My newlywed wife and I spent three days mid-week at the inn after learning of the place two years ago during a trip to the Pemaquid region. We loved our stay, our room, the staff, the feel of an old New England inn, the food..it was all amazing. The food is first class but can run high in price if you aren't eating in the inn on a package deal like we were. Then again, you have to expect that food of that class and quality would cost that much in any similar restaurant. We got the Monhegan Adventure package which included dinner at the inn one night and dinner another night at their sister restaurant The Contented Sole. It also included a great picnic lunch and passes for a cruise to the island where you hike and explore however you wish for the entire day. The breakfast that was included daily with our stay is also amazing...it's been hard re-adjusting to making our own meals and then being disappointed with how they don't stack up to their food. In trying to find out if the package deal was a better value than just doing this all individually, I have to say it was (if for no other reason than the convenience). The room with tax would've been roughly $200 a night, dinner at the inn one night was $125, and dinner at their sister restaurant was easily $70 (they never gave us the bill); all we paid for was alcohol and tip. Factoring in all of that, plus the Monhegan passes ($64 for two people round trip) and the lunch made by one of the owners/innkeepers (easily $30 or more), it works out to cost the same if not less to do the package. We will definitely be staying there again sometime in the future.
A real gem!!

After 37 years together, my husband and I were blessed with an anonymous gift of $1,000 to be used for a vacation, just the two of us. Found The Bradley Inn on the internet, including a Monhegan Island Adventure package; three nights lodging, full breakfast every morning, dinner at The Inn one evening, lunch at the Contented Sole one day, round-trip ferry ride to Monhegan Island including a picnic lunch. We arrived late Thursday night and crawled into bed after a long drive in the dark. Slept on a cloud in the Silk Road room. I felt like I was sleeping at my grandmother's house, many years ago. Ashley was our waitress all weekend and was professional and adorable. The first morning she announced breakfast as "an egg sandwich." It was understated as a "sandwich" and was attractive, delicious and filling, accompanied by coffee, juice and fruit. We met Laurie, Guest Services, the person who made our reservation. She was like a close friend from the first phone call. She was professional, but never too busy to answer questions or offer suggestions. I could go on forever with this story, but you need to know the room we stayed in was very comfortable, the service was excellent, the Inn was very clean, the food was out of this world (an understatement). As far as value, if it weren't for the generous gift we received, we would never know about this gem. But I will tell you, if we win the $1,000 for making our comment on this web site, we will spend it at The Bradley Inn. My soul is very contented and we were blessed.

My husband and I went Adventure driving to see the fall foliage and the lighthouses. We saw the Bradley Inn and decided to stop there and spend the night. It was beautiful. We had potato-leek soup and it was great. I had some wine and my husband tried the Presidential port. He loved it. They had a Jazz duo of piano and stand-up bass. I was very tired from driving all day, so went up to our room around 8pm. The Jazz played until about 10pm, but it was relaxing. Then around 11:30pm someone that was staying upstairs from us decided to take a shower and it was very noisy. They banged around and seemed to have no respect for their fellow occupants. I had a hard time trying to sleep after that. I do have to say the bed was very comfortable though. The next morning I went down for coffee and found that they had a water leak somewhere. It was leaking into the main dining room. They told me that they discovered it at around 10:30pm the night before. I wonder if the occupant that showered around 11:30pm made it worse. I hope that all is well now. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If we ever get back this way again, we will stay here, but on the 3rd floor. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast too.

We went to the Bradley Inn knowing pretty much what we were getting. We have been long-time visitors to the Pemequid Region and had seen the Bradley for many years. We always wanted to stay there and this year were given a gift certificate as a present. The Inn and grounds were lovely and more than met our expectations. The food was outsanding except that the quantity left a bit to be desired. However, I had one of the best Martini's ever in the lounge/bar. The staff was accomodating and very friendly and the region was as always beautiful and quiet.

The parking lot was rutted and full of puddles. Improper eaves trough over front door meant additional shower on entering the building. A number of doors stuck making it a bit of a challenge to get in and out of rooms. Coffee service in the morning was inadequate and led to grumpiness. No response to complaint letter sent after our stay.
