Carolyn's Bed & Breakfast
The perfect destination for college visits, business trips or visiting the Cambridge/Boston area. Located on a quiet street in a residential neighborhood, this delightful renovated 100 year old farm house is 1.5 miles west of Harvard University. The house is located in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood in what was essentially a farming village in the 1600's. Public transportation is a 5-8 minute walk. The bus to Harvard Square takes about 5 minutes, where there is a "T" connection into Boston. There are neighborhood restaraunts, a 5 minute walk. It is between Fresh Pond Reservoir and the Mount Auburn Cemetery. Fresh Pond is a popular spot for joggers and walkers. Mount Auburn is America's first garden cemetery, and is known not only for its horicultural landscape but also as a bird sanctuary. You will enjoy the comfortable beds, lovely linens and warm comforters in the winter. Each guest room has a private bath. Breakfast, served in the dining area, includes home made pastries, fresh cut fruit and home made granola. The decor of the house reflects the tastes of the owner and is filled with eclectic art objects.

From Mass Pike West follow signs for Newton-Watertown, take exit 17. After stop sign stay left, at second light take left (there are signs Mass Pike--Watertown-Newton)....Move to right lane. At light follow signs to Watertown Route 16 to large intersection, move to right of four lanes (two left lanes are for left turn)--distance thus far 9/10 mile. Continue straight Route 16 East (Mt. Auburn St) through eight lights. At ninth light take a left on Arlington St. Continue to light, take a right on Belmont St. Follow Belmont St. for 3/10 mile. Just before second light take a left on Holworthy St. Carolyn's house is 2/10 mile on the left. Beige house. Total distance from Mass Pike exit is 3 miles.ALTERNATE ROUTE from Mass Pike: Follow signs for Cambridge-Allston. Take Cambridge exit. After second set of lights take a left on Soldiers Field Rd. Continue straight through lights (this is Storrow Drive) Follow signs Newton-Arlington (do not take Cambridge-Harvard Square exit). Follow signs Arlington-Fresh Pond Parkway to the right. Be sure to go right, not left). Stay in left lane (Mt. Auburn Hospital will be on the right). From Airport the subway is easy and inexpensive. Take Massport bus to subway Blue Line to Government Center. Green Line to Park Street. Red Line to Harvard Square. Walk towards main exit. There will be signs for the Watertown & Waverly bus #71 & 73. Take either the Waverly or Watertown bus to the Star Market stop. Walk towards Watertown. Holworthy St. is the first street on the right.BY CAR: Take Sumner Tunnel. At exit take second right, stay right, take Cambridge-Back Bay exit. Follow signs Storrow Drive West, and then follow signs Arlington-Fresh Pond Parkway to the right. Be sure to go right not left. Stay in left lane (Mt. Auburn Hospital will be on the right). Owned and operated a boutique in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA for 12 years. Developed a porcelain jewelry and a functional ceramic line, sold in local galleries as well as my boutique. Started a B&B in home 4 years ago. Working ceramic studio located in home. Have always maintained a strong interest in design which is reflected in my home. - The innkeepers speak: English
