This place is wonderfully situated in a quiet part of Annapolis, right near the water. The atmosphere is very relaxed. We arrived late (drove through D.C.) and it seemed like we interrupted a family party, but the hosts were inviting and even offered us leftovers! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It felt very comfortable and homey. We stayed in the king room. The room was spacious and the bed was very cozy. We were happily surprised to find two small bottles of wine and chocolate in our room, which we made use of. There doesn't seem to be central air, as this is an authentic antique place, but there was a window A/C unit that kept the room well chilled even for my boyfriend, who is always overly warm! The A/C was a little noisy, but I actually liked it because I usually sleep with a fan on for white noise, and I didn't have to here. There is also a ceiling fan if the A/C unit is too much. Breakfast was yummy and filling. Very down home; eggs, bacon, french toast, OJ, tea coffee... Again, enough to keep fill up my boyfriend, which isn't easily done! We were there for the Annapolis ten miler, so we didn't get much time to sight-see, but we'd been in town before. We did get down to the water one evening. It's a short walk to the water from the house, and our host rightfully provided bug spray. Sitting on the water was wonderful and romantic. In a nutshell, we can't wait to go back to this place!

The Thorpe's are wonderful. I was in town for a half marathon. I stayed just one night but the place was great. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was also clean. The thing I loved the most about the bathroom was the towels. They were very thick and comfy. I think the best thing about the farmhouse was the breakfast. It was to die for. I know that I will be back at the farmhouse later this year with my soon to be wife. She was unable to go with me but saw pictures and said she can't wait to go. I could not stop talking about the place. It is a little heaven on earth. The cost was very reasonable as well.
