The Columbia Inn at Peralynna Manor

Our stay was very relaxing. We really enjoyed our selfs, also we ate dinner at the Melting Pot which was very close. We stayed for one night and we wish would have booked for the whole weekend. But we will come back again!!!

Two of my close friends and I stayed at the Inn for a Girls' Weekend and had such an incredible stay. When we arrived on Friday night, we were greeted by David & Cynthia and ended up talking to them for a while. We felt like we were relaxing in our own house and the owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming. I have stayed at several B & B's all over the country and I've got to say this is one of my favorites. The Inn is beautiful, the food is delicious and the hospitality is above and beyond. We are looking to make this an annual stay for our Girls' Weekend. Thank you David, Cynthia and the entire staff. We'll definitely be back :)

Great B&B had a really nice time. Very homey.

We stayed in the smallest room available and it was the perfect size. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was always snacks out and available for when we got hungry. There was also wine and soda at all times. Everyone was very friendly. Our stay was wonderful!

Escaped for just one night, but it was truly lovely-- just elegant enough to feel special, just homey enough to feel comfortable.

From the first moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. David and Cynthia are very personable. The accommodations were great and comfortable. We were celebrating our 20 wedding anniversary and then the next day was Valentines day. The Valentines dinner and dancing was great. LIVE BAND, awesome. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I just spend my second annual Christmas Eve and Christmas Day retreat at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna Manor, and I have to say that the second time was as good as the first. The staffis extremely kind, welcoming and gracious. Christmas Day, both David and Cynthia mingled, greeted and chatted with the guests. Just like last year, I was able to spend Christmas Day relaxing on one of the soafs by the Christmas Tree, watching movies and listening to music on my tablet. A sumptuous diner of roast turkey, mashed sweet potatoes, scalloped potatoes, dressing, rolls and gravy was ready prmptly by 5pm. I went back throughout the night for seconds thirds, and midnight snack. Btw, the staff worked early in the morning to make the delicious chocolate cake, cookies, and beautifully decorated red velvet and vanilla cupcakes. Breakfast cooked to order is top notch. Thanks to David, Cynthia, and the entire staff for making my stay enjoyable. This will be an annual tradition for me.

I surprised my wife with a stay here for our 15th anniversary. We stayed in one of the premiere suites and it was very nice. The bathroom had a large shower and tub, all decked out in nice marble tile. The bed was very comfortable and we took advantage of being without the kids to catch up on some sleep. The Inn is close to some very nice areas. We took advantage of walking in nearby Centennial Park, dinner at the Iron Bridge Wine Bar and Ellicott City.

The Inn needs repair. Fan cover in bathroom falling off. Dirty carpet in high traffic areas. Staff needs to realize that the customers are paying their salaries. Breakfast cook was rude and reminded us that the kitchen closes at 10 am. We were there at 10:05. You should blend in curtosy and accomodation for those paying more to stay at the Inn than the cost of a room at Hotel Del Coronado, CA. It will be hard to reccomend the Inn to other guests.

My wife and I stayed here the night after our wedding before heading off on our honeymoon. The room was exactly as advertised on the inn's website, and it actually felt a little larger due to the cathedral ceilings we couldn't see on the photos. The amenities package that I ordered was a very nice touch, and the room was very nice and romantic. If it had cost a bit less I would be more than happy to make a repeat visit for a longer stay - maybe later, if our budget can afford it! The made-to-order breakfast was very good and the inn had a very comfortable, friendly feel to it. If you haven't been to a bed and breakfast before this is definitely a great one to try out. It's not the cheapest place to spend the night in the area, but it is definitely a worthwhile experience if you haven't done it before!

My girlfriend and I loved the place overall. For the price of an above average hotel room anywhere else, we stayed in a suite that was bigger than my apartment. Most of the fixtures looked great, the bed was super comfortable, and breakfast was delicious in the morning. The owners were friendly and accomodating, and having a porch to hang out on was a big plus. We didn't spend too much time in the common areas, but they looked good and comfortable. I wish we had stayed for more than one night. The only complaint I had is that the room looked like it could use a visit from a handyman and a painter, and we walked through a couple of other rooms that appeared to be in need of similar attention. Electrical switches that didn't appear to turn anything on or off, dull/scuffed paint along the walls (like someone removed a fixture and then just left the wall the way it was), burnt out light bulbs, and the shower curtain in our bathroom looked like it was about ready to fall off the ceiling. I'd also advise future guests to be mindful of the place's layout before booking a room. At least one room was right next to the front door / dining room, for example, so depending on which room you book you might have to deal with some additional noise. All that said, I'd definitely stay again, but probably for more than one night this time.

