Take exit #45 – South Portland. After the tollbooth, continue along the access road to the end.
Turn right at the light onto Route 1 (south).
At the second set of lights turn left onto Pleasant Hill Rd.
Follow Pleasant Hill Rd. to the end
At the stop sign, turn left. This is Route 77 (north).
3.5 miles on the right is The Inn By The Sea.

From the Portland Jetport Follow one-way loop around Terminal to Stop sign & turn right to exit terminal. At Traffic Light turn Left (Western Ave/Route 9) Go straight to US Route 1 and Turn Right on to US Route 1 South (This will be at your 7th traffic light). Follow Route 1 (South) for approx. 1 mile to Pleasant Hill Road. (This will be at your 3rd Traffic light) Take left onto Pleasant Hill Road and follow to end (approx. 4 miles). At the end of Pleasant Hill Road Turn left onto Route 77 (North). Follow Route 77 (North) for approx. 3 1/2 miles. Inn By The Sea will be on your right.

Venerable coastal favorites at Sea Glass at Inn by the Sea take on the chef’s global culinary expressions in dishes like sumptuous, pan seared jumbo scallops served with a delectable parsnip puree, airy gaufrettes and beurre monte. Scallops are fresh from the sea year round, while parsnips flourish even under a blanket of snow at the neighboring Alewives farm .
His signature Gulf of Maine Seafood & Lobster Paella draws on chef’s memories of cooking with his grandmother in Argentina , adding a unique infusion of flavor to a traditional seacoast favorite. Fresh local mussels, Maine lobster, clams, calamari w cured Chorizo and fresh peas are couched in a bed of saffron rice for a pleasing interplay of texture and taste.
For non seafood fare, try the Roasted Mushroom Tart, created with rich, locally foraged mushrooms, on a delicate housemade crust with crumbled artesian feta over crisp Arugula, and topped with balsamic syrup. Velvety soups, organic beef, game in season, daily salads and hand made pastas are also part of the changing menus.
Panoramic views of the ocean, whether dining inside or Al Fresco on the seaside decks, are integral to the culinary experience at Sea Glass. The inn’s wine cove holds an impressive list of close to 200 wines by the bottle, carefully selected to complement the menus. Join the wine steward inside the cove to personally select and pair wine , to complete the experience. (Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2009)
