The Hungry Whale Guest House is a lovely quaint bed and breakfast owned by the Sullivan’s, Dennis and Mary Ellen. The Hungry Whale B&B Guest house has been operating since 1969. In 1998, Dennis and Mary Ellen took over the Inn from Mary Ellen's mother, Mrs. Johnson. They continue to run the inn with the same charm, warmth and hospitality. Mrs. Johnson also passed down her famous recipes for her awarding winning Jams,Jellies, Cakes and delicious Muffins, served daily to our guests. Because the Hungry Whale is so centrally located, walking or biking to town or the sun setting Step Beach is a delight. In town you can stroll through the unique shops or sit on the many benches outlining the Belguim cobblestone streets with an ice cream cone and just "people watch". Walk down to Children's Beach and watch the ferries come and go, or Stroll down to "Step Beach" with your favorite wine, and sit and watch the most amazing sunset's with colors that make Nantucket so unique.

Whenever I am asked the question, where would you like to be if you could be anywhere in the world, my answer has always been the same; “The Hungry Whale in beautiful Nantucket”! I have been coming here for over 25 years, and I look forward to it all year long. The owner of “The Hungry Whale” is warm, friendly, and always gracious. In fact, I now count her as one of my closest friends! I highly recommend the Hungry Whale. It is casual, comfortable, and always immaculate. It is within walking distance to the beaches, bike paths, and the town. I just love this place, and the people that run it! If you are looking for a small slice of Paradise, head to the Hungry Whale in Nantucket.

If you want to feel like you are at home, but be treated like you are in a 5 star hotel....then the Hungry Whale Guest House is for you. From the moment you walk in, Mary Ellen makes you feel so welcomed. The house is beautiful, and the outdoor areas are so relaxing. The breakfast we had with the fresh fruit, and homemade muffins was simply to die for. I couldn't get over how close to downtown it was, and at the price we payed, I was overjoyed. I loved Mary Ellen and the hospitality that she showed us was truly appreciated. We will be coming back this summer for a week.