I found our stay to be nice. The people and the service was good. The furniture in the room and common area was at some points worn. It felt in some areas corners were too cut to justify the price. Wine served all day was wine in a box.

Between the complimentary wine, strawberry pancakes, and the potatoes that were beyond delicious, I wanted to live here! The only issue I had was the key to my room occasionally got stuck and the filter in the jacuzzi tub could've used a cleaning...there ended up being something floating in the tub after I used it. But everyone was very hospitable and I really enjoyed my stay.

My wife and I sought out a little local "stay-cation" after plans to go abroad for our 7th anniversary failed to pan out. Given the fact that the inn was only minutes away by car, neither of us had any exceptionally grand expectations to begin with, but we realized that we were wholly incorrect when we arrived. The manor looked every bit the inviting and cozy when you walk through the doors, and Harry (one of the staff members) who greeted us had been most welcoming. Our rooms felt very clean and comfortable, with memory foam beds and fresh linens throughout. There were a number of other guests that night, and everyone kept their noise levels to respectable ranges. We had a fantastically relaxing evening and woke to a tasty breakfast that had options made to order. If there were any actual shortcomings to note, it may only be that some of the breakfast items were deemed to be overcooked, but don't let that take away from what the inn or the staff have to offer. We highly recommend anyone considering to give it a whirl, but do take the chance to book some of the larger, more luxurious rooms. Some things aren't meant to be skimped on, and the higher-end rooms are the way to go. We'll definitely be looking for future stays here.

Only downside could be that there is not a ton to do in walking distance or within short drive. Overall, I would recommend the Inn as a nice place to relax for a weekend.

My home away from home….literally! Peralynna is, indeed, a very special place. David and Cindy are not only top notch professionals, but they are kind and considerate individuals, accommodating- and, well, family… It is so beautiful to see two people as passionate about their business as they are about one another after all these years. After a sound sleep on the most comfortable mattress, and a yummy breakfast, I spend my mornings taking a walk around the beautiful Centennial lake. In the evenings, I enjoy sipping a cup of tea while sitting on the porch swing gazing at the clouds. There is always an opportunity to meet a new friend, or simply search out the quiet nooks for your own “quiet” time. I have referred many to Peralynna over the years. The location is terrific for and there is something for everyone whether you are seeking a romantic escape, a casual break away, or a comfortable environment for the business trip. I have experienced all three at the inn, but, the reason I continue to return is for the calming and welcoming atmosphere that allows you to simply “be”….

We went just for the dinner/dancing (with a live combo). They do this at least two nights each month during the summer. We did take a tour of open rooms (because we arrived early). The Inn is majestic inside and out. It is sparkling clean and tastefully decorated and manicured. The food, service and entertainment were outstanding, with a flair for the "touch of home - - - in the kitchen". Magnificent evening and superb value.

Loved It! Beautiful Place! We will be back but next time we'll bring the kids with us. LOVE THE FACT THAT THIS INN WELCOMES CHILDREN! The owners are very nice and the staff are very friendly. Suite C was amazing! Excellent! My Husband and I enjoyed our night. THANK YOU!

As a local, I recently took a tour of the facilities at Peralynna (with the intent of booking a special weekend for my wife's birthday), and was completely blown away! The owners were there and couldn't have been kinder, more helpful or more charming. They are very proud of Peralynna and with good reason. The structure, architecture, decorating reminded me of the great luury hotels and B&Bs of Europe. Everything was emaculate and they even invited me to dinner over the weekend, their treat! So without telling her what I planned, I took my wife to dinner on a weekend. We found the food fresh/seasonal, homecooked and very tasty and interesting, with a nice selection of wine. Again, the decor was completely charming. They also had entertainment that night and the "house-band" was fantastic, they really put the finishing touches on a perfect evening. I plan to book a suite shortly for my wife's birthday and have alerted out-of-town friends and family about this gem in the Maryland countryside.

