Built in 1771 by a sea captain, occupied for a half century by Nantucket's leading female poet, and recently restored to its former lustre, the Cliff Lodge combines the charm and romance of a bygone era with all the comforts of home. With its many comfortable gathering areas, its working fireplaces, the luxury of its rooms, its peaceful garden patio, and of course its spacious roofwalk offering panoramic views of the town and the harbor, the Cliff Lodge is a place that can make you forget that you have ever worked for a living. We serve a bountiful continental breakfast prepared by our pastry chef, featuring her famous homemade granola and scones, another pastry, cereals, fruit, juices, gourmet coffee and tea, each morning. In the afternoon, we serve homemade treats and we are the only inn on Nantucket to offer regularly scheduled afternoon teas. In the heart of Nantucket's historic district, the inn is just a short walk from all the shops, beaches and restaurants in town. 12 rooms with private baths, tv, A/C, free wireless internet.

    What Royal Treatment!!

    August 30, 2009

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cliff Lodge. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable while giving us a feel of 1771 living (with TV and inside facilities.) The house hostess, Sally, is a friendly, efficient manager who made us feel like longtime friends. Return? You bet!!!!

    Charming and friendly

    October 09, 2007

Sally, the innkeeper, is the most gracious and friendly hostess you could want running a bed and breakfast. Her open and relaxed personality invited guests to mingle. She knew I was traveling on my own and asked me to join her and others for a cook-out at the Lodge. Not only did I have a wonderful time, but the other guests and I repeated the experience the next night. Sally's staff maintains a beautifully clean Inn and the bedrooms are charmingly decorated. The breakfast boasts a delicious seasonal fruit salad and superb baked goodies, such as scones or fruit filled pastries. My stay at Cliff Lodge will remain a highlight of my Nantucket visit.
