Anita and Ed were gracious hosts. The continental breakfasts were not only amazing but homemade and delicious! Conveniently located on the highway; quiet and restful.

    Unexpected delight

    August 25, 2012

On the way to Acadia we made an unplanned stop for the night and saw this lovely inn on route 1 just past Camden, ME. After checking in, we were pleasantly surprised by the on site restaurant. As a family we ordered seafood, salads, lobster Mac and cheese with the hand cut potato chips and dip as an appetizer. Fantastic. Breakfast in the back porch by the windows was with fresh Maine blueberry pancakes, a tremendous fruit salad cup, along with ommelletes, etc. All were excellent as well. I took off for a morning run at nearby Sears Island, an uninhabited, protected small island with walking trails and ocean views. We stayed over another night and made a day-trip instead to Acadia rather than paying the higher prices and risking no vacancies. We will return!

    Awesome accommodations and hosts!

    July 19, 2012

We stayed at the Homeport Inn for three nights over the Fourth of July and while we loved the Inn, we especially want to recommend the atmosphere created by the hosts and hostesses - Marcia, Herb, Anita and Ed. The breakfasts were out of this world and created to our taste each morning. We sampled local jellies on toast, ate yummy banana nut muffins with streusel topping, had poached eggs and savored pancakes so laden with blueberries each bite seemed to explode in our mouths! The rooms are nicely appointed and the lawn and gardens are just beautiful. We especially enjoyed getting to know Anita each morning as she served breakfast and can assure you there will never be a dearth of intelligent conversation with any one of these hosts and hostesses. The Mermaid restaurant in Homeports old Carriage House serves up delicious food for dinner - be sure you do not miss Anita's white chocolate bread pudding with caramel sauce - it is heaven! We give this Inn a 5-star rating! --guests from South Carolina, July 2012
