We loved this Bed-and-Breakfast

5 on September 27, 2014

We spent 3 nights out of 10 at this lovely Inn, traveling with our two best friends. The rooms are all charming and unique, and the daily breakfasts are scrumptious, offering two selections every morning! Walk a short distance down Main Street to see all the special shops and restaurants, and a few blocks away is the beach. The sandy beach is pristine and goes a long way. The rocky shoreline has the renowned Marginal Way paved walk, and the view from it is breathtaking. My regret is that we didn't spend the whole ten days of our trip here! We truly hope to be back soon....by the way, this trip commemorated our 50th anniversary! Mike and Judy

We love this Inn

We spent the last night of our vacation at the Black Boar Inn and it was perfect. The location was right on Main Street so easy to find and very close to shops and the beach. John and Dwain were the perfect hosts and were full of information about where to eat; the Inn; and their own adventures. Our room was on the second floor and faced the street but the street noise didn't bother us at all. The room was very clean and had everything we needed AND a salt scrum for my hands which I loved! They gave us a choice of what to have for breakfast and it was delicious. We loved the Blueberry Jam and even bought some to bring home as it was the best we had tasted. All in all, we would stay here again as we felt warmly welcomed and love the location. Also, it was fun to stay in such a well maintained, very old historic home. A great ending to our lovely vacation.

I love this place. Seriously.

Just book a room at this place. If my review is too long to read, just trust me and book a room. You won't regret it. I've been to the Black Boar Inn twice with my boyfriend since Dwain and John (The amazing owners) reopened this beautiful place last year. My first visit was on a cold weekend in October. We were looking to go up to Ogunquit for a relaxing getaway and found the Black Boar Inn by chance. So we booked the June Room (A cozy, gorgeous room that has sky lights, its own entrance and a little porch to sit on). It was the perfect size for the two of us. On top of that, Dwain and John made sure that we were comfortable, and they were so hospitable. We loved staying here so much that we booked again for this summer. Our second time at Black Boar Inn did not disappoint whatsoever (we went this past weekend). Dwain and John have done so much to the place since the last time we were there, and it just keeps looking better and better. We, of course, booked the June Room again. We discovered it stays pretty cool in warm weather. They've placed a mini fridge and AC for the room, if needed. The breakfast is amazing. Saturday, I had french toast and berries, and my boyfriend had asparagus quiche with garlic potatoes. Sunday, I had summer vegetable frittata with potato pancakes and my boyfriend had blueberry pancakes. Each breakfast comes with toast, a side dish of fruit or something else delicious, and (of course) coffee/tea/juice. Every day they give you a menu to choose from, and every day I just want every single thing on that menu! You really can't go wrong. Finally, please do not hesitate to ask Dwain and John for advice about where to go or what to eat. They know the best spots to have a lobster roll, go for nature walks, drink a couple cocktails, and so much more. Dwain and John really made our stay here amazing each time. This place is a fantastic find, and I know we're going to book here again soon.

Girls weekend a huge success!

Our stay at the Black Boar Inn was amazing! Dwayne and John were so kind and caring- from the casual and relaxing check in to the amazingly clean and perfectly decorated bedrooms this was a great time. Black Boar Inn is right downtown so you can enjoy the nightlife and walk right home and as a huge bonus, a home cooked gourmet breakfast to start each day! Yum! We will be back for sure!
