, and our hosts even prepared to-go containers with left over baked goods for our trip home. We will definitely make the trip all the way back up to Bellaire just to stay with them again. (Jim & David may have ruined B&B's everywhere for us, because I don't think anyone else can compare!)

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful B&B. Happy hour every evening at 5 and if that was not enough, homemade cookies on the night stand before bed! The breakfast was the finest I have ever tasted B&B style. I am not kidding, the food was fabulous. And last but not least the hosts Dave and Jim, were attentive and delightful. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

My Wife and I were overwhelmed by how friendly the guests were - and David and Jim were fantastic hosts. We have stayed at 6-8 different B&B's, and this was by far the most positive experience we have had. Breakfast both mornings of our stay was amazing! We barely ate the rest of the day, and we took leftovers with us each day.... We will be back!

Outstanding service. Fantastic breakfast items. You never need to leave the area for any reason, fine dining and local shopping too.
5 on August 08, 2012
Our stay was lovely, beginning with a tree-lined drive up to beautiful grounds and a greeting at the door by one of the inn keepers. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and offered plenty of relaxation. Social hour in the evenings included great company, good wine and a tasty treat. Breakfast was much the same with good converstaion among guests, amazing food and a perfect start to the day! Perhaps our favorite part of the stay was the little "fairies" that snuck up to your room every chance they got to replenish your towels, tidy up, draw your shades and turn down your bed. They would even leave fresh baked cookies each time! We were impressed with the service and will DEFINITELY be returning again soon.

This was the best bed and breakfast that my husband and I have ever been to. The hospitality was outstanding! The food delicious! We will definitely be back! The only recommendation that I would have is to place TV's in the rooms.

Don't hesitate to book this fantastic B&B. David and Jim are wonderful hosts. The home is beautiful, comfortable and clean and the morning breakfasts are out of this world. I can't recommend the Bellaire B&B enough. Fantastic!!!
5 on August 02, 2012
We loved our stay at Bellaire and HIGHLY recommend it! A very pleasant, engaging and funny greeting from Jim got us started. Great restaurant recommendations led us to a fun dinner at Short's Brewery. The room was beautiful, and the Mrs. raved about it the entire stay. We had the Eastlake room, with a perfect small, private deck accessed by French doors. I would have liked the bed to be a bit softer, but I've had lots of back problems so I'm likely not a good baseline. Breakfast on our first morning really can't be described in mere words. Dave is a magnificent chef, with VERY creative dishes that we loved. I really can't say enough about the food! Everything served on both of our mornings was wonderful. On our only full day we took a drive up the Leelenau peninsula. Bellaire is close enough for the drive to be pleasant, but no so close as to be too busy when returning in the evening. Wine hour (5:00 to 6:00) on our full day was outstanding. We're not wine experts by any means, so we took Jim's suggestions and he was spot on. We had great conversation with some of the other guests and with Jim and Dave. It was absolutely amazing how much the two of them knew about EVERYTHING in the area. Dave helped out another couple with kayak rentals with a simple phone to a nearby town. They seemed to know everyone and everything. It was a great time. We will be back. It's not anymore complicated than that! CW & RR - 26-28JUL2012

Staying with David and Jim is always a wonderful experience. From the room design to the thoughtful items in the room, cookies on the bed stand and enjoying a glass of wine on the breezway it's all designed to make you feel special. Breakfasts are always amazing along with the company.

I booked a B&B as a suggestion from my significant other. I had never stayed at a B&B before, and we were going to be in the Bellaire area for a charity event, and to celebrate his birthday. I spent days researching places in the area, and came upon Bellaire B&B. To make a long story short, we arrived at the Bellaire B&B, and my breath was taken away. We were greeted at the door with warmth and a smile. The grounds were well landscaped, and the interior well-organized, clean, and inviting. Wine social hour was a great way to meet other guests. Just a short walk away from the downtown area. The rooms had all the amenities of home. The private balcony allowed for good conversation and drinks. Breakfast was phenomenal!! For the cost, definitely a recommendation for those passing through the Bellaire. Thank you so much for making our vacation memorable!!!