My wife and I stayed at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna Manor recently and the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. Upon arriving we were given a very nice tour by the receptionist. After settling in to our room we decided to explore house and grounds. Looking around the annex section and the main building my wife and I noticed the walls needed to be repainted due to discoloration and age of the paint. Continuing around , we noticed that general overcrowding of items and furniture in the facility, especially down in the basement. In the back, we noticed 5-6 storage shed that were just out in the open. These should have been placed behind a "hidden" wall to prevent them from being seen by the general guests. While we were in the extra annex, we noticed much of the same, as in the main building, the general finishing of the construction was shoddy and materials were basic grade not of superior quality. The construction quality was lacking attention to details such as placing the hardwood floor under the door jams, not 1/2 to 3/4 inches out from the side of the walls and other finishing details too numerous to list. In the morning, the staff met us with friendly faces, and was extremely kind. My wife ordered an omelet and was cooked very well. I ordered blueberry pancakes and sausage with home fries. The blueberry pancakes were cooked well, but were cool on arrival, the sausage was completely raw, still cold on the inside and inedible. Other details were noticed during breakfast. While my wife and I had a wonderful time by the great staff, the quality of the facility we felt was not worth the price we paid for the evening. My wife summed it up to me as “Big dreams and not enough money to do it right”.

The building is striking, the grounds are attractive, the rolling Maryland countryside is lovely, and nearby Centennial Park provides a peaceful, forested walk around a beautiful lake with rentable canoes. Owners Cynthia and David have designed an elegant yet thoroughly homey inn where this guest felt immediately relaxed, comfortable, and well, at home (David’s maxim: if the door’s unlocked, open it; and if you see food, eat it). The 20 or so rooms are uniquely and tastefully decorated and range from a large, inexpensive basement room to suites with huge bathrooms, fireplaces, spas, decks, and private entrances. I spent most nights in the basement room - - like most, it included a Tempur-Pedic mattress and kitchen area with fridge and microwave. It was pleasantly adjacent to the large game room with pool table, 70-inch TV plus 150 DVDs, full stove and fridge (and cooking privileges, if I wished), and washer/dryer. Breakfasts are individually and deliciously prepared by Connie, who will cook any eggs, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, or bacon/sausage combo you can think of. There is hot and cold cereal, fresh fruit, muffins and bagels, and coffees and teas with which to stuff yourself or your backpack for lunch. All this is served in a sunny, two-story, expansive great room with skylights, windows, and 50’s rock and roll in the background. There is another dark wooded, overstuffed-couched sitting room for the more private morning or evening rendezvous as well as a charming Japanese tea room. Did I mention the free dinner and dance nights that occur one weekend a month? Or the friendly, helpful staff (that’s you, Harry)? Or the abundant and eclectic pieces of art and statuary? Or the daily afternoon/evening buffet of wine, cheese, veggies, and munchies? These wonderful people and their inn provided an experience I will never forget and for which I will always be grateful.

My wife and I had tickets to a local dinner theatre and upon check in we where greeted by the owners who gave us directions to our show then had one of thier staff show us to our room. Wow what a beautiful place we almost didn't go to the show as the room was just so over the top.

For a first experience at a Bed and Breakfast, it was WONDERFUL!!! The atmosphere was homey and comfortable. The hosts were warm and welcoming. The Manor itself is very elegant, spacious, with decor fit for a king. The setting inspires poetry.

My husband surprised me with one night in suite c, which was the most beautiful room at the inn. The owners were incredibly friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The band that played during dinner was fun and entertaining. We will defintely go back!

We had the most romantic stay! The staff is very friendly and attentive. They genuinely want your stay to be fantastic. Our suite was very clean, cozy and looked exactly how it is pictured online. This stay was what we were looking for in our 2 day getaway!! I have told everyone I know about how great the Inn was and am looking forward to the next time we can getaway!!!!

The inn keeper was knowledgable of the area. The rooms were exceptional with style and accessories. The food was wonderful and vast selection to chose from. Have informed family that I would go back in a heartbeat. They made you feel like family.

