About

The Lyttleton Inn is a restored 19th century farmhouse that sits nestled in the Nashoba Valley, surrounded by the farming towns and villages of yesteryear, yet just steps away from the bustling town common. Seeing to the comfort of a traveller, whether for business or pleasure, is a New England tradition here at the Lyttleton Inn. Our guests discover delights in the most unlikely places; sumptuous feather beds, old-world baking, well-loved books and the gentle art of conversation. We invite you to come explore our wonderful Inn and experience the many activities of the Nashoba Valley region. Littleton is minutes away from two major freeways and the commuter rail, so the Lyttleton Inn is a perfect launch pad for day trips to Harvard, Devens, Lowell, Concord, Lexington and Boston. For the business traveller, the Inn is just a short walk away from the new IBM facility here in Littleton.

Refreshed!

5 on December 03, 2014

Lyttleton Inn was the perfect place for my husband and I to relax, savor being served a delicious breakfast (coffee was great, too), and use as a base for visiting nearby sites. We stayed in "The Naturalist" room. Highlight was being enticed by the many books in the room (their titles chosen to match the theme of the room). Thanks, Mary, for your wonderful hospitality!

A terrible experience

1.2 on October 24, 2014

We were refused breakfast unless we notified her the night before if we were having breakfast. "Private bath" had an extremely small shower only, no vanity, with a very small sink. Shower rod fell down repeatedly and the plumbing in the house was very noisy. The bath towels were worn. The mini bottles of shampoo and conditioner were used. The room, dressers and tables were cluttered with excessive knick-knacks. The stairs are very steep making it diffucult to carry our bags upstairs. Food was disappointing. Was repeatedly told by Innkeeper that she was "too busy" to get us ice and fresh coffee. No amenities in the rooms. No TV, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator nor access to ice. On one morning Innkeeper was "off" and breakfast wasn't provided. Our privacy was compromised when the innkeeper complained to an outside 3rd party about our stay there. We were not shown any respect nor did we ever feel welcomed there by her. Innkeeper went into our room, turned the A/C off and opened the windows instead. The inn is on a busy street and the morning traffic woke us up very early. Innkeeper was over controlling and went into our room and went through items we had bought as gifts, placed them in a cardboard box and put them on the FLOOR under a CHAIR! She was offended when we did not have breakfast and told us that when we did eat "it made her feel that we were comfortable at the inn". Parking was limited in the front of the inn and the Innkeeper took up a prime parking space while making "guests" walk the distance. All other parking was down a hill around the side and back of the building. A considerable way to carry your luggage. There was a bag of trash that sat in the front porch for 3 days before it was removed and was an eyesore. We ended up leaving 5 days early because of the odd and erratic behavior of the Innkeeper and when we went to check out on the last day we were agin told that she was "too busy" to check us out.

Wonderful stay!

Restful, welcoming, and just perfect.

Charming B&B

4.4 on August 05, 2014

My wife and I stayed a night here in early July 2014 and enjoyed our stay. The inn resides on a beautifully maintained property, with a farmhouse that feels both open and spacious on the outside yet private and cozy indoors. Mary was helpful and accommodating with our unusual arrival/departure logistics given our recent wedding, and she prepared a wonderful breakfast which we were encouraged to enjoy leisurely. Our only regret is that we did not have more time to spend here, but we would gladly stay here again.

Lovely weekend

We were very impressed with the beautiful décor, the warm staff, and comfortable atmosphere of the Lyttleton Inn. There were books everywhere!! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect B&B experience

4.8 on May 04, 2014

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Lyttleton and look forward to going back. The room (Mariner Room) was cosy, very clean, decorated with antiques and lovely details, lots of books and, most importantly, a very comfortable bed. The owner, Mary, is absolutely charming and the breakfast and snacks were out-of-this-world delicious. The location was perfect for the purpose of our trip (attending a concert at the Bull Run in Shirley, MA, just minutes away then visit to Lowell and Harvard the next day). Two thumbs way up from us!

Positively charming

Very homely, relaxing B and B. The lounge and dining areas were very welcoming with tea, coffee, plenty of books and newspapers to read - a real home from home.

Signature Dish

The Lyttleton Inn Classic
Nothing stirs the soul like being greeted at the table by freshly-baked Cinnamon Rolls, redolent with spices, currants and butter, and served fresh from the oven. The main course is The Purist's Omelet, a testament to farm-fresh produce, three eggs are cooked to perfection, and gently folded over fresh spinach, portobello mushrooms, and smoked vermont cheddar. Crisp bacon and fresh fruit in season round out a bounteous plate. Fresh juice, hot coffee and signature teas are generously provided.
