What an outstanding value in a great area! As we drove up the Maine coastline we were happy to find such a well kept property for such a reasonable price. The decorations were quaint and everything was very clean. Breakfast was continental but quite well done. The owners were very helpful and personable and we felt right at home.

I only stayed one night but it was quaint and clean and nice. I stayed in the room that night to relax after a long drive. We had full cable and it was comfy and quiet. I would definitely recommend this b&b

The owners are very nice, the rooms are very cozy and nicely decorated. The location is perfect; just a few blocks from the main street in Old Orchard Beach and the beach. The breakfast could be more complete, but the homemade muffins are delicious.

My sister and I recently stayed at the Birches' BB and were very comfortable in our room. Slept better than we both have in our separate places/states! King bed VERY good for our older backs!...and loved the antiquity of the whole house - especially the porch! Minor suggestions - be sensitive to older folks trying to use TV to watch loved stations. NOT clear/easy. Serve breakfast at least an hour earlier - since most of your guests are probably early/older risers - hungrier earlier! Make us aware of wooden, steep steps for bringing our heavy luggage in - so we can perhaps plan for smaller haul-it-in-easier bag. VERY hard to get big luggage upstairs. Finally - REAL clear directions as to how to get where on miles and miles or wandering roads. Not everybody has/uses online maps/GPS. Otherwise - great quiet stay - close to lots of places - and good host! Thanks!

We had no idea what to expect-we wanted near Portland and I just chose a place that looked okay. Well, it was better than 'okay'. So close to the beach and shops, such friendly owners-Ray went out of his way to make suggestions as to where to eat, visit etc and all suggestions were perfect for my family of 4 with two teenage girls. We loved the pool and Ray lent us towels (also various equipment for the beach). The house was tastefully decorated and being an older style home, we had a lot of space in the room. The only drawback for us was having the bathroom outside of the room (not shared) but it didn't prove to be much of a problem and the positives far outweighed that minor issue. We loved how 'airy' the room was and although there were many other people staying, we didn't hear a peep from anyone at night. Loved the front veranda where we sat to eat our breakfast. By far, one of our favourite stays on our 8 week holiday! Reasonably priced, as well. Would recommend to anyone.

Being from Minnesota, we were anxious to learn more about lobster season, enjoy the coast and see the sites along the Maine coastline. This bed and breakfast was o.k. but had some disappointing room details and hospitality. We hit the Old Orchard Beach vacation season at its peak, and didn't realize that this was set near a "carnival-type" venue. Now, in retrospect, a quieter location would have been more suitable for our needs. The breakfast muffins and fresh fruit were outstanding and the shared space of this property was very comfortable. The bedroom was cramped and was not really suitable for 2 adults.
Thank you for your review sorry you did not enjoy your stay here at our Inn and Town. You selected the town, Inn location and you room here. There are descriptions of each of the room including the one you choose on line for the cost conscience traveler. Nowhere on our website does it say we are ocean front. Maybe you should have done more research on the location and called us for information. As for being not hospitalble not sure have you got that idea, we tend to be over hospitable and informative at times with suggestions and idea's on where to dine, places to visit, and must do things.
