Sugar Maple Trailside Inn

Located in Florence, a village within Northampton, Massachusetts, the Sugar Maple Trailside Inn has two comfortable guest rooms on the second floor—each with private bathrooms.

The Inn is an 1865 house that underwent a complete and careful restoration in 2002. It was awarded the coveted Historic Preservation Award by the City of Northampton in the spring of 2003. In the fall of 2003, the restoration was featured on HGTV's Restore America--episode # 908.

Though the Inn honors the past, it does not forget the present and offers the modern amenities that discerning travelers expect. Both guest rooms have extensive antique furnishings, air-conditioning, and free access to the internet by way of a broadband wireless network. An extensive continental breakfast is offered each morning that includes fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, yogurt, coffee, various teas, and orange juices. We also offer our guests the convenience and security of an on-line calendar and reservation system found on our extensive web site at: .sugar-maple-inn For the active visitor, the Inn sits adjacent to a paved biking and hiking path that in a few years will be largely open all the way to New Haven Connecticut some 80 miles to the south. The inn boasts one of the region's largest collections of antique railroad maps, documents, and books about regional railroad history. Guests are welcome to peruse the library and relax in a cozy rocking chair on the three-season porch—or on our Goshen-stone patio that is directly adjacent to the rail trail.