We took a "B to the fourth" vacation. Staying at a B & B then biking and stopping at breweries. It was a quickly planned vacation, just two weeks before leaving. We knew we wanted to go to Shorts Brewery so I looked online for B & B's in the area. So glad that I found the Bellaire B & B online. What a beautiful place The owners were so welcoming and the breakfast in the mornings were outstanding!!! Wished we could have stayed longer, but since I noticed that most of the other guests were repeaters, I knew that we would also return.

I reserved the room to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was delightful! The inn is charming and we felt very relaxed during our stay. The only problem was that the breakfast was so delicious we were full for the day!
5 on July 17, 2012
Mildly secluded, yet a short walking distance into town for a meal or freshly brewed beverage. Very nice grounds and common rooms for relaxing, snacks and beverages available all day and a social glass of wine in the afternoon (included). Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Uncommon hospitality.

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights at the Bellaire B&B for a few days of relaxation in northern Michigan. We strayed in the Tuscany room which had every comfort you might want and plenty of room to relax. The grounds are beautiful, the breakfasts are amazing and the innkeepers are wonderful.

The room we stayed in (Tuscany) was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There were snacks and drinks available 24/7. The grounds surrounding the B&B are gorgeous! The location was convenient, within walking distance to downtown Bellaire and Short's Brewery and a short drive to Torch Lake and Traverse City. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bellaire B&B and would definitely vacation there again.

My wife and I recently visited the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for the third time, this time bringing four of our friends. As always, Jim and Dave were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing the perfect blend of relaxing activities available at the B&B and time and assistance in helping us enjoy the surrounding area. They were willing to work the breakfast menu around food requests for our party, and still provided a fantastic meal. Even better, I believe (though don't know for sure) that they sorted guests into rooms such that our party had a significant amount of space to ourselves, allowing us to enjoy the common areas without worrying about disturbing other guests. Of all the B&Bs my wife and I have stayed at, Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is the only one I am 100% sure we will visit again. Great job, Dave and Jim!

The staff at The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is "over the top" ! They did everything perfect to make our visit one of the most comfortable and enjoyable ever. The ambience of the BBB, the food, the evening wine and cheese guest hour and the engaging hosts are only a few of the shining stars of our holiday. Larry and Rebecca Dobler

Bellaire Bed & Breakfast was the perfect stop on my road trip. David and Jim have created a friendly, warm, welcoming environment where one can really relax and do nothing in a beautiful setting, or, with their expert guidance, go off to see some of the wonders of the region. The room, a great value, was quite comfortable and private - and the breakfasts, oh, the breakfasts. It is obvious that Jim and David care. I recommend Bellaire Bed and Breakfast - totally! - Deborah

Wow!! If you are ever in the Bellaire/Traverse City area in northern Michigan, you have to stay at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. It is in a quaint, small town about a half hour's drive from TC. The main drive is lined with large trees and the house is immediately inviting. There are 5 rooms in the main house and a newer Carriage House with 4 rooms. The two buildings are connected by a breezeway where wine hour is held each afternoon from 5-6 with light hor'dourves. Some rooms have fireplaces and some jacuzzi tubs. The common areas, including the wrap-around front porch are very relaxing. There are also two hammocks for lounging in the yard, Dave is the master breakfast maker and Jim takes care of the beautiful grounds. This is a perfect, peaceful retreat with many day trips available in the area. They offer specials throughout the year and helped us celebrate our anniversary with a complimentary bottle of champagne. We highly recommend this one and will be going back again soon!! Check out their website.

We spent two nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The social hour gave us a chance to meet other guests and find out all about the great places to eat in and around Bellaire. The breakfasts were delicious (the raspberry stuffed french toast was unbelievable). We will definitely make a return to this beautiful, restful place.

I'm never disappointed when I stay at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are beautiful and the food outstanding. Thamks Jim and Dave!
5 on May 23, 2012
Jim and Dave go beyond to make your stay a great experience. The wine social hour from 5 to 6 is a great time to get to know the owners and ask questions about things to do in the area. The breakfast at 9:00 is amazing... we have had several occasions now to experience the breakfast at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast and something you do not want to miss. Jim loves to garden and the grounds showcase his hard work. Take time to stop and spend a night or two or.... at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast.

