3.6 out of 5A Comfortable Inn at a Great Location
February 18, 2011
This Inn is located a short walk (half a block) from a beautiful stretch of private beach shared with other homes on the same street. (Most Cape Cod beaches are private.) Harwich Port is a great base from which to tour all areas of the Cape. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Our room rate seemed fairly expensive, although not particularly out of line from what other similar Inns in the area were charging. However, Alyce, the Innkeeper, seemed intent on minimizing her expenditures. There were flat screen TVs with the smallest screens we had ever seen, and the staff turned off our window air conditioner whenever we left the room (making it uncomfortably hot when we returned). The quality of our breakfast was excellent and varied every day. The service seemed a little rushed. Guests joked that Alyce would snatch their plates away as soon as they set their forks down (perhaps because there were not enough places at the table for all of the guests to eat). It spike of its quirks, we would recommend this Inn to other travelers.
Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your review to help us plan better in the future. Breakfast is served from 830-10 at one communal table comfortable for 10, allowing 30-45 minutes for partaking. If we have guests waiting to be served we may ask those who've finished their meal to continue their conversation in the living room. We choose the large table vs. small tables as we feel communion at the table is part of the B&B experience. There are separate eating areas if guests choose to eat away from the larger table. Our Standard Rooms have the smaller 17" TV's while the Luxury Rooms have 22"-27". We are a refined Inn offering gracious service and hope that those reading our reviews will come experience us for yourself. We hope to greet you and yours. Sincerely, Alyce and Staff4.6 out of 5Great find in the Cape

In a nutshell Dunscroft was wonderful. Every room well maintained and appealing. The easy access to a beautiful beach is a huge bonus. Alyce's runs a great operation!
5 out of 5Perfect Location
May 29, 2010
Dunscroft by the Sea is six houses from the water and six houses from RT. 28. We walked to the ocean then walked to dinner, ice cream and shops. We had a large beautiful room with practically a private side yard. There was a table and chairs right outside our room, perfect for wine and cheese. Alyce had a lot of menus from local restaurant to look at. As everyone mentions, her cooking is great. She puts a great breakfast. It was so nice to meet the other guests at breakfast. I can't wait to go back.

September 16, 2007
We were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was large, clean, and very private for a bed and breakfast. The house is steps away from the beach and a short walk into town. Alyce was very friendly and makes great french toast! We will be back!
5 out of 5Can'[t Wait to Return
August 10, 2007
My husband and I just returned from our stay at this lovely B & B. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful decor and a perfect location so close to the water and a quiet, private beach. Alyce, the Innkeeper was charming and served a delicious hot breakfast each morning in the lovely dining room. We are already looking forward to our return visit.
4.2 out of 5We hate leaving such a good review...LOL
August 10, 2007
Because it may cause the B+B to be sold out when we need it but, never, ever, have we been this pleased with accommodations, and add to that the friendly and scenic town, with the shops and restaurants, activities........everyone eager to please and make you feel at home....and Alyce was just plain great.....
3.0 out of 5Service Disappointing
April 17, 2007
The place was beautiful, but despite the fact that we were the only guests for the weekend, our hostess was quite rigid in her adherence to her schedules and seemed generally unwilling to provide any service beyond that which was absolutely necessary.
