My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Veranda House on Nantucket Island. I've stayed at several other B&Bs before including ones on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. I'd have to say this ranks up there with some of the best. The rooms, while small (as typical among B&Bs) were very well appointed. The bathrooms were among the best I've seen. The location of the hotel was excellent, short walk from the Ferry and to all the retail in the area. Food & service were great. The one negative item was the quality of window unit air conditioners. Our visit was in Sept and the rooms were quite hot and took awhile to cool down with the undersized units (we stayed in two separate rooms due to availability: one unit seemed to work better than other). In mid-August I wonder if it would be an issue. I'd just ask in advance to turn on the unit or for one that has better unit. Overall, a great place to stay.

We have been to Nantucket many times, but the Veranda House is the only place to stay. The Harbor views are incredible and the cool, hip decor is outrageous. Stay no where else.