The room was beautiful, the double jacuzzi was amazing, love the fireplaces!! Having snacks (and wine!!) available in the dining room/kitchen area is nice bonus.

Not only did our second visit prove to be a relaxing getaway, but my wife and I was pleased to discover that our Valentine's Weekend room rate also included a complimentary dinner party each evening with live music, dancing and fantastic food. This is my favorite B&B and worth driving the two and half hours that it takes to get there from north of Philadelphia.

As a woman traveling alone, a homey place with attentive staff is much appreciated. I have enjoyed several of the rooms here now and each is unique, comfortable and clean. The breakfast is always delicious and the common area easy to use. I won't stay anywhere else when visiting the area.

This was our very first experience with a bed and breakfast. I will tell you that our experience was absolutely wonderful. We stayed for a weekend in their luxury honeymoon suite, and it was absolutely perfect. My husband loved the bed and jacuzzi.The breakfast was made to perfection. My husband and I didn't want the weekend to end. Thank you for bringing that spice back for us!

The staff is friendly and really care about your experience and stay there. I was beyond impressed with the quality and variety of good and beverages only to add that breakfast was outstanding and still had my own space to have a quiet meal. The inn was extremely clean and well kept and every detail is taken care of so that for something as important and special like my anniversary I did not have to worry at all. My recommendation is high for anyone else that would consider a "staycation" or just a romantic evening.

The staff couldn't have been more warm and helpful. Our room was excellent. Breakfast is cooked to order and was superb. (Remember that there's no evening meal at the inn but there are many restaurants in the area.) The Inn - as its picture might suggest - is filled with nooks and crannies. We were so sorry that we didn't have more time to explore!

Great in keepers, very pretty on arrival. I was disappointed no hangers in room and the room above us left the hot tub going all night which created a terrible humming noise all night. Our room was a little over priced for the value.

Upon arrivals, we were told we had been upgraded. A beautiful home with big, cozy rooms!! Snacks, wine and good company. The man in charge, Harry, was so accommodating, took wonderful care of us. The breakfasts are made to order and are just really tasty. The entire weekend was special and we will definitely go back soon!!

The property was amazing. I've been several B&B but none of them compares to Columbia Inn at Peralynna Manor. The continental breakfast far exceeds any breakfast I've experienced at hotels. If you are looking for a getaway check out Peralynna Manor.

We were warmly welcomed by Kim, who showed us to our massive room, Suite T. The room was very clean and warm. There were only a couple of items that needed to be addressed in the room. The outlet behind one of the beds was coming out of the wall, and we could have used more soap, shampoo and conditioner on our second day. The rest of the house was amazing--with all its nooks and crannies. It was truly charming. David and Cynthia Lynn were the perfect hosts. They took time to speak to all of the guests, and made them feel right at home. Breakfast was terrific. A great choice of both hot and cold foods. The waffles, omelets, and pancakes were prepared to order, and were delicious. The evening snacks and wine bar were an unexpected treat. It was great to be able to unwind after a long car ride down. The daily rate for our room was a great buy, and we were extremely pleased with our choice. I already have recommended this Inn to family and friends. Hopefully, I will be able to return one day. It was so nice to go "home" at the end of a long day. The house and all the rooms were so beautifully decorated and welcoming. And David is fantastic. Getting my breakfast made to order was a treat. I will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our stay, which unfortunately was only one night. Also had to leave on the early side to get to work. Next time we will stay multiple nights.

The staff is very friendly and courteous. The location is quaint and cozy, everything a bed and breakfast should be. My only advice would be to avoid getting the basement room under the kitchen, because it is very loud very early in the morning as the staff prepares breakfast (not pots and pans loud, but creaky wooden floors loud). I cannot complain, because the staff did warn me about this at check-in and gave me the option of another room, so I knew what I was getting into. The breakfast is cooked-to-order and top-notch!

My Husband & I stayed for our honeymoon and enjoyed the made to order homemade breakfasts every morning! Such a nice homey touch. The staff was always friendly with guests and each other. We had a wonderful time & there are so many things to do & places to each all within 10-30mins of the place. We are planning on returning and will recommend this to all of our friends & family. ~Raving Fans!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the C Suite, and it was magnificent. We had a wonderful time at the Inn, and we both can't get over how comfortable the bed was. The staff was friendly, and was on hand to help in any way possible. We plan to stay again, but try another magnificent suite. We're thinking about maybe coming back around Christmas time, as we are sure it will be beautifully decorated.

