The Elmere house

This was our first trip to Maine and we want to return tomorrow! Son Mi was so much fun to listen to and her dog Abby was great too. Son Mi served us the best breakfast in town and the beds were the most comfortable in the world. We arrived earlier in the day than planned but it was no problem. She gave us many ideas of where to go and what to do. The next time we come we want to take the train from Wells into Boston. You'll really enjoy a relaxing stay here. B. & L. from Michigan

This was our first time in Maine, found this beautiful restored New England Farmhouse. We choose 'The Elmere B&B', the rooms have their own spacious bathroom, and beautiful appointed. The beds are comfortable and well appointed. The whole house is immaculate and well appointed. The dining room is made to sit and savour a great breakfast. Son Mi is the host and made our visit special. Guaranteed to rest and enjoy your time. Will happilly return.

Every time we come to Maine this is where we love to stay! The Elmere is a beautifully restored New England Farmhouse with the ameneties of a lovely new home. Every room is immaculate and beautifully decorated, the beds are so comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern and bright. Son Mi makes every visit special. If you stay once, you will want to return again!

Desperately needing a get-away weekend, I booked two nights at The Elmere House in Wells. What a great decision! It was not just a wonderful place to stay, The Elmere House felt like home. I slept like a baby in that comfortable bed, and there were plenty of windows for air and light. The house is lovingly decorated and, unlike an old farmhouse, The Elmere House has every convenience from wireless Internet to Netflex streamed movies on large screens. I loved my spacious bathroom! What is more, The Elmere House is kept spotless, truly spotless. Son-mi, the owner, is gracious, funny, interesting, and the best gem of all. I cannot forget Abby though. She made me laugh as I watched in amazement at her bravery, for such a tiny Yorkie! There is no shortage of personality, charm, or anything else at The Elmere House. I will be back, for sure. Son Mi is a most accommodating hostess, catering to our need for diabetic food and offering her charming living room for us to entertain my sister and nephew for several hours on two different days of our 5-day stay. Besides all the amenities listed, the grounds are lovely. The location is within easy walking distance of several good restaurants, an ice cream shop, the Catholic Church, and much more. What a charming inn! We felt like we were in good hands during our 4-day visit to southern Maine. The room was spectacularly comfortable, the meals outstanding and the many evenings in the hot tub with bottles of wine an indulgence. Son Mi, the innkeeper, was wonderful and gave us personal attention with planning local activities and made us feel "at home" during our stay. We are looking forward to returning soon for another long weekend.

The Elmere House was a joy to stay at! Son Mi is a great host and made a wonderful breakfast. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and we had a wonderful, romantic stay in the Moosehead Lake Suite. I would definitely go back here again!

The inn keeper was not always around when we needed something and did not give us a tour of the facility when we arrived. Other than that it was very nice.

We just returned from a great weekend in Wells, Maine. The Elmere House and Son were terrific. The farmhouse has been converted to a beautiful B&B. Son has great decorating sense. She has done an exceptional job designing and outfitting the Elmere House. Our room was perfect. The bed was so comfortable; we slept well. Nice breakfasts. We enjoyed talking with her. A welcoming and inviting B & B. The rooms are clean and the decor is what you would want to have in your home. The pictures are exactly what you'll find. The owner is very nice and makes you feel at home. The beds are very comfortable!

Our very first stay at a bed and breakfast- it was the most pleasant, relaxing trip we've ever had. Son was very welcoming, and made us feel like Elmere House was our home away from home. Breakfast was simple but tasty- blueberry pancakes, eggs made to order- different menu every day. Our room (Moosehead Lake), was very spacious but cozy at the same time. My husband and I were meandering the Southern Maine Coast with no particular destination. We needed a place to stay and a local merchant recommended The Elmere House..... How fortunate for us! It is a beautifully, brand spankin' new restored farmhouse with a lot of character and charm! Son Mi, the Innkeeper and her son Matthew were there to greet us...... Absolutely lovely, warm and kind hearted... I feel as though I have made a new friend. Son Mi gave me a tour of the house.... EVERY room is beautiful..... SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. Our room was ADA compliant, even though that was not a necessity for us. The breakfast was WONDERFUL! Fresh fruit, eggs, any way you want them, juice, coffee,tea, cereal,toast and/or english muffins..... fresh and delicious!! Great location, ample parking.... we will DEFINITELY stay there on a return trip....can't wait!!!

We had the most relaxing time! The breakfasts were outstanding and our hosts made us feel like family. Son was so friendly and accommodating. We WILL definitely come back to stay at the Elmere House again soon... We whished we could have stayed a little longer. We left feeling so calm and relax!

