Gramercy, a majestic Tudor style mansion and estate, situated on 45 acres in Maryland's Greenspring Valley, provides elegant hospitality. Guests enjoy the Olympic size pool, tennis court, extensive woodland trails, Honeybrook Stream, a working organic farm, and classic flower gardens. In addition to five spacious public rooms with fireplaces, the mansion offers antiques, oriental carpets, artwork, a stunning grand staircase, chandeliers and a serene garden atrium. Railroad magnate, Alexander Cassatt, brother of Impressionist painter Mary Cassatt, presented this historic house as a wedding present to his daughter. Later occupants included the Brewster family, descendants of Benjamin Franklin, and Koinonia Foundation, a predecessor of the Peace Corps. The Carriage House and Gramercy Mansion are also available for weddings, meetings, seminars and parties. Located 20 minutes from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Gramercy provides easy access to museums, historic sites, theater and fine restaurants.

My husband is in the Military and currently separated from our family. He came home for a visit and we decided to do a getaway to celebrate our missed wedding anniversary. I chose Gramercy Mansion based on reviews; I'd never been there nor did I know anyone who had. The mansion is nice. It is rustique and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed in the Tower Room, it was roomy, a very nice size and the jetted tub is amazing. However, none of the aged beauty of the rooms compares to the service you will receive! I happened to mention our anniversary to the young lady (EMILIE) who checked us in and our dinner reservations that evening. She asked me what time was my reservation (at Stafford Grille, Columbia - highly recommend). I told her and thought nothing more of it. When we returned to the mansion after dinner, our entire room was covered in lit candles, bathroom and all. There was a rose on our bed and Ghirardelli chocolate with a note from Emilie. In addition, I brought a bottle of wine with me, she took the liberty of taking it out of the fridge and putting it on ice for us, as well as provided wine glasses. It was absolutely beautiful and honestly almost brought me to tears. She went above and beyond! Breakfast the next morning was exquisite. At Gramercy there is no such thing as that pretty continental breakfast at some hotels, a full meal is provided. If I had to be absolutely picky, my only suggestion would be the idea of gift items from floor to floor, seems more cluttered than it does items to be purchased. I would take one of the rooms downstairs and just make it a gift shop and remove the clutter. Nonetheless, my husband and I have every intention on returning in the Spring and although the prices are much higher in the Spring and Summer, it will be a trip well worth it!
Thank you so much for spending a belated anniversary getaway with us and sharing your review! We're so glad you enjoyed a special evening and Emilie was able to add some romantic touches to make it even more memorable. Your suggestion for our gift shop items is certainly appreciated and something we will definitely consider. Please do come see us again in the spring or summer and be sure to mention our military discount (15% off) available year round. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

We chose Gramercy as an anniversary getaway only a few miles from our home, and the setting and amenities were sufficient to make us feel we had journeyed far from Baltimore even while only minutes away from it. If you wander around the grounds you'll find some unkempt areas, but these are certainly not evident from the main house or its rooms. We chose the Blue Garden Suite, with fireplace and jetted bath, and found it very comfortable. However, the room could use a small amount of refurbishing, in particular new wallpaper. Breakfasts were well prepared and served by friendly staff. Unlike some other B&Bs, Gramercy is set up with individual tables rather than a group table for all guests; this allows for cozy, private meals but doesn't encourage getting to know the other guests. One item for those with pet allergies: they keep a long-haired cat on the premises, and I found myself sneezing (etc.). It wasn't a major problem, but you should be aware. Finally, our New Year's week rate was high. We did enjoy ourselves, but I would think twice about the price next time.
Thank you very much for staying with us during the holidays and for taking time to share your experience! We appreciate your feedback as it helps us to continually improve our accommodations and services. I've shared your comments with our owner and we're in the process of making some updates to the property during our slower winter season. If price is a concern, we do offer reduced winter rates December - March, excluding the week between Christmas and New Years and some holiday weekends. But you can definitely take advantage of those discounts and room of the month specials during the rest of the year. We would love to welcome you back for a future getaway. Thank you again!