The Columbia Inn at Peralynna Manor is truly a gem! We had a amazing experience and we will be staying here again.

We were looking for an upscale spot to spend a quiet couple of days chilling after visiting our kids and staying at the Laurel Holiday Inn. I searched the internet and the Inn at Peralynna was very impressive. But I feel like I got fooled by great photography. It was a nice place, very friendly and helpful staff, nice service, pretty countryside, but not at all upscale. I was used to B&B's developed from historic properties and this was not. The rooms were very large but very modestly finished out with contractor grade materials in poor condition. The tub was dangerous with it's steps and the railing came off in our hands. Aluminum, things not quite square, drywall, very low end doors, etc. The furnishings were antique mall kitsch. Very disappointing after the photographs. There really is a herd of sheep that grazes across the street from the property but the street is extremely busy all the time. Don't get me wrong, we can't say enough nice things about the staff including the manager who drove to the airport to bring me my briefcase that got left in the lobby when she gave me a satisfaction survey to complete. We loved (especially me) the Iron Bridge Winery - lunch was outstanding and the entire flight of wines we tried were exceptional. Also try the Sappphire Indian restaurant in Laurel - wonderful food. But don't be fooled by the photography and exceptional advertising for the Peralynna Manor - it is what it is - not what it's pictured.

We stayed at The Columbia Inn at Peralynna as part of our honeymoon and it was more than we could have ever expected it to be. We cannot express in words how the staff made us feel like part of the Peralynna family. The interior was tastefully decorated, the food was superb and our room (as well as all the public areas) had a relaxing quality that made it feel like home. We will definately plan on staying there in the near future.

My sister and I went for a moms weekend ,As soon as you walk in the staff was so friendly and warm. Cory at the front desk was great ! Harry was so great anything we needed he was there .THE owner cynthia was absolutely delightful.We cannot wait to go back and visit everyone again.It exceeded our expectations.

Overall a comfortable stay and beats staying in a cheaper/low service hotel chain.

Cozy and charming, this B&B was the perfect little retreat for us. We could have explored the area, but we hurried back every night to cozy up with the complimentary wine, cheese, cookies and cake, not to mention playing pool. We can't wait to go back when the weather is cooler, to take full advantage of its warm, welcoming atmosphere.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 2 yr wedding anniversary. We stayed only 1 night and really wished we could have stayed at least a week. The O suite was beautiful, spacious, romantic, and private. THE BED WAS SOOO COMFORTABLE!!! The most romantic room we have ever stayed in and exceeded our expectations for a bed and breakfast as this was our first time staying at one. The hot tub was wonderful, and the privacy of that suite was amazing. The tv in the jacuzzi/bathroom was a great addition and didn't interfere w/ our romantic evening a bit. The staff was so wonderful and accomodating as they laid out complimentary rose petals to help set the mood for anniversary and the breakfast was delicious. The complimentary wine was also a wonderful bonus! There was a journal in the room of past guest reviews and at first it was a little weird to read all the stories of all the couples who shared such intimate moments in the bed/room we were in but some of them were really entertaining and I wish we had time to write a review but the time went by so fast. I guess it's true that times flys when you're having fun. We will definitely visit again and longer than 1 night. We take tremendous pride in providing an excellent experience for our guests and want the opportunity to thank you for staying with us and to make it up to you, any time we fall short of that mark for any reason. The bad news was that we have experienced over 20 inches of rain in less than 2 weeks- The good news is that Peralynna has proven to be seaworthy, even though she got a bit damp in the process! She never lost power though, throughout the earthquake, 2 hurricanes and one tropical storm. Sump pumps were running overtime as were all 18 zones of air conditioning. Some of the ac’s froze up due to the heavy humidity, but they have been fully serviced and are back in action. Grass cutting was delayed by necessity due to the severity of the storms and extremely wet grounds. The grounds finally dried out enough for our crew to cut it today. Although the storm threw a lot of leaf debris at our building, the sun peeked out today for the first time in weeks and our power washers came out to play! We appreciate our loyal guests who braved the elements to get to us and our new guests that toughed it out with us and we hope to see you back soon:)

