Built in the early 1800’s The Kendall Tavern Inn has been welcoming travelers on and off for almost 200 years. Located on Main Street in a historic residential area away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, you can take a short walk to Freeport Village where you will find 24 hour a day shopping at LL Bean and over 140 other shops and restaurants. Kendall Tavern Inn is just 15 miles north of Portland Maine and 10 minutes south of Brunswick Maine, home of Bowdoin College. Within driving distance to Boothbay Harbor, Rockland, Camden and all of mid-coast Maine, this Freeport inn is the perfect spot to experience two centuries of history with all the amenities of today. For those who'd rather not go unplugged, new flat screen TV’s with DVDs and streaming video in every room allow you to keep connected. If you’d rather watch the world go by, rest on our New England style porch complete with Adirondack chairs or relax in our library or living room in front one of one of our two fireplaces. Whether you are staying in Freeport for a romantic getaway, vacation or business, for a 2-night stay or for a week, in any season you can enjoy the endless activities offered in the area and experience why Freeport is the number one most visited spot for Maine tourism.

Mark and Nancy do a terrific job of making you welcome and comfortable. Mark provides all the advice and Nancy does the cooking which is really great. The house is old and charming and nicely located about a half mile from the shopping center. Strongly recommend a stay there - you won't be disappointed.

Jean and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Kendall Tavern Inn - from our greeting by Mark when we checked in to Linda's delicious departure-morning breakfast the next day. This is a very comfortable historic property that has been sensitively restored retaining historic beauty but with appreciated modern conveniences. Just a few blocks from the shopping center of Freeport, the inn is quiet and conveniently located.

The setting, gorgeous. The innkeepers, fantastic. The food, over the top. The location, perfect. Downside - window air conditioners which blew on us at night and kept us from sleeping. The bathroom - very cramped and outdated. But neither of these negatives will deter us from staying there again and again.

The inn is run by a couple so lovely and professional that my stay was made sure comfortable, personable and really special. If you are looking for A bed and A breakfast, stay in a regular hotel. The inn keeper Nancy and Mark makes the experience of staying B&B as a part of special trip. Mark has a great sense of humor, Nancy - formally a business woman anchor the inn. Her breakfast was superb as well.

We were pleased as we drove up to the inn with the setting and beauty of this old home. Mark our host greeted us with his friendly hospitable manner making us feel welcome from the start. We loved his suggestions for restaurants, shopping and travel routes. Nancy our hostess prepared extraordinary breakfasts to begin each day. Our room was adequate and the entire home was spotless. The location made for an easy walk to the commercial part of town but it was far enough away for quiet and peaceful rest. We have stayed in many B&B's and this one was right up there!

Innkeepers Nancy and Mark were great hosts during our stay at the Kendall Tavern Inn! Mark's humor kept us all laughing, and Nancy was OUTSTANDING in the kitchen with our breakfast preparations. The blueberry French toast bake was out of this world! It is an easy 8-10 minute walk to shopping downtown and LL Bean. They made excellent recommendations where to eat, where to go, etc. This stay was excellent and very comfortable. We will be staying in Freeport at the Kendall Tavern Inn again!
