    Encore B & B

    April 17, 2011

My husband and I stayed from 9 through 13 April 2011 at the Encore, a delightful bed and breakfast in the South End of Boston. Location was great, walking distance from the metro system and the Freedom Trail and some superb restaurants. Our room was very tastefully decorated and sunny, and the bed was very comfortable. We were lucky enough to have the room with a balcony which was very nice as we had good weather and could sit outside. Our host made us feel very comfortable and served us a delicious breakfast day. The pastries couldn't have been fresher as he went out and bought them fresh every day from the baker. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This is a top B & B! Leonard and Marianne from Dallas

    Best ever!

My boyfriend and I celebrated our four year anniversary in Boston and stayed at Encore. the $140 room rate was a bit much for us but we got a fourth night free, so it evened out! The location was absolutley key. It was within walking distance of the heart of Boston. There were great cafes and restaurants everywhere. The B&B itself was decorated beautifully and well kept. Reinhold was an exceptional host. His breakfast was delicious and had lots of choices. He was quick to go the extra mile. I packed a pair of boots and mismatched them from two pairs I have, one black and one brown. He was more than happy to find black paste so I could polish the brown shoe black and look somewhat acceptable. He even offered his museum membership card for us to use. It was a great experience.

    A perfect neighborhood B&B

    December 26, 2007

Boston is full of large, impersonal hotels and I've stayed in many of them. And I've usually avoided B&Bs since most are stuffed with chintz and Victoriana. But the past few years I've been returning to Boston's Encore, right off Tremont Street, to enjoy the modern rooms, beautiful neighborhood, closeness to downtown, and countless good restaurants. I've stayed at the Encore on both business and personal trips to the city. The B&B proper is two floors of a restored townhouse on elegant West Newton street. I like: the large beds with quality linens; the modern baths; host Reinhold who knows everything about Boston; the strong European coffee and delicious granola (among other choices) for breakfast; the wireless Internet connection; and the Bang & Olufson stereo in each room! This is a B&B for people who love cities, vibrant neighborhoods, and comfortable lodging with character and thoughtfulness.
