The Bradford House B&B

What a plesant surprise to find this "gem" of a B&B in Patten, ME. Our hosts Filena & Stephen have worked hard and continue to work diligently to make this a wonderful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of your travel schedule. We literally didn't want to leave, Stephen showed us around the place and explaind some of the facinating history. For me, it was like going back to Grandpa's farm and loving every second of the visit. Having a wonderful country breakfast cooked and served by Filena from her country kictchen was the icing on the cake. When back in this part of the country again I will plan on some time being spent right here. Thanks so much Filena & Stephen!

We had an incredible stay at the Bradford House B&B. The owners treated us as warmly as family. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-decorated. There were lots of thoughtful touches: big, pretty glass containers filled with soaps and shampoos and conditioners and bath salts and lotions from which choose for a shower or bath, an article about the town in which we were staying, and even a bedtime snack. The breakfast was amazing, and fresh from the farm! (fresh scrambled eggs and fresh bacon for breakfast, among other things) All in all, it was a WONDERFUL stay.

I felt right at home, that is at my grandma's house, from the moment I arrived. It was that warm feeling of someone taking care of you along with some nice cookies to prove it. The super comfortable bed and luxury towels were even better than grandma's. Breakfast with eggs from their own chickens was a real treat.

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Bradford House, a lovely inn tucked away in the shadow of Mt. Katahdin in Patten, Maine. When we drove in, we were a bit put off by the ugly modern house that sits in what was once a front yard, but as soon as we walked in to the Inn and met Filena, Steve and "Alice" (the antique wood cook stove), our misgivings were more than dispelled. Our room was well-appointed, very clean and extremely comfortable. Filena offered to cook us dinner since most restaurants in town close after Labor Day, and our dinner was replete with good things fresh from their farm (including the pork chops)! Breakfast was just as yummy, and we were sorry to leave but eager to get on with our day in beautiful Baxter State Park. I would recommend both this inn and Patten as a good jumping-off point for a visit to this part of Maine.

We stayed at the Bradford House as the last night of our holiday. What a find!! We were given the attic room and we had lots of space to stretch out. The room and the house are beautiful. The breakfast was fit for a lumberjack with almost everything from their farm. Stephen and Filena are wonderful hosts. Go Bucks!!!

The Bradford House was a cozy, adorable home. It was spotlessly clean. You could tell the owners value having clean linens, towels, etc. for their guest. Their beds were top-of-the-line with clean and crisp sheets, super soft bedding with fluffy down comforters. The owners were as nice as could be. They were caring and genuinely nice people. This place is definitely a piece of history you wouldn't want to miss if you are in the area. Breakfast was a delicious, home-cooked meal (not just cereal and fruit, as most bed-and-breakfasts serve). My husband and I had a perfect stay and I highly recommend this bed&breakfast to anyone.

My husband and I were very pleased with our overnight stay. Our room was huge as was the king sized bed. I loved the antiques and crafts displayed throughout. The Singers were exceptional hosts. I will definitely recommend The Bradford House to my friends. The breakfast was second to none!

We stayed in room 1, the room was immaculate, the linens were first class, the nightly treats were delicious. Our breakfast in the morning was a wonderful farmers' breakfast and was made from scatch. We enjoyed the history, barn, chickens, and beautiful organic garden. We were priviledged to sample Filena's canning of all her garden vegetables. This truly is a wonderful place to stay!!!

My wife and I stayed only one night with Filena & Steve at the Bradfordhouse, but after we had finished our tour of Down East Maine we both concluded that this was a place we could have spent more time. The accomodations are excellent, the hospitality and conversation are excellent, the breakfast is all from scratch and is excellent as well. If you are into History this place is for you - underground railroad stop is all I should need to say. Plus it is very close to the North entrance to Baxter S.P. a gem in the north woods. Enjoy your time here. We did!

Had a great stay. Good breakfast and piece of history has been savied in this 1842 house and 1840 barn.

We were met by exuberantly friendly hosts who were eager to accomodate and please. Our room was quaintly appointed in period furniture and decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable with a thick feather tick to sink down in to and a lightweight down blanket, the pillows were just right to sink your head into and fall in to a deep sleep. We had a scrumptious dinner with fresh vegetables from the organic garden served on an old style farmhouse table in a quaint dining room. Breakfast was delicious as was the coffee! We would highly recommend this B&B for friends and travelers!!
