What a Wonderful place to get away from a busy schedule and just relax. The mansion was done very nicely, with beautiful furnishings, relaxing atmosphere and a very nice hostess (Carol). Havre De Grace was also very nice to just walk around and visit various shops.

    Awesome place to stay!

We just spent 3 nights in the Carriage House at the Spencer Silver Mansion, it was AWESOME! The main house is a beautiful Victorian mansion and the lovely Carriage House sits directly behind it. We were looking for a cozy place to hunker down for the storm and this was the perfect place. The Carriage house is completely charming with the fireplace, spiral stair to the bedroom and great jacuzzi tub for two - the tub was great after walking around town in the snow! Breakfast was incredible. The staff were beyond pleasant and helpful. They even pay attention to little details, like having fresh ground coffee, creamer and candies in the room. Our entire stay was picture perfect. Whether you are coming from far away, or looking for a local hideaway, I strongly suggest you look into staying with Carol!

Awesome house, great innkeeper, great location.

I reserved the carriage house for my one-year anniversary, and was totally happy I did it. I was only there for one night, but I plan on staying there again in the future. The carriage house is separate from the main house, so that's nice for privacy. It's two floors, with the bedroom on the second floor up a spiral staircase. The bed was very comfortable. There is a kitchenette, and a living room with a fireplace on the main floor. There is a hot-tub in the bathroom, and it's bigger than the picture makes it seem. Walking over to the home the next morning, we met the innkeeper for breakfast. She owns the home, and runs the B&B and is VERY approachable for conversation. The house is well kept, and clean. Carol (the innkeeper/owner) is very detail oriented, and it's apparent in how she's restored the home. Everything from period antiques, to detailed wallpaper on the ceiling, to custom Italian plasterwork on the ceiling, to stained glass windows. Even the outside of the house is taken care of...which is saying A LOT for old Victorian homes like this. To sum it up, this place is totally worth the price alone, but if you talk to Carol and walk around the house you'll get more than you paid for.

Tell the innkeeper that sent you.