The staff was wonderfulcand I enjoyed my visit, however the upkeep and cleanliness are lacking a bit. The room 'T' had a funky smell when we arrived, kinda like a wet dog. After running a fan and dehumidifier in the room for a few hour the smell went away and did not come back. The upkeep of the property was lacking, they would be well to have a full time handyman/fixer upper for at least a while. Thats it, I cannot pick on them for anything else. The staff and owners were extrmely nice, but not the annoying nice. The place is huge and had a bunch of comfy common areas.

We were celebrating our 9th anniversary and it was our very first time trying a B & B also. Even though Hurricane Irene coincided, everything turned out great! The innkeepers and all the staff were fabulous; the meals were awesome; the accomadations were better than expected. We know which suite to book next time also!!

Stayed one night to attend a triathlon. Great room and bathroom, very nice innkeepers. Quiet location.

My husband and I spent the night here enroute to our return to Texas from visiting my parents on the Eastern Shore. We can't say enough about this B&B, the staff were warm and hospitable, along with being engaging. The room we stayed in was very nice and excellent value for what you receive and its locations. It's well worth the stopover coming out of BWI, going through Baltimore or returning to your home designation. Not to mention the area has a superabundance of parks and we absolutely loved the old world charm and architecture of downtown Ellicot City which was only minutes from the B&B.

My Husband and I stayed 1 night July 22 for our anniversary in the A suite. We really enjoyed our stay there, the rooms were exactly what we expected and more. Your staff were very friendly. They gave us a nice tour around and we were able to look at the other rooms as well. Suite C will be our next visit, Suite O was nice as well. The breakfast was AWESOME, the cook did excellent job. I also like to Thank one of your workers Cori. He was extremely helpful from the time I called to make reservation up to the time we arrived. He made every effort to keep us Happy. We had an incident with water leakage in our room. I must say we are really impressed on the Customer Service we received from the Owners, they corrected the issue without a doubt. It’s truly hard to find good decent people and great customer services these days. The Owners were truly genuine & nice people, they had no problem talking to us and sharing how they got started. But you guys were all wonderful. Our stay at Peralynna was wonderful!! The atmosphere was very warming, cozy and feel like home away from home. This was our first experience at B&B but it will not be our last. We will definitely be back again and will recommend this place to Friends & Family.

We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay and was able to relax-that is our main goal! We do not have an on-site spa but prefer to have massages in your romantic room. We do need a couple days notice for spa treatments but as for the breakfast-no pre-ordering necessary. Our chef is in the kitchen every morning and makes anything from omelettes, french toast, pancakes, bacon, turkey bacon, etc. We hope to see you again soon. David Lynn

Our only issue was that the building our room was in was locked with a deadbolt to which we did not have the key. Once the manager unlocked the door, our stay was wonderful.

We stayed one night - it is a beautiful place - lots of nice landscaping, service was excellent - way beyond expectations- and the room was lovely. Breakfast was made to order with a lot of extras. The room was small, but with a large bathroom and an entrance way with a microwave and a refrigerator.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here for our first anniversary. The concierge was very nice and pretty helpful. We stayed in the S suite which was fantastic and the shower was amazing! The good thing about breakfast was my husband and I got there an hour after they closed it down (we misunderstood the times) and the chef was still willing to cook us stuff. I thought the negative thing about breakfast was that it was basically a buffet with things you could order if you wanted. The breakfast was good I thought, just not one of those outstanding sit down breakfasts I've experienced at other places. That was the only semi-complaint I could have, I thuoght everything else was nice. As far as the location, it is surrounded by houses, but there is a lot of shrubbery and fencing and I don't know who that would bother really, certainly not us. The back deck is huge and was fabulous to sit out on and have a glass of wine or two and breakfast. We would return again...probably to the same room!