Words cannot express how wonderful this place is! This was my 5th visit to this Bed and Breakfast. Each time I visit I feel as though I am coming home! Dave and Jim do a wonderful job at making their guests feel special. This visit was for my bachelorette party and I was so happy to share this place with my friends. The rooms include everything you could possibly need for a vacation. The breakfasts are outstanding and you never leave hungry!!! The inn keepers also wrap up leftovers for you to take with you of the baked goods. This Bed and Breakfast offers a wine hour, which is great to attend because you get a chance to know the owners and meet other people standing at the B&B. Bellaire is a quaint little town which many great shops and restaurants to visit! The B&B have mugs at Shorts Brewery you may use for a discount. If you are looking for a great Up North experience be sure to visit this place.

Bellaire B&B is truly a world-class property. Had the pleasure to visit in April (2012) and we were thrilled by the property and service. I am also allergic to dogs and cats and although they do have them on the property, they are not allowed in the main house and I didn't have any hint of a reaction - a testament to the cleanliness of the rooms. Oh, come hungry - the breakfast is incredible.
5 on May 07, 2012
We were greeted very warmly when we arrived by Jim and Dave. The room my husband and I stayed in(Tuscany room) exceeded our expectations for a 10 year anniversary getaway. We also enjoyed getting to know other couples during the Wine Social hour. I can not say enough about the breakfast! It was FABULOUS! You won't walk away hungry and if you do then that is your fault. lol... Kudos to Jim and Dave

I reserved rooms at the Bellaire B&B sight unseen. I needed to be in Bellaire and the family enjoys B&Bs. For 30 years my wife and I have traveled throughout the US and Europe and, when we can, we stay at B&Bs. The Bellaire B&B is without a doubt one of the very best. Five stars all the way - and just over-the-top breakfasts.
4.6 on April 30, 2012
Stayed at the Bellaire B&B for several days. I have never stayed at a B&B before and was convinced by a relative to give it a try. I would honestly have to say that it was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at any lodging that I have ever had. The only complaint I have would be the bed and pillows. The bed and pillows were just too firm for my liking. Now taking into account that those are more "personal preferences", I understand that some people prefer that type of bedding. Jim and Dave were extremely hospitable, and both went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. Every day breakfast was different. And every day you felt that there was no way they could out do themselves, which they continued to do during our entire stay. The grounds were immaculate and everywhere you looked you saw their "personal touch". The most enjoyable time for me would have to be waking up as the sun came up and smelling the breakfast being made. After showering and making my way downstairs, I found the coffee already made and waiting. Taking a cup of coffee and venturing out on the front porch I was able to sit and relax, enjoying the sun coming up and watching the birds and squirrels start their day. The only thing that would have made this visit even more perfect would be if my wife could have made the trip with me. I think a future trip will definitely be in the makings.

Another amazing stay at the Bellaire B&B--enhanced this time by the delicious and fun Shorts Lovers Weekend. We love that our favorite room, the Tuscany, can be a destination stay for us as it is a great space in which to read, nap, visit quietly, and gaze out the window at the lovely scenery--this time it was to watch spring emerging from winter. Thanks, Jim, for the lovely grounds--such pretty spring flowers already in bloom. Thanks, Dave, for the delicious breakfasts. Thanks to both of you for taking such good care of your guests and for creating this new special weekend event that was perfect. Thanks to Monica and the rest of your staff, too, for all they do to make our stay such a great experience. As we depart each time, we already are looking forward to our next stay. Joanne and Roger

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was a home (although much nicher than ours) away from home. The service was wonderful and welcoming, given in such a way that makes you want to stay there an extra night. If you are ever in the North Country (Northern MI) this is the place to stay.

We have stayed at the Bellaire B&B before and know that we can depend on them for a luxurious and sparkling clean room, as well as creatively delicious breakfasts. There are lots of little touches, like fresh-baked cookies at our bedside, turndown service, and a guest living room stocked with snacks, pop, coffee, ice water, etc. Great place to feel pampered and get away from it all.

