The Stagecoach Inn was built in 1853 as a stagecoach stop on the way from Milwaukeee to Greenbay. The Inn was built from local limestone and housed a pub, floral shop, and rooms for travelers. Next door to the Inn was a stable and blacksmith. Restored in 1984 by Brook and Liz Brown, the Inn now houses a chocolate shop, a pub and 9 guest rooms. The rooms are decorated comfortably with antiques. The Weber Haus Annex is across the street and features 3 rooms with fireplaces and whirlpools, as well as a private garden area. Originally built in 1886, Manderley was the home of David and Adda Howie. David was a coal merchant, Civil War veteran and a prominent member of Milwaukee Society. Adda, known as “Lady Howie”, was a published author, lobbyist, and world famous innovator of dairy farming techniques. The house is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places for outstanding architectural significance.
