The scenic Marginal Way, a paved mile-long winding footpath along Ogunquit’s rocky Atlantic coastline, is a short 4-minute walk from the Inn. We are only steps from the picturesque Perkins Cove Harbor, and one mile from the bustling, quaint village center. A beautiful 3-1/2 mile pristine white sandy beach is just over a mile away, accessible by either walking or utilizing one of the Ogunquit trollies that stop directly across the street from the Inn every 15 minutes. You will love the quaint village of Ogunquit and Perkins Cove for the art museums, theaters, whale watching, sunset cruises, sunbathing, fishing, boutique shops, waterfront dining, or just a walk along the beach. “Antique Alley” is here along Route One. Kittery Shopping Outlets (20 minutes) and LL Bean in Freeport (45 minutes) is an easy drive.

This was our first visit to the Hartwell House Inn but it won't be our last. Very spacious and elegant rooms, great breakfast choices. We enjoyed our visit.

Erik and Charlene continue to provide a welcoming environment and are the absolute perfect hosts. Hartwell House is the perfect location for dining in Perkins Cove or exploring the Marginal Way. Rooms are very comfortable - each one a different decor (on-line photos depict rooms as they are). Breakfast is delish!!

Another outstanding stay at Hartwell. We were there for Ogunquit and Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude. The room was excellent and once again, our host and hostess were outstanding. We stayed two nights and had a fantastic time. The inn itself is so nice and the breakfasts are outstanding. This is fast becoming our favorite place to stay. Thank you Charlene and Eric. We will see you soon.

We had a great experience here! Nice friendly reception upon arrival. We stayed in the "Polly Reed" room which was very cozy with an intimate feel. The room had a spacious bathroom with a big two person jacuzzi tub. Everything was clean and spotless. Breakfast was delicious, and aesthetically pleasing. This comfortable and quaint B&B is a great place! I will be happy to return!

We've just returned from our 4th stay at HH. Its location is perfect--close enough to everything in Ogunquit, yet still private. Eric and Charlene are wonderful innkeepers, warm and inviting, fun to talk to. We won't stay anywhere else anymore--and that's after decades of visiting the area.

My wife and I have stayed in Ogunquit a couple of other times and this was our first time at the Hartwell House. The entire place was impeccably clean and wonderfully decorated. The innkeepers took outstanding care of us and eagerly accommodated a late-breaking special request. I can't say enough good things.