We came back for more! My wife and I are travel often. For our mid winter break we came back to the Bellaire B&B to celebrate our 30th anniversary weekend. As before, we greatly enjoyed the Tuscany Room with it's huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The bedroom with balcony also has a wonderful, warm gas log fireplace and love seat. The views outside are of a winter wonderland. At the gourmet breakfast we really enjoyed the company of other couples having a good time too. Never had a better breakfast! We walked 5 minutes downtown and enjoyed great meals at Lulu's and Shorts. On Saturday night we had the great pleasure of discovering a terrific new band at Shorts too. For a weekend to remember fondly stay at the Bellaire B&B and enjoy it all. We've already reserved our room for next year! Doug and Laurie from Traverse City

This was the most fabulous weekend get away I have ever had the privilege of experiencing! While there are great adventures abounding right outside the door in the delightful town of Bellaire - you won't want to leave the luxurious comfort and hospitality Jim and Dave have created in their bed and breakfast. We couldn't stop marveling at all the careful details and thoughtful amenities that seemed never ending. DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST - amazing, delicious and if I could find a way to sneak out those recipes I would - Baked Oatmeal, Tollhouse Scones, Raspberry Danish, Banana Bread, delicious house blend coffee, cherry juice, etc..!! We also had the chance to join our hosts during their "Manager's Hour" for a little conversation and drinks; delightful, interesting wines and a whitefish pate I'll be dreaming about for a while!! We stayed in the Brighton Room in the carriage house and it was so perfect I almost hate to spread the word for fear it won't be available!! King sized brass bed, oversized claw-foot tub (with an assortment of bubble baths), overstuffed chairs, fireplace, softest throw blankets, dvd player, books and all gorgeously appointed and squeeky clean!! A quick jaunt downstairs to a common living room afforded more books, games, newspapers, snacks, sodas, glass and plateware - anything you could think of! And did I mention homebaked, hot out of the oven cookies at turn down service?!?! You absolutely MUST stay at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast!

I recently spent a couple nights here with my boyfriend for his 30th birthday. It was fabulous! We stayed in the tuscany room and it was supremely clean and relaxing. The bed was deluxe with a beautiful gas fireplace at its feet. The jetted tub was huge and clean and they provided bath salts, amongst many other things (i.e., fresh baked cookies every morning!, water soda and snacks, the list goes on...) The hosts are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. The property is GORGEOUS! I can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B. We will be planning a trip back! (p.s.... a 0.3 mile, 5 minute, walk to Short's Brewery... PERFECT!)

This is the place to stay for if you want to experience everything that a bed & breakfast should be. This was our second visit and we hope to come back again. The hosts, David & Jim, have thought of absolutely everything to make guests comfortable. Each room is uniquely decorated and perfectly clean. The library is inviting with its fireplace, wine and snacks, and good company. The breakfast is to die for! We enjoyed rasberry stuffed French toast with maple syrup, fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade muffins, and breakfast sausage along with specialty coffee and drinks. You will not be disappointed!

This was our second time staying here and the food, rooms, and hosts were outstanding.
5 on January 04, 2012
The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was our first experience outside of a hotel, and was truly wonderful. We stayed in the carriage house, had lots of privacy, a beautifully spacious room with lots of fun decorations, and by far the cleanest place we've ever stayed at. We loved having access to hot water with tea, how the owners specialized the meals for us, and that every time we left our room "fairies" came in and made it look lovely for us. We've already re-booked out next stay.

The Bellaire B&B is the finest we have ever stayed in (and we've been around)! Jim and Dave have thought of every detail and perfected them. The inn is so beautiful and immaculately clean. My husband and I have spent our anniversary here the last three years in a row and can't imagine going anywhere else. Wine time in the evening is a nice way to get to know the hosts and other guests. Dave's breakfasts are phenomenal!! I really can't say enough about the inn or recommend it highly enough! Also check out Lulu's in town for a four star meal.

My husband and I visited Bellaire for a quick trip for my birthday. Upon arrival, the staff was waiting for us and they even gave us a complimentary upgrade since there was some work being done below the room we had reserved. Also, because it was my birthday they gifted us a lovely bottle of champagne! The room was fantastic and super clean, and I don't even know where to start with the amazing breakfast! As their saying goes, "If you're hungry before 2:00pm, then you were too polite!" I definitely wasn't hungry before 2:00 ;-) I would recommend this B&B to anyone, and we cannot wait to go back!

