Diane's home is beautifully appointed. It is quiet and peaceful. The continental breakfasts are simply delicious with a personal, homemade touch. Beverages and snacks are always available. A wonderful place to relax--inside or outside--all year long.

Beautiful location and the perfect host! Diane provided great advice on where to eat and what to see. Would recommend to anyone and hope to be able to return!

Tolles Haus direkt an einer Meerbucht gelegen und mit privaten Steg ins Wasser. Dazu eine sehr hübsch angelegte Terasse mit Sitzmöglichkeiten in der Sonne. Die Gästezimmer und das Haus ist komfortabel, sauber und zum wohlfühlen eingerichtet. Das Frühstück geht sehr persönlich zu und hat uns sehr gefallen. Golden Retriever Ecco ist sehr lieb und ruhig. We were greeted by Echo the wonder-dog, and found our room to be very cozy and romantic. Diane, the innkeeper, was very gracious.

We had a pleasant and very nice stay at the Baggins End Guest House. Diane is a wonderful landlady. The house with the garden is a perfect dream. The lovely Ecco is the cherry on the top. Next time we are around we'll stay definitely again at Baggins End Guest House.

We had a picture perfect wedding at the Baggins End Guest House in July 2011. The waterfront setting, outdoor tent, and grounds made for a beautiful evening. Our 80+ guests were blown away by the sunset and the peaceful boat traffic. Diane -- the innkeeper -- was so easy to work with and incredibly organized. She helped us stay on track with our vendors, ensured that the set up and tear down went smoothly and made a special effort to ensure that everything about the planning process and execution of our wedding was seamless. New Bedford worked great for our wedding because we wanted a waterfront setting without the Cape Cod traffic. And our guests could afford to stay right nearby as hotel prices are a much better value in New Bedford. A special highlight of the Baggins End is the dock--our whole wedding party arrived by boat which made the reception so unique. You could spend ten times as much for a venue and have nowhere near the beauty or the stress-free process that Baggins End provides. We simply could not have imagined a more beautiful spot for our wedding than the Baggins End Guest House! -Nick & Jennelle

Baggins End was the best place we stayed when we went all over East Coast. Clean, friendly, and very well located on the water. It was a beautiful place to stay in the waterfront room. The food was amazing. Diane's quiche was by far my favorite. and those dollar coin pancakes with fresh strawberrys and lemon marmalade. To die for! My wife and I celebrated our 7 years anniversary and Diane made it so special. She even waited up late for us til 11:30 because we drove from Philly and 1/2 of Conn. power was out due to Hurricane Irene. But she called me to make sure we were okay to make it there safe and soundly. Ecco the lab, the most beautiful dog ever! Very cute and friendly. went for a walk with us onto the dock. We could not have asked for more. When we go back to the East, we now have a second home in Baggins End. P.S. Happy 9th B-day Ecco!

This is a delightful b and b with a magnificent setting on the water overlooking new bedford, MA and the harbor. Diane, the wonderful hostess can't do enough to make your stay more pleasant and enjoyable.

We recently enjoyed a four-night stay at Baggins End (our second time) with Diane and Ecco. Diane (assisted by Ecco) is an exceedingly gracious innkeeper, and once again we thoroughly enjoyed the waterfront location, the comfort and cleanliness of the accommodations, the great breakfast and the pleasant company of Diane and Ecco. It really does feel like home, and we very much look forward to our next stay (which hopefully will be when we can really enjoy spending time outdoors on Diane's patio with the fantastic views of the waterfront!) - Ron & Kathy

Although the weather was bad the view of the harbor is fabulous. The Innkeeper - Diane - could not have been more helpful and helpful. We will definitely return in the future.

I spent two nights in February while visiting my son who is a cadet at MMA. Diane's kindness and hospitality made this place very welcoming and comfortable. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for tranquility, the best views and spotless rooms. Strongly recommend.

Loved this Bed and Breakfast. It had a beautiful view of the water and felt like home when you walked in. The breakfast was a little disappointing though. Needed more home made goods. Breakfast is one of the reasons we choose to stay at a Bed and Breakfast.

When we first arrived, Ecco was waiting to greet us. She was adorable and sweet. We had everything we needed at this B&B. Quiet, beautiful views, nice breakfast, clean rooms. This is the loveliest place to stay in the area, hands down. The waterfront is so relaxing, and the location is peaceful. It was perfectly spic n' span, and Diane is now a personal hero of mine, despite only knowing her for two days; wish we could've stayed longer, I'd move right in if I could!

When traveling in the Dartmouth-New Bedford area, you would be foolish not to stay here. The house sits right on the water with a priceless view of the NB waterfront. Room was terrific, breakfast hit the spot, and Diane truly makes you feel like family. I was there, unfortunately, for only one night and one morning, but I am certain I'll be back. Thanks Diane!