My husband and I toured Maine for the first time; we wanted to stay at a Bed and Breakfast and found the Elmere House on the net. After reading the reviews, we booked our two nights in mid November, 2009,...and what an excellent choice! An 1800s farmhouse completely restored naturally- relaxing and beautiful. The hostess, Son, is wonderful; breakfasts were delightful and her evening treats including Asian Pears were delicious; it was such a delight to visit with Son and stay in her beautiful B&B...we'll be back when we return to New England for a wonderful treat because of this Bed and Breakfast. The Elmere house is the perfect place to go and experience the warmth and peace of a true bed and breakfast. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable and you feel as though they have been prepared for your personal arrival. Son is a lovely woman who makes every effort to make your stay restful and private. The furniture throughout the House is homelike with small touches of Son and her family placed carefully in each sittuing area. Son Mi greeted us with the warmest welcome ever. The Inn itself was beautiful with the "gleam" of being newly renovated, surrounded by the warmth & character of beautiful antiques, beautiful bedding, (comfortable beds), gorgeous rugs, etc... The most beautiful tiffany lamps I've seen. The friendly greetings and the most welcoming morning breakfast served with great taste & a smile. Truly exceeded our expectation. We also liked the location. Being familiar with the area, it is centrally located to pretty much everywhere we travel when we visit southern Maine, from the Old Port in Portland, down the coast from beach to beach to shopping in Kittery. We even popped into Portsmouth, NH for a terrific lunch in the historic district & even hit a wonderful little apple festival in Dover, NH. All within a resonable distance to the Elmere House. My husband and I came to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and to explore the Wells area. Son Mi and Mary were gracious in their hospitality and helpful with directions and suggestions. We enjoyed our room and appreciated the warmth and cleanliness of Elmere House. Also, the breakfasts provided were substantial and well prepared. My husband loved the eggs and Korean style steak! Son Mi made us feel very much at home. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast and will return again.

This B&B was a wonderful experience for us. Our room was immaculate and Son Mi was an exceptional hostess. I would recommend this destination to all family and friends. We plan on visiting again in the spring 2010.

This beautifully decorated, charming home was a welcome introduction to Wells and the surrounding area. The staff were very helpful in directing us to great food and local sites off the beaten path. Fabulous breakfast, very clean accommodations, and a most comfortable bed.

Stayed Friday through Monday LaborDay weekend. Had a great stay. Son Mi and Mary very helpful and hospitable. Enjoyed the breakfasts(esp the sweet potato bread). Also felt comfortable in the two large common areas. Look forward to staying again!!! Thanks Again Paul and Carla

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Elmere. The rooms have character; they are lovely and very clean. Son Mi is a wonderful hostess and cook, very friendly and accommodating. She and her staff made us feel very comfortable and were knowledgeable about the area beaches, restaurants, shopping etc. We look forward to another visit!

My wife and I stayed at the Elmere House on 8/20. The house is beautiful. The accommodations were excellent. Son Mi was a wonderful host. Our stay, even for only 1 night, was excellent. It has a very cozy feel when we stayed. The Rangley Lake is spacious. We usually stay at a hotel but staying at The Elmere House has converted us to a B&B patrons, specifically for The Elmere House. We plan to go back to Wells ME and stay here. Not to mention the location, it is located very close to the beaches. I would recommend to stay here on your next visit. Thank you Son Mi!!!! Elmere House is with out a doubt one of the nicest accomodations my family and I have ever stayed at. It was our first experience in a B & B. Everything about it is so charming! We found it centrally located to everything in the area. Son and her boys were very helpful with anything we were in need of.Very comfortable beds and bedding, and so quiet! The breakfasts' were delicious! Son is a wonderful hostess and we wish her much success.

Everything is brand new and spotless. Beautiful restored home. The service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. Owner was very hospitable and provided great recommendations for beaches, restaurants, & shops. A definite must - will return!

I recently stayed five nights in the Sebago Lake room at The Elmere House and very much enjoyed the experience. The hostess, Son, and her staff make guests feel welcome with their friendly demeanor and conversation. They are equally receptive to guests who prefer not to chat. During our stay, we enjoyed a variety of delicious home-cooked breakfasts. More standard fare, such as cereal, was also available. Our room was clean and spacious, with amenities such as remote controlled in-room air conditioning, a flat screen TV, a refrigerator, comfortable king-size bedding and an extra fold-up bed upon request. Linens and towels were laundered and replaced daily. The room and common areas were tastefully decorated with antiques, providing an “at home” feel. Son and her staff are responsive to guests’ needs. We requested an iron and ironing board and they were promptly provided (although, in the end, we heeded Son’s gentle prodding-- “Are you sure you want to iron when on vacation?”--and returned them unused). We did not take advantage of the outdoor hot tub or the selection of DVDs and books that are available for borrowing. Other guests were pleasant and engaging. We enjoyed the friendly rapport around the breakfast table. Elmere House is conveniently located, near to area beaches, restaurants and shops. During the summer months, a local trolley that stops nearby runs to and from Ogunquit and Kennebunkport for a fare of one dollar. All in all, we were very pleased with our experience at Elmere House and plan to return when we are in the area. FDG 8/20/09