We have stayed at this B & B three times now and every visit is wonderful. The innkeepers are warm and inviting, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, the inn is pristine, and the food is fabulous. We have stayed in two different rooms - the largest and the smallest and both exceeded our expectations. The cookies in the room on arrival are delicious. The wine and appetizers are a great treat in the early evening and also allow you to mingle with other guests. Breakfast is delicious and they cater to any dietary needs - I am vegetarian and they happily accommodated my needs and those of my meat-eating husband! This B & B is conveniently located to downtown - easy walk to Short's or Lulu's which we also recommend. All in all, always a wonderful experience.

Jim and Dave immediately make you feel like old friends visiting again and again. The grounds are breath-taking while also maintaining a feel of cozy comfort. The main house and carriage house are impeccably decorated. You will quickly feel right at home in any season! And breakfast is always amazing!! There are a variety of rooms and prices for any budget (and they offer specials!) Don't pass up an opportunity to try this beautiful experience! You won't regret it!!

The stay in the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was fabulous. It started with Monica, who tried to accommodate all of our many wishes to find a good restaurant for dinner. We arrived late, however the innkeeper David still took the time to great us, chat with us and he also gave us great advice on how to spend this late evening in Bellaire. The room was fantastic, tasteful and clean. It was a room that made you feel comfortable from the first minute. It was the 50th birthday of my husband and they surprised us with a very tasty bottle of champagne. In the morning the second innkeeper Jim provided interesting morning conversation accompanied by a great breakfast. The tips that Jim gave us were insightful and allowed us to spend another wonderful day in the Bellaire area. Thanks again from Roman & Uli

This isn't the first time I've stayed at this bed and breakfast. Every time I come, I'm never disappointed. The grounds are immaculate, gorgeous and calming. The rooms are charming and comfortable. The breakfast is something you will never forget. And don't forget about happy hour. From the cookies before bed to the chocolate truffles at checkout, you will come away feeling relaxed and spoiled. I can't say I've stayed at another bed and breakfast that even compares to this.

This is a wonderful place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.
5 on July 15, 2011
We've stayed here many times, and have always been delighted with the elegance of the rooms, the exceptional attention to detail, the sumptuous breakfasts, and the outstanding level of guest service. This is the only place we'd ever consider staying in Northern Michigan, and we've never encountered its equal anywhere else in our travels. Bravo, Jim and David!!!

My husband and I have stayed at a few b&bs over the years and the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is by far the best. The owners welcome you like your family and you instantly feel at ease. The wine hour is great and it is a great way to meet you breakfast companions. The breakfast are wonderful. The rooms are beautiful and inviting. I have recomended this bed and breakfast to my friends and family. I hope to continue to go their for years to come

Great people, wine and snacks and lively discussions. Unbelievably unique breakfasts. Can't say enough enough about Dave and Jim. The best people....
5 on June 25, 2011
We stayed in the Mackinac room, but had a chance to peek in others. Each room is beautifully decorated and spacious with its own personality. The carriage house has its own inviting living area apart from the main house, so guests are not on top of each other. A covered walkway connects the two buildings, which is a very nice feature during a downpour. As a gardener, I loved the flower beds Jim has created. Our hosts have been in the business 15 years and have got it down! We will definitely go back. Cheryl Weeks-Rosten

Simply could not have been any better....We Loved It! Thank You David and Jim
5 on June 08, 2011
Our room, "Brighton" was meticulously cleaned and beautifully appointed, with a serene view overlooking the back gardens and woods. The British seaside theme with details of monkeys, parrots and lovely big comfy wingback chair. Not kitschy, but sophisticated fun. We always meet the most interesting people at Wine Hour and breakfast (which is scrumptious). When we return next month, I don't think we'll even get in our car to drive anywhere, but just walk to downtown, shop, dine and go bike riding. How relaxing.
4.4 on June 08, 2011
From the moment we arrived we were given the white glove treatment. There was nothing more they could have done to make our visit more enjoyable and relaxing. Fresh cookies in our room when we arrived was just the start. We enjoyed sitting on the beautifully decorated porch with outstanding landscaping surrounding us while we enjoyed a glass of wine with the owners and other guests. I could go on about breakfast too. It was a great getaway for my husband and I.

