Wind down our drive way-- Welcome to The Waterford Inne
Whaling anyone--no, just enjoy our Nantucket Room. This is one of our smaller accommodations, but the warm blue colors also make it one of the most popular. It is furnished with a full (or double) bed, so if you need more room choose another of our rooms. But, if finances are a bit tight, this one will save you some dollars. Private bath as well.
Roughing it in the rustic Maine Cabin? Hardly! Let us pamper you in our version of the Maine woods. This room is furnished with a queen-sized bed as well as a couch which pulls out to a double bed. An excellent choice for families. Two bay windows and still very private! Even if you don't get to see a moose outside you will see one inside this room!
Relax, unwind, visit with other guests by the fireplace in our great room. The barnboard of the walls has been salvaged from the 19th Century barn. Many windows open the room to the grounds, the front door leads to a screened porch, providing special summer dining. Inside many artifacts and books of the innkeepers' travels. Birders will delight in the many carvings.
Read, relax, reflect in the bay window alcove of the Appleyard bed-sitting room. The views outside are peaceful-- whether they be the greens of spring, the colors of autumn, or the snow of winter.
After an invigorating bicycle ride through Maine's Oxford Hills and Lakes region take a stroll around the grounds. The inn was once a New Engand dairy farm as one can see by the size of the red barn!
And to all a good night...this view is of the porch off of the Chesapeake Room. Guests have been known to bring along a telescope to view the night sky. Star gazing is good here in Waterford in this corner of western Maine--no neon lights spilling over to spoil the view!
The Waterford Inne is more than just a Bed and Breakfast. We are a full service inn--well known and reviewed for our evening meals. Pictured here is our popular rack of lamb--delicious--but the entree changes nightly. What's neat is that the entree is chosen keeping guest preferences in mind, we ask ahead of time if there are foods you cannot eat or simply don't like. We aim to please your palate!
The Cheaspeake Room--perfect for a honeymoon, or for making any stay a romantic getaway!!! A cozy fireplace, a private porch, king-sized bed--and--ducks, ducks, ducks.
A charming blend of three centuries--the warmth of early furnishings combined with contemporary comforts. An air of quiet simple elegance pervades the common rooms rich with antiques and art, an intimate library with an eclectic collection to appeal to all tastes, uniquely decorated guestrooms. Located in the Oxford Hills and Lakes region which is still one of Maine's best-kept secrets, rich in its own natural beauty and rich in recreational activites-- lakes, skiing, golfing, antiquing, hiking, bicycling, and offering proximity to the seacoast of Maine and the White Mts. of New Hampshire. Full breakfasts and exceptional dinners prepared without a menu, but with guest's personal needs and preferences our highest priority--fine sophisticated dining. Pet friendly.