We were in Baltimore for an all weekend sporting event. The Inn at Peralynna is located close enough for an easy commute back and forth. The breakfast was very good and the glass of wine on arrival and carrot cake the next evening were definitely added bonuses. The innkeepers were very gracious and accommodating. Would love to stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at this B&B 6-27-11 for one night. It exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There were hors d'oeuvres and wine in the evening. The room was clean and comfortable (I loved the mattress). I enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and shower in room "Y". In the evening we walked the grounds (lovely) and played pool. The breakfast was wonderful and season to perfection. The chef was friendly and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. I was surprised--- there were quite a few people staying during the time we were there, but it was not crowed. It was very private and the guest were friendly. I definitely would visit again!

My fiancée and I recently stayed here for my birthday (May 12 2011). The stay was so great. We had the honeymoon suite (O suite) all the way at the top floor. It was so relaxing. The jacuzzi tub for 2, the fireplace and tv in front of the tub. We were in heaven. It was so hard leaving this place and going back to our regular life. The complimentary breakfast was sooooo good. The best complimentary breakfast I've ever had. The Inn at Peralynna made it one of the best birthdays I've ever had. We have definitely made plans to return.

The staff and service was very good. The room was below the kitchen so with wood floors you could hear some creaks in the morning when staff are moving around making breakfast which was made known to us in advance and we were offered alternative rooms. However, we did not mind because we were there only to sleep and we had ear plugs. They prepare hot made to order breakfasts and treat you like you are a guest in their home. Its quiet and tranquil surrounded by green. Its beautiful and highly recommended.

We got married on a friday in May and we went to The Inn at Peralynna, it was a wonderful place and all the staff were as friendly as can be, even when they cleaned our room while we were not there they did not go through our things, like others hotels we have stayed in, in the past!! We are going to return there on our anniversary and every anniversary after the first. I love this B&B. :)

Loved the Peralynna!!! When we first arrived and checked into our room, I was concerned about the cobwebs that were all over our suite. Naturally is was from lack of use but figured that since they knew someone was coming to stay that they would pay attention to that detail. Talked to the front desk clerk and he cleaned it right away. Once that was done everything else was perfect! The place was beautiful and has a true home away from home. Made to order Breakfast was nice the first morning, but the Mother's Day Morning Breakfast was buffet style which was not really made to order. :( I think that they should make their breakfast hours later...if you come to relax, the last thing you want to have to do is rush to make sure you get some breakfast. All in all..it was for my Husbands Birthday, and he loved it from beginning to end. Think I was more critical because I paid for it. :) I will be planning to go back for a Tea or some sort of special event there.

What a gem...close to the Fairgrounds -- beautiful location and fantastic breakfast and hospitality -- we'll definitely be back.

The building and the rooms are very nice. The breakfast in the morning is wonderful. However, the girl at the front desk wasn't very friendly. In addition, we did not know when we reserved that there was an event happening there that night, and we were not able to use any of the ground-floor common areas. Hospitality, which is a couple trays of cheese/crackers/fruit, and was moved upstairs that night. Unimpressive. Our room was supposed to have slippers, which it did not, and a phone, which it did not. The balcony from the room was unusable unless we wanted to clean off the tables and chairs ourselves - they were filthy. In the end, we loved the room & the food, and would probably return.

My wife and I stayed here for a special get away.. the sheep in the fields across the street were a plus. Also very close to a great mall - Columbia Mall. The neighborhoods around the inn are great to drive through - we drove during blossom time. Centrally located so ez to drive to DC or Baltimore. Very able and gracious hosts and staff. Nice snacks around 4pm including great soup and breakfast to order in the morning.. free pop, cake.. what else could be needed??? 5 stars!

Our R junior suite was smaller than some others we saw, but still more than adequate with a microwave, refrigerator and an awesome jacuzzi tub/shower combo with multiple shower heads. As others have noted, the place needs to be refreshed with interior painting and new carpet. The best thing is free, unlimited access to drinks, including wine, and snacks and a filling breakfast. Good hosts make sure no one goes away hungry!

This was my first bed and breafast stay experience. I wanted to do something diffrent from the standard stay at the major hotels chains. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very inviting and friendly. The room decor truly set the tone for a relaxing home away from home feeling. Typically, I have difficulty falling off the sleep, but this was not the case during my stay that The Inn at Peralynna. The meals were fabulaous and is a premuim compared to the traditonal "contential breakfast." I have shared my experience with my real esate agent in the area as well as my friends and family in North Carolina. I will be returning again in the near future. The rewards program that are heavily marketed to encourage return visits is no competition for the value, service and experince of staying at The Inn at Peralynna!! S. Johnson Charlotte NC.

