The Acworth Inn is the perfect refuge for those who wish to escape the hectic schedules of everyday life. Snuggled among the trees along the Olde King's Highway that winds through the historic, unspoiled north side of Cape Cod, The Acworth Inn offers guests an opportunity to relax and enjoy the Cape as it was made to be experienced. Built in 1860, the inn is a classic Cape home, completely renovated and elegantly decorated with charming hand-painted pieces, surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is an excellent mid-Cape location to easily explore any part of the area.
The Bayberry room has aa lovely queen size canopy bed, private bath with shower, and overlooks our back garden. It is decorated in beautiful shades of cream, burgundy and sage green.
The light and airy Beach Rose room has a queen size bed, private bath with shower, sitting area, and refrigerator. It is decorated in beautiful lemon yellow with floral accents and is a guest favorite. This room also has an optional twin bed and can accomodate a third person in the room.
The Hydrangea room is a beautiful tribute to Cape Cod's blue Hydrangeas, with a blue and white color scheme. It has a queen size bed, TV/DVD, and refrigerator. The elegant bathroom has a shower and a two person whirlpool tub.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Ackwood Inn on the weekend of August 2. The owner, Lisa,, was very friendly and accommodating. We flew into Boston late on Friday night and arrived at the inn after mid-night due to flight delays but Lisa was kind enough to make arrangements so that we were able to get to our room. The breakfast was delicious: omelet and apple crumble. My girlfriend felt that the omelet was heavy on the cheese but I was fine with it. The inn is located just off the main highway so we woke up to the traffic. The house had a typical 'old house' smell but that could very well be because it was located less than 2 miles from the ocean. We stayed one night and paid $250 ($50 extra because we were not staying 2 nights) which I thought was a bit steep.

Enjoyed our stay and visit with the hostess. Being located mid-cape it was ideal for our plans in both Woods Hole and Eastham. Would consider staying there again in the future.

My mother, cousin and I spend the long fourth of July weekend at the Acworth Inn. We arrived early on Thursday 7/3 and hit the beach immediately. I emailed the innkeeper, Lisa, to let her know we had arrived. She told us our room was ready and to let her know when we wanted to check in, so she could be available to personally greet us. When we arrived she was there with hello hugs for my mom and cousin (who were return customers) and warm welcome for me. The rest of the weekend at Acworth, played out as the perfect Cape stay. Lisa's breakfasts are divine - each morning was something new: from eggs with fresh berries to sour cream coffee cake to homemade blueberry lemon scones, to peach muffins. She was just so welcoming. The rooms are so quaint and comfortable, and they provide the perfect place to sleep after a busy day at the beach or shopping in Hyannis (we did both!). The common areas from the front living room to the rear deck are the perfect places to just sit and relax. The property is very peaceful and also boasts an adorable back lawn complete with hammock and lawn chairs. We were there during hurricane Arthur and got caught in the rain while walking around Hyannis. We arrived back at Acworth drenched, yet pleased to find Lisa welcoming us in and offering to launder our soaked outfits. You will never find this accommodation at any large hotel/motel. The Inn is in a historical home conveniently located on 6A and a short drive into East Dennis, Yarmouth and Hyannis. The Acworth is what a B&B should be; it's like being a guest in someone's home. It's immaculate and tastefully decorated. Anyone who wants to experience the Cape, should stay here instead of seeking out a hotel/motel with a pool, fitness center and wifi. The Cape is where none of those things are necessary! The worst thing about our stay at the Acworth Inn is that we had to leave! We will be back! Thank you, Lisa! Amy, Tina and Barbara

Lisa is super friendly and nice about everything. She also gave us a lot of advise about trip planning. The room is very beautiful and clean, and the breakfast is so yummy. We really enjoy staying at Lisa's lovely place for the weekend and definitely recommend it to everyone. The only two minor things that I would note is that 1) our room is facing the street and can get a bit of traffic noise from outside, and 2) the water is not hot enough to use the bathtub (or midnight is kind of late to use it anyway).

This was my second stay at Acworth Inn, the first in 2004. We had 2 rooms booked, both were lovely and inviting. Lisa is a wonderful host, you will feel very at home. Breakfast was amazing each day. The Acworth is conveniently located in Barnstable (or Cummaquid to be exact) on Route 6A, so centrally located to the main roads on the Cape. Book this B&B, you won't be disappointed.

We spent two nights in this lovely facility and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hostess was not only friendly but also very helpful in every way. All things about the home and our visit were more than acceptable.

Second time we have stayed here. Great place for a romantic get away. Lisa makes you feel like old friends not a guest. You can't go wrong with the Acworth Inn. Ed & Marcia
