Experience our historic town by staying in a house whose family was part of early 17th century Cambridge history. Over 150 years ago The Mary Prentiss Inn was a county estate. Built in neoclassic Greak Revival style with monumental pilasters-a full front porch adorned with fluted columns & Ionic capitals. Today it is set in an urban landscape with renowned universities, museums, theaters, bookstores, shops and resturants just footsteps away. Relax in casual elegance. The Inn's 20 rooms, all with private bath, feature four-poster and cannonball beds. Each room is unique with a variety of amenities-exposed beams, pine floors, shutters, wallpaper, and furnished with one of a kind antiques. Many rooms have recently been refurbished and some feature working fireplaces and large soaking jacuzzi tubs.

This is one of those rare finds that you both want to tell everyone about AND want keep as your own precious secret. Location is terrific. Rooms have all the amenities of a major hotel, but are cozy and have character. We felt like we were in a friend's well appointed guest suite. Having spent the previous weekend at a well known Vermont resort, I could not stop gushing about how much better this little spot was--across the board-- and that's not even mentioning what a better value! Free tea and coffee, as well as the generous and delicious homemade breakfast were the perfect cap to a perfect stay. We will definitely be back!

We spent 3 wonderful days in the Longfellow room. It felt like we were visiting a family friend or relative. We might even have felt Henry's presence. Jean and Doug

Everything was quite wonderful for our recent stay. The rooms were spacious and the food delicious. The only drawback is that a guest checked out quite early (4 a.m. or so) and slammed the door quite hard and woke us up! That was not the fault of the Inn, but rather a guest who doesn't know his own strength. I would definitely recommend this B & B!

Though our room was a bit small, the garden terrace and quaint dining rooms extended our space nicely. The walk to Harvard Square to see our son was easy; the location is great!

We have stayed here before and it more than met our expectations but this time we had a small room. Loved the cookies in the afternoon and the tea and coffee.

Homey and comfortable B&B for a great price. The staff was helpful and friendly. When I needed to stay an extra night, they gave me a great price. The room was spacious and beautiful. It was in a great neighborhood that was convenient to restaurants, and other attractions. The breakfast was great. I'll be happy to return to this B&B.
