Lakeside enchantment awaits you, midcoast, on Damariscotta Lake at the Mill Pond Inn. Two and one-half miles from the town of Damariscotta, this unique setting offers guests at the Inn a chance to view the wonders of Maine's wildlife right from their sunny guest rooms or the breakfast table. Loons, otters, beavers, and the resident bald eagles and osprey lure nature lovers from all over the world to this gorgeous spot. Each of the five individually decorated guest rooms offer a private bath. Guests can also enjoy canoeing and bike riding right from the back door and all equipment is complimentary. The Mill Pond connects directly to Damariscotta Lake, a beautiful, fourteen mile long pristine area. A dive- right- off- the dock swimming pier is a favorite at the Inn for an early morning swim before breakfast, a tummy- filling affair of blueberry pancakes and other country favorites. Resting in the "hammocks for two" is also on the list of favorites. The Mill Pond Inn was purchased, restored, and converted in 1986 by Bobby and Sherry Whear. Over ten years they have developed quite a following of repeat clientele. Sherry may serve treats to guest gatherings on the lawn or deck in the afternoon. Bobby's status as a "Registered Main Guide" enables the inn to offer guided fishing trips as well as scenic tours of the lake. The 1780 gray clapboard Colonial pub-like T.V. room, sitting room, and gorgeous dining room facing the pond are available as common rooms. Let Bobby and Sherry plan your Maine vacation with some "off the beaten path" destinations. On more than one occasion the Mill Pond Inn has been referred to as a "magical, mystical place."
