A relaxing vacation awaits at the Atlantic Birches Inn. The Inn is comprised of two homes, the 1903 Victorian shingle style Main House, and the 1920's bungalow called the Guest House. Each building houses five comfortable and uniquely decorated smoke-free guest rooms all with private baths and air-conditioning, 32" Led Color TV's, free Wifi, large living rooms, and casual dining areas for our homemade Continental breakfasts. Rooms vary from a cozy retreat for two, up to a two bedroom suite for a family of five. The Inn reflects the peace and tranquility of yester-year, with a casual elegance. Guests enjoy the opportunity to linger over breakfast on our front porches shaded by Birch Trees, or our Gazebo surrounded by perienal gardens or just bask in the sun by the outdoor heated pool. We are located in the center of town in the Downtown Historic District a minutes walk from the Inn takes you to Old Orchard Beach's lively downtown, and Maine's largest white flat sand beach. Located just 12 minutes from Portland and Kennebunkport, and 25 minutes from Freeport and Kittery, the Inn is conveniently located and offers a quiet respite in a busy vacation.

I stayed in the Vesper Suite with my mom and sister. It was charming with two small rooms with a kitchenette. It was a bit far from the beach -- 15 minute walk. The owner was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants. We didn't try the pool, but it looked inviting.
Thank you for your review. The Inn is located just the right distance to be away from the beach traffic, noise and congestion. It is about 100 yards from the Inn. For most guests it is just a 3 minute walk to the pier and 7 miles of white sand beach.

Ray and Heidi could not be nicer or more helpful. Our second visit...and we will return whenever in Maine. Very clean and charming rooms, great breakfast, and located near Portland but with reasonable prices.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and were very satisfied with our accommodations. Our room was clean and comfortable; breakfasts were continental style and of good quality. Homemade muffins and fruit were delicious. Location is central to the area; Ray gives great recommendations for dining and things to do.

The Birches was exactly what we thought. The room was great and we loved having our own bathroom. The owners were very attentive and wanted to make sure you got the most out of your vacation. The house is perfectly located, off the path for quiet, but 15 min either way and you are in Portland or the beach villages. Highly recommend.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I've not stayed in B&B for many years. When we made the reservation, I didn't find the innkeepers to be very flexible but that mindset changed when I got there! Not only did the innkeepers purchase soymilk so my husband could have cereal in the morning (he is severely dairy allergic), but they were very accommodating in other ways. Great service, beautiful rooms, perfectly located between Portland and other tourist sights, near the beach, and Ray was the perfect tourist guide! He recommended back ways to lighthouses, scenic drives, good and reasonable restaurants and every recommendation was wonderful! I loved this experience and wouldn't hesitate to come back and/or recommend to our friends. THANKS so much Heidi and Ray!!!!
