Hambleton Inn Bed and Breakfast
-
Nestled in the heart of the historic district of St. Michaels, right on the harbor, the Hambleton Inn is an elegant historic shipbuilder's home from another era (circa 1860).
The Dorchester is a wonderful, large, king room with a view of the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay. Located on the first floor, just steps away from our first floor porch and dock, the Dorchester offers a water view, a king size four poster bed, Ralph Lauren linens, comfortable antique furnishings, original hardwood floors, oriental carpets, an ornamental fireplace, a David Lee print, and a private bath.
A hot gourmet breakfast awaits you each morning at the Hambleton Inn.
Sip a glass of complementary sherry or port wine (offered each afternoon) as you rest on the porch overlooking the harbor.
Our beautiful view of the harbor from the upper porch of the Hambleton Inn.
The Michener Suite is located on the entire top floor of the Inn with the best view of the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay in St. Michaels. Tucked under the eaves of the Inn, the Michener Suite has an Eastlake antique queen size bed, Ralph Lauren linens, bathrobes for two, and a full private bath with a Victorian copper bathtub.
The Somerset is our largest room at the Inn, and boasts a view of the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay. Located on the first floor of the Inn and just steps away from the first floor porch and our dock, the Somerset offers a romantic four poster king size bed, Ralph Lauren linens, signed prints of eighteenth century Clipper ships, eclectic, comfortable antique furnishings, original hardwood floors and oriental carpets, and a spacious, new private bath with bathrobes for two.
The copper bath in our Michener Suite
The Talbot is a queen size, water view room on the second floor of the Inn, just steps away from the second floor porch, overlooking the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay. One of our most popular rooms, The Talbot is newly decorated with a four poster queen size bed, Ralph Lauren linens, antique furnishings, John Moll artwork, hardwood floors and oriental carpets, and a full, private bath.
The Hambleton Inn has all the expected amenities of any first class Inn, but it has its own distinctive character, as well. Located right on the water in St. Michaels, one of the great sailing capitals of the world and the site of Michener's novel, Chesapeake, the Hambleton Inn is a treasure of the bay. There is even an upper floor porch providing a clear view of boats on the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay, and the lighthouse of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
The Princess is a queen sized room, located on the second floor of the South Wing of the Inn, with a new full bath, and access to a living room with the best view of the water in St. Michaels. Furnished with a magnificent walnut antique bed and chest, the Princess is simply beautiful, newly decorated with Ralph Lauren linens, original artwork and signed photographs, and French lace at the window.
The Queen Anne is a queen size, water view room on the second floor of the Inn, just steps away from our second floor porch, overlooking the Miles River and the Chesapeake Bay. The Queen Anne is our lightest room with windows on three sides, covered with French lace. A cozy and comfortable room, the newly decorated Queen Anne offers Ralph Lauren linens, antique furnishings, original artwork, Waterford lighting, hardwood floors and oriental carpets, and a private bath nestled in the corner.

The Hambleton Inn is located on the water right in front of The Maritime Museum and is a short walk to many restaurants and stores. The inn is very peaceful and has a pleasant view. We stayed in the Michener Suite on the 3rd floor. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The owners / innkeepers, Sherry and Charles, were very friendly and helpful in recommending local activities, etc. They offer many brochures and maps for the area. They even offer a discount coupon for the Maritime Museum for their guests in addition to a complimentary copy of Michener's book “Chesapeake”. Being book lovers, this certainly warmed our hearts. The breakfasts were relaxed and absolutely delicious! Sherry served a unique french toast recipe that is among the best that I have ever tasted and, for the first time in my life, we had dessert after breakfast. We loved it and plan to recommend The Hambleton to our friends and family.

The Hambleton Inn B&B offered warm hospitality and was a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I found the Inn to be relaxing. It is convenieny located to the center of St. Michael's (about a half-block) and is near the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The room was very comfortable, particularly the bed, and provided all the necessary conveniences. The port wine in the afternoon was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was great. We highly recommend it.

I am sorry we missed your breakfast for having to leave early. It was so kind of you to be sure we did not leave hungry, with the fruit and very good pound cake with strawberrys, it was just right. Thank you for your kindness.
