The accommodations were impeccable, and the owner is a wonderful and charming woman! Joyce gave us some outstanding places to check out while visiting Rockport as well as Gloucester. Absolutely a must place to visit the next time we are anywhere near Rockport! Thanks Joyce for making our stay at the Mooring Stone a memorable one!

We arrived just ahead of the weekend traffic at about 3pm on Friday afternoon. The innkeeper, Joyce, was working in the garden when we arrived. She quickly cleaned up a bit and showed us to our rooms, explaining plans for breakfast along the way.. Her friendly approach was refreshing and delightful as we chatted and laughed our way through a brief tour of the tea house and gardens. We had two peaceful, uninterrupted night's sleep and wanted to stay for a third, only to learn that the rooms were already booked and full for the third evening. We were so pleased with our experience, we've already booked three nights for June 2012.

I'm particular about where I stay. If you want to avoid busy hotels, noisy motels, B&B's with thin walls and antiquated everything, try the Mooring Stone. Located in a residental neighborhood just a short walk from lovely downtown Rockport, the rooms are modern, extremely quiet, and well appointed. Joyce Cannon, the innkeeper, has an engaging personality and is all business when it comes to insuring that your stay is succesful. The value is here--compare her rates in the immediate area. The fare includes a tasty breakfast in her serene teahouse fenced in behind her house. What's not to like--simply put, this place works for travelers who want more of a home-like experience. Stayed a weekend here and we couldn't have been happier. Joyce's restaurant and local attraction recommendations were spot on and the proximity to the town couldn't be beat. At breakfast we enjoyed lively conversation from both guests as well as friends. Rooms were big, very clean and had a private bath. I would recommend this B&B to anyone, and we will certainly be back for a return visit!

We just completed our 4th stay at this lovely B&B. Joyce, the innkeeper is a delight and so helpful in every way! Rooms are large, super comfy and immaculate. The decor is easy, not fussy, and very soothing. Other B&B locations tend to overdo the lace and ruffles. This is like you're at a lovely beach retreat. Tea house in back is charming for breakfast or to just go and enjoy a great book. Breakfast items such as muffins, danish, cereals and yogurt are there for the taking all day long. Coffee and tea are also available. It's more than enough to get you started on a great, fun-filled day in Rockport. Location is perfect for downtown, (three minute walk), but just far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Walk three minutes up the hill, in the opposite direction, towards beautiful beach area open to public. Famous Headlands a two minute walk. Our family always goes together, so we take over the three room wing. It's like having our own private suite, with plenty of privacy. Would highly recommend this lovely establishment to anyone.