My husband and I stayed at Baggins End for 5 nights. The guest house was built by our proprietor, Diane, and it is just magnificent. The view is gorgeous, the house beautiful, the interior decorating divine. Diane and her dog Ecco were so welcoming, and Diane such a fascinating person, that we felt as if we were visiting a friend, rather than enjoying a beautiful place to stay. We arrived at Baggin's End after a long drive from Vermont to be greeted by Ecco and Diane. A smile and two extremely friendly faces made the trip worthwhile and that was only the start. The house is breathtaking with magnificent views over the waterfront. The rooms are extremely comfortable and although you have to share a bathroom - don't let that put you off. It is more than worth that small inconvenience. You couldn't find a more welcoming Guest House and we have been in a lot of B&B's in America. We would go back tomorrow in fact we didn't want to leave we were made so welcome. We didn't just go to a B&B we made friends with two wonderful characters. Thanks for everything Diane and Ecco. Just across the Harbor from New Bedford and the wonderful whaling museum is this shingle-style delight, run by a delightful innkeeper with her delightful golden retriever! A must-visit!

I was in the area for a training workshop and just happened to find Diane on the internet. I'm typically a 'budget-conscious' traveler, so the convenience and reasonable rate was the reason I chose Baggins End. Was I surprised! The house was beautifully decorated - the room and bath outfitted in lovely linens and everything one could possibly desire. Just perfect!

Ther very pleasant innkeeper will greet you with warmth that will last your entire stay. The rooms are cozy, very clean and charming. The view is spectacular. Just go!

From the moment I arrived - wistfully welcomed by Ecco - to the moment I left with a hug from Diane - I felt so comfortable here. Both make you feel comfortable in their home, but also give you your space. It's homey, but not cloying. Diane was able to point out lots of things to do in the area, and when we weren't doing that, we spent time on the dock out the back door or sitting in Adirondack chairs. There are many family photos around the house to look at, with stories attached to each one. There are beautiful views out every window. I was here in the fall, but the views would make it a wonderful place to be in any season. The Harborview Room was fantastic!

What a catch! We had the best time staying at Baggins End. Everything was excellent and the owner a lovely lady. The rooms were amazing, clean and beautiful. Breakfast outstanding! Absolutely the best place to go!

Outstanding in all respects. I felt like I was family. Location and view were sensational. Food was fantastic. Diane went out of her way to accommodate, even driving me to and from the ferry landing so I didn't have to leave my car on the waterfront overnight during my trip to the islands.

Diane and Ecco (her Golden Retriever) were excellent hosts. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The view across the bay is awesome and the deck is a perfect place to absorb it. The ambience of the house is true New England. There was also a countless number of options for breakfast from fruit to eggs to muffins; the coffee is excellent. I actually stayed there while on business, but I'm bringing my wife with me next time to enjoy the experience of Baggins End Guest House. Bill Hunsinger.

This is exactly what we were looking for...a quaint, quiet idyllic place to rest our heads while driving from New York to Martha's Vineyard. Our only regret is we didn't get to stay longer. Diane waited up for our late arrival and had hot coffee and breakfast ready for our early a.m. departure. Next time maybe Martha's Vineyard can wait.

What Bed and Breakfast comes complete with a place to anchor your boat? Baggins End is an awesome experience... gorgeous view, above-the-call-of-duty assistance from the owner (Diane), warm welcome from Ecco (the laid-back golden retriever), crispy sheets, comfortable bed, and extra yummy breakfast. There are only two bedrooms for rent, but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor space for a reception or a party. We've already recommended Diane's new B&B to our friends. We'll be back! Baggins End is located on a PRIME piece of waterfront property, overlooking the upper part of Fairhaven/New Bedford harbor. South-facing, the views on all sides are STUNNING. This was my first impression upon entering the lovely home. Owner and operator, Diane, met us warmly and explained that she had purchased the land and built the house to her specifications - around the year 2000. At the time, she had not expected to turn it into a Guesthouse - but times and circumstances change - and so now we can be the lucky/happy/thrilled temporary guests at Diane's unique New England spot. What's more, Baggins End has a newly-built, industrial strength, beautiful Boat Dock - right at the corner of this prime location. Sit on the expansive stone terrace, enjoy breakfast in the light airy breeze, and watch the boats come and go in the Harbor. We had an PERFECT stay at Baggins End. Diane went out of her way to accommodate any request, and we loved the morning breakfast spread. This is a sure-thing as far as satisfaction and DELIGHT are concerned. Thanks to Baggins! - Carl

We were on a trip through the New England States for three weeks and found with Baggins End a wonderful B+B on a gorgeous place, immediantly next to the waterfront, with an own boardwalk. We are a young couple from Germany, that`s why we want to pay attention to the amazing breakfast (not only a cup of coffee and a cake) ;), the loving rooms and the hearty and obliging Innkeeper Diane. A nice daytrip was to the "mansions" of Newport and also Boston is not far away. All in all it was by far the most awesome experience to stay there and so we learned more about the american way of life. The best wishes from Germany!