My husband and I recently stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We had stayed previously. It did not disappoint. The room was lovely and the property is lovely. The flowers and lovely trees make this a very romantic place. Our room had a small porch with a table and chairs, so we could sit outside. The room had a flat screened TV and cable service. There was also a microwave and a small refrigerator. They were stocked with water, sodas, and microwave popcorn. The bath had a large jet tub that fits two people. The bathroom was large and also had a walk in shower. Robes were in the closet along with beach towels. There is a pool, which we used. We were the only ones at the pool so it was very serene. Breakfast the next day was excellent. You order from a menu the night before and you can eat in the dining room or have it delivered to your room. We did the latter. There are many choices including waffles, pancakes, eggs, omelet, oatmeal, fruit, and juices. The staff is very friendly. The rest of the mansion has a large dining room and several sitting rooms.
Thank you so much for spending your anniversary with us and taking the time to share your kind review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and previous stays. My husband and I wanted a romantic, somewhat local getaway without the local feel. The Gramercy was the perfect place! Still close enough to Baltimore if you want to drive into the city for dinner. We stayed in the Camelot suite this last weekend and it was beautiful. I asked that they put some tealights in the room to add a little more romance, and the staff went above and beyond by placing rose petals, flowers, and candles in the room for us. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful as well. They definitely took care of our every need!!
Thank you so much for staying with us and taking time to share your experience! We're so happy you enjoyed the romance of the Camelot Room - one of my favorites. Definitely come see us again. Stay in touch on Facebook and join our mailing list online for promos and specials. Thanks again!

What an amazing place for such a "beautiful" wedding... Everything in the venue was at best the most amazing experience. A day to be remembered by our family and friends for a long time to come. Thank you Gramercy, for making my son's special day, such an Epic event. And thank you William for all your help, you truly are an extraordinary person. That breakfast was fabulous, couldn't ask for anything better.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience at Gramercy! We were honored to be a part of your son's wedding day and so glad everyone enjoyed such a special celebration. Hope to welcome you back as our guest in the future!

Sorry for ripping off another reviewer's title, but it really does say it all. The secluded, peaceful, and just gorgeous location, wonderful mansion and grounds, truly excellent food (the best B&B breakfast I've had), at a great price make this a very special place. Enjoy.
Thank you so much for sharing your review! And we definitely hope you'll stay with us again soon!

What a great facility! Full of charm, antiques, and flowers. The grounds are wonderful to walk around, are well-kept and populated by antique statues, benches, archways, and other surprises. The food and service is wonderful. It IS an old building, so don't be surprised if the wood floor squeaks, but it is just enough to give character. The rooms are VERY well appointed and I wouldn't change a thing. I'm also Googling the mattress model to buy for my home because it was a wonderful night's sleep.
Thank you so much for the terrific review! We're so glad you enjoyed staying with us... and aren't the beds amazing? What would a B&B be without a super bed and delicious breakfast, afterall? We work hard to continue improving and providing great service and amenities for our guests. Thanks again!

My husband and I stayed at the Gramercy Mansion for a weekend, we wanted to celebrate our anniversary somewhere special. We have never been to a bed and breakfast but this truly met our expectations. There is near by dinning called Tark's Grill that was super good and you can dress up and enjoy some wine there as well. We stayed in the Ambassator's room where there was a fire place, we used it both nights, really was warm and cozy! Very inviting atmosphere in the mansion and the staff was very welcoming. The free breakfast we had both mornings was very good. Coffe was brought up to our both mornings too! I would truly recommend this getaway to anyone , we loved it and would like to visit again sometime.
Thank you so much for staying with us and taking the time to post a review! We're glad you enjoyed your anniversary getaway. Come back and see us when the gardens are in full bloom this summer or for one of our wine dinners by Chef's Expressions! Happy anniversary and thanks again!

After falling in love with the property by chance and taking on the huge task of restoring it to it's former beauty and historic charm, we found ourselves opening the doors to welcome B&B guests a few rooms at a time. Almost thirty years later, Gramercy has grown and evolved. It's our pleasure to host many weddings and events each year in the Mansion and Carriage House. We've also opened a second inn and event venue in Baltimore city, 1840s Carrollton Inn and 1840s Plaza.
