This B&B did not meet our expectations. The grounds are beautiful, and the exterior of the building is very nice. However, our room looked more like a motel than a B&B, with an industrial-looking bathtub in the middle of the room.

    Innkeeper Response
Thank your for your feedback. We have only three rooms that feature a whirlpool tub in the guest room, the other rooms have the same type tub but they are located in the enclosed bathroom. In the Painted Lady building the George and Martha rooms and in the Abbey the Saturday room the tubs are in the room. The tubs are ultra massage tubs that push air not water. The effect is extremely soothing. We have guests stay just to take a tub as we are on the website for the manufacturer. They are truly amazing and wish only that you experienced the effect. As far as decor each room have all been painted and refreshed every season. They have flat screen 22" TVs and a 40" in the Saturday room. In addition the George has a gas fireplace. Guests love to sit in the tub with the fireplace going! The bedding is 400 thread count. All three rooms are the most requested becuase of the tubs! The Saturday room is located in the Abbey the former church. The stainglass window of Gabriel the angel is amazing. The room faces directly south and just has an awesome feeling. We have had rave reviews about the Bistro recently with Zagat the highest for decor (29) and 27 for food and 27 for service. This is an exceptional rating in our peer group. Breakfast we offer two entrees during the week with Sunday a full menu of six items...howvere we will make whatever the guets requires cheerfully! Only two other restaurants had a Zagat rating of 27 for food on the Cape. Boston TV Channel 5 Chronicle has featured us three times, most recently June 5th, just becuase of our uniqueness! It is very unfortuanate that you felt as if you were in a motel becuase that is not what we are.... sometimes we cannot meet all expectations and only hope you revist us to truly experience what we have to offer!

Spent just one nite, but had a nice sunny afternoon in the Saturday room. Food is some of the best on Cape Cod and wine dinners are an added value.

Belfry Inn is a sweet Victorian BnB in a pleasant neighborhood with some nice shops. The beach is not too fare away as well. Breakfast is served and you can decide between two dishes. The quality is good, but the menu is repetitive. We stayed in the pretty small but beautiful “Ida room” in the “Painted Lady”. This is a room with two separated beds. There are tiny little stairs for children going up to a tiny little tower next to the room. Together with the room on the other side of the floor it is ideal for a family. The other guesthouse is totally different and perfect for couples. Many rooms are provided with a fireplace and a whirlpool. The rooms in the church are very unusual with huge church windows.

Great B&B in a Sleepy Little Town

This B&B was very nice and we had a great time but if you are looking for a town with night life this wouldn't be the place for you. Stay here if you are looking for quiet, peace, and relaxation.

Belfry in is actually 3 different buildings: the Belfry (old Catholic Church), the Painted Lady (Victorian home) and a Federal Style home. I had booked a room at Painted Lady (I love Victorian homes). When I got there, the proprieter had "upgraded" us to the Federal Style Home withour telling us a head of time. Yes, it was a larger room and charming decor, but would have liked to know ahead of time. The oilet and shower were in a separte room from the double sinks. However, there was no towel ring or bar next to the sinks to hold the towel. There also wasn't any soap for the shower, only foaming hand soap. Spoke to the proprieter the next morning. He promptly went to the building to ask house keeping to get us some soap. It never happened. Over all, the stay was okay.