The Savannah Room was beautiful, but I did encounter a problem trying to get my sister to leave the Fainting Couch. It seems that it was too comfortable! Once I got her up off the fainting couch, Dave and Jim provided a delicious breakfast and outstanding service.

This B and B in Bellaire was beyond anything that we ever expected. The room, the Savannah Room, was gorgeous and you would swear it had just opened- plus chocolate chip cookies each night. Wonderful, wonderful breakfast plus a wine hour from 5-6 every night. The hosts, Dave and Jim, made us feel so welcome- and it is beyond clean!! Please check it out and stay here- the area is great for walking too.

My wife and I use the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast as the standard to which we compare all others. Nowhere else has come close.

We had a most relaxing stay at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast! Our room was comfortable with very quiet surroundings. The Bellaire B & B had many amenities available to us, including wine tasting, massages, great food, informative discussions about the home & its original owners, home-made chocolate cookies in our room and very helpful data regarding the town of Bellaire and its surrounding area.
5 on April 11, 2011
Our nearly last minute request for an accomodation at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was not only granted, but enthusiatically offered. We are seasoned B&Bers and everything at Bellaire was a notch above wonderful, especially the gormet breakfast, served with pride and a touch of storytelling and humor by our host.

We have stayed in Belaire area for many years. This place is a jewel. Every detail is thought of and attended to. We enjoy everything about the place: the rooms, grounds, people, food and well behaved dogs. Just go!

5 on February 07, 2011
Not much to say other than it was the best stay my significant other and I have ever had at a B&B. Would gladly do it again.
5 on February 01, 2011
The room were outstanding we had a fireplace which added a cozy touch. The inn keepers were friendly and knowledgable about the area. Breakfast was awesome, the best we have ever had when staying a a B&B.

Can not imagine how our stay could have been more satisfying or comfortable. Jim & Dave are gracious and generous hosts presiding over very well run establishment. Their local knowledge was very helpful in filling out the things to do & where to go lists. Travelers advice; allow time in your schedule for the breakfast! Will highly recommend to friends and family.
5 on January 20, 2011
Jim & Dave provide an experience that is like staying with friends. Luxurious accommodations and gourmet breakfasts make this an attractive choice. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in assisting you with area attractions. We will stay at Bellaire B&B anytime that we are in the area!
5 on December 26, 2010
Our Christmas gift to each other this year was the three-night stay at the Bellaire B&B, where we had enjoyed three previous stays this year. It was a wonderful decision, as David & Jim went above and beyond our expectations to make this a gift in many ways, including the gorgeous decorated Christmas tree in our room and the bottle of champagne to celebrate our retirements from academia. The breakfasts are delicious, with lovely taste treats and special attention to dietary needs as an added bonus. Conversation in the library, with the fireplace alight to warm us, was a special treat, too! Thank you, Jim and David, for your wonderful hospitality and special care!
5 on December 07, 2010
We absolutely love this B & B! That, of course, is why we return at every opportunity. This is the first time we've seen it decked out for the holidays--truly lovely. Add the 6 inches of snow we had while we were there and it was a winter wonderland. Dave and Jim are fantastic hosts. The breakfast is so good and abundant that we never have to eat again until supper. If you like to be pampered and feel special while relaxing in beautiful surroundings, this is the place to go!
5 on December 06, 2010

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. We only had a one-night stay, and had booked one of the more modest rooms in the main house to keep costs down. When we arrived, we were offered a much larger, more luxurious room in their carriage house at no additional cost; they were hosting a murder mystery dinner (which we had been invited to but declined because of previously scheduled plans with friends), and worried that the associated noise might disturb us. The hosts also had menus on hand for all local restaurants, and could recommend specific dishes from each one. We were spoiled the entire time we were there, starting with the fresh-made chocolate chip cookies waiting for us in our room. They had snacks and water/soda available at all times if we needed, as well as a DVD library for use. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic. Although I lack the eloquence to appropriately describe it, the feature was a wonderful baked egg dish, with side dishes of maple-pecan bacon, vegetarian sausage, jam-filled muffins, and very fresh fruit with yogurt. Even without the very thoughtful room upgrade, the experience would have been outstanding on all counts. To put it simply--my wife and I are not usually the type to stay at a B&B, and we have plenty of friends we can stay with when we visit northern Michigan, but we will DEFINITELY return to the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. Excellent job, David and Jim!
4.8 on November 14, 2010
These guys know how to spoil you, with beautifully decorated and sparkling clean rooms, cookies on the bedside table, delicious breakfasts, and wine in the afternoon....the lovingly restored Victorian house is beautiful and well-kept, sitting at the end of a long driveway lined with trees. You can hide in your room and relax or socialize with other guests; the hosts are very personable and knowledgeable about the area if you want to get out and about. We particularly recommend the carriage house rooms, as they are large with extra amenities, and just steps across the porch from the main house. Five stars.
4.4 on November 10, 2010
The B&B was hosting a murder mystery dinner in the main home for which we did not have reservations so upon arrival we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a more quieter room. The service and attentiveness was impeccable. The food is always quite dilectable. We will return once again!

