Samuel Fitch House

  • The Samuel Fitch House was built in 1711 and to date has many original features including six fireplaces, wide pine floors, a parson's cabinet, smokeroom, icehouse, and beamed ceilings. A barn has been converted into a separate Carriage House and the woodshed into an office. This home is filled with many period pieces and wonderful artwood by a local artist. Old established plantings including several varieties of trees, flowers and berries make this a wonderful yard to explore. A full country breakfast includes berries in season from the Fitch House gardens. An outdoor deck, patio, and screened porch are available for guests to sit and enjoy the gardens. The property is located next door to Nashoba Valley Ski and Swim Area for both winter and summer recreation.

Lynne was the highlight of our stay. She went out of her way to make us comfortable and welcome. The house boasted of authenic history. The breakfasts were delicious. Rooms were very clean with fresh flowers. I especially enjoyed the walks in the morning with Lynne and Malcolm (the dog). Thanks, Diane and daughters Julie, Susan & Sara Cumming, GA

Stayed in the attached post & beam cottage for about a month with my 7 year old son and we both loved it. Comfortable, clean, and friendly. The cottage was a great experience overall -- that vacation cabin feel. Perfect for our extended stay while waiting for a home closing.

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and it was a great experience. The house had a lot of interesting history and a unique charm about it. The innkeeper was very accomodating and cooked an excellent breakfast!
