The Hungry Whale
The Hungry Whale is a lovely quaint bed and breakfast inn owned by the Sullivan’s, Dennis and Mary Ellen. The Hungry Whale B&B Guest house has been operating since 1969. In 1998, Dennis and Mary Ellen took over the operation from Mary Ellen's mother, Mrs. Johnson and they continue to run the inn with the same charm and warmth. Mrs. Johnson also passed down her recipes for her jellies and jams, cakes and muffins.
Because the Hungry Whale is so centrally located, walking or biking to town is easy! There, you can stroll through the unique shops or sit on one of the many benches outlining the cobblestone streets with an ice cream cone and just "people watch".
Check out the Children's Beach and watch the ferries come and go, while enjoying a cup of homemade New England Clam Chowder. Or, walk down to "Step Beach" with your favorite wine, and sit and watch the most amazing sunset with colors that you can only appreciate on Nantucket Island.