We love staying at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. The hospitality, the decor, the food, accomodations, special touches are all too many to begin to describe. We plan on visiting again next time we have a Northern Michigan trip. Loved everything about the Bellaire.

We always feel like we are coming home when we stay at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. Jim and Dave know how to do things right, every time to the smallest detail!
4.8 on October 05, 2010
We stayed two nights and quality was consistant both nights. On each night, amongst the other guests were return visitors. There really wasn't much that could have been improved upon. The inn-keepers ensured that guests were introduced and conversation barriers, if any, broken. Recommendations for dining and attractions were thoughtful and knowledgable.
5 on October 03, 2010
This B&B is one block off the main road so there wasn't any traffic noise. It was a beautiful old home with lovely landscape. The owners were very warm and accommodating,"made us a lovely early breakfast since we had a meeting to attend. Bellaire had wonderful shopping and great food and brew for the evening entertainment. We've booked in again same time next year.

Jim and Dave made you WANT to return. You get a lot of value for your money. The food was amazing and they made you feel as if you were family spending the weekend at their house. Even the dogs added a family touch! The little town of Bellaire has some excellent restaurant options - which is an added bonus.

Oh my, Oh my... words are inadequate to describe the extraordinary bed and breakfast experience at the BelAir Bed & Breakfast. The breakfasts were a wonderful experience, the wine and "snack" hour at 5 to meet and greet a fun experience. If you enjoy escaping from the world for one day or one week, this is the place to go. The Brighton Room, reminiscent of early England, was a delight in every sense. Dave & Jim did not miss a detail in making our stay pure pleasure. Sitting by the cozy fireplace in our room, curled up with a book and a glass of wine was exactly what the doctor ordered.
5 on September 09, 2010
From the moment we arrived we felt at home. David and Jim are incredible hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay most comfortable. The house is lovely, the landscaping is beautiful and the breakfast was the best we ever had. At 5:00 p.m. wines and bread with dipping sauces were served on the covered breezeway while we visited with other guests. Our stay at Bellaire Bed & Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. We loved it and will definitely return. Dick and Jane from Indianapolis

What a wonderful find! The Bellaire B and B was more than we could have hoped for. Sitting on the front porch reading just calms the soul. The hosts were so kind helping us celebrate our anniversary with a bottle of sparkling wine and recommendations for dinner. The house and gardens are kept to a very high standard. Breakfast was over the top. We will return on our next trip to Northern Michigan.

Our stay in the Tuscany Suite exceeded the level of standards that we have experienced in luxury resorts. The level of attention provided by David and Jim is unequaled! The Bellaire B & B is also in a great location central to the many sites and experiences of ("up north") northern Michigan.
5 on May 01, 2008
We have visited the Bellaire B&B in the summer, fall and springtime. There is no bad time to visit the northern woods of Michigan. If you need a fantastic place to stay thats close to everything ( thats what I think ) you should try the Bellaire B&B at least once and if you do you will almost think that you are at home. The rooms are cozy and inviting they serve a breakfast fit for royalty, if you go away hungry it's your own fault, fresh coffee, tea and other beverages are at easy reach. If you have food alergies the inn keepers do a great job of keeping track and try to accomadate all your needs. The beds are comfy, warm and inviting along with the decor of each room. If you visit there once you will want to come back again and again just visit with new and old friends that you have met during your stay.