This was mu fourth visit to the Inn at Peralynna and with each visit I am more and more impressed with the service and staff. The executive suites are well appointed, the private baths have plush robes, towels, and delicious smelling toiletries. I have stayed in three different types of rooms, all of which have their own design and decor. I read the review below about the P and B-2 rooms which I learned are reserved for long-term stays and only by request as the rooms have a substantial discount compared to the executive suites. I would read all the rave reviews about the inn and see what others have to say! The Inn at Peralynna is spectacular for corporate travelers and for those looking for a great place to stay in Columbia, MD.

The staff was really fantastic, helping us with every request we had. We plan to stay again for a weekend, even though we're locals. I've been in B&Bs that were more like hostels, and this was far closer to a hotel experience in terms of the quality of the rooms. The beds are Tempurpedics, and they just aren't my favorite. However, that's just a preference, not a complaint. I enjoyed having my breakfast cooked to order in front of me.

Recently stayed for a week long business trip. Wonderful alternative to a hotel. Clean, friendly, and welcoming. I will return.

I went to the Peralynna to celebrate my 50th Birthday and I could not believe the special attention the owners placed on my special day. I have never stayed at a place and didn't want to leave like I did at the Peralynna. It is worth visiting over and over again. I don't think I will stay anywhere else when I come to Maryland but the Peralynna. The whole ambience exceeded my expectations and you will not find friendlier people. The atmosphere makes even the guest friendly to each other. I look forward to my next visit this year. Jacqueline

I went to the Inn and Peralynna as a late Valentine's day with my boyfriend. We were greeted by the staff and promptly given a tour of the manor. Beautiful. We stayed in the "S" suite and the only complaint I have is that the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom is just the size of a bathtub. Also, the manor is located just a few miles from a few restaurants (we went to Hickory Ridge Grille, Mmmm) and a couple of other stores. I will definitely be going back to the Inn at Peralynna.

we went for a quiet little getway. the room was beautiful ( a gorgeous peacock motif) the fireplaces cozy (even if they were electric) and the amount of space was amazing. the 2 person jacuzzi could use some seats or texture to the bottom to keep you from sliding around so much, but all else was wonderful. everyone was very nice and helpful, and breakfast was wonderful. we have booked a regular suite for a conference in baltimore later this year. would definitely reccommend this b&b to anyone wanting a fantistic room at a great price, with wonderful people around to help with any questions.

We stayed here for our wedding night and the room was just perfect. We had a huge tub in our bedroom and gorgeous furnishings. It made the night extra special.

There was some confusion when we arrived, and the room we ended up with was not the one displayed on the website. HOWEVER it was lovely and cozy, the bed very comfortable, snacks were great, the whole place delightful and the breakfasts the best we've had anywhere.

This was my first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast. I always talked about doing it, but some how never got around to it. What a great experience from the time we arrived until we left. I dont no if all bed and breakfast are this nice, but if they are i would never want to stay in a hotel again. I would and have recommended The Inn at Peralynna to my freinds. The Inn at Peralynna's website and the majority of it's reviews lead one to have quite high expectations. It should be noted that BedandBreakfast.com's 3-'star' rating is defined as "met my expectations". I expected 3-star meant 'average'. It does not. ;o) We found the house beautifully lit, warm and inviting. On the way to our room, it was pointed out where we could find coffee, soda at any time, and explained when and where breakfast would be served. I asked if there was any appropriate location for a smoker to go, and she directed me to the private balcony off our room. We had to rush our stop for evening snacks of crackers/cheese/soup, etc, but another patron told me the soup was wonderful. The tempurpedic bed and fine linens were wonderful. In the morning, I went down to grab a cup of coffee. I typically drink french press or espresso at home and found myself wishing the coffee were stronger and hotter. As I was considering this, the chef saw me and asked if I wanted him to make me anything. Later, my husband and I took him up on his offer and were quickly served a lovely breakfast. The chef checked back on us and really made us feel welcome -- he was so nice and friendly and I felt like the small interaction and good meal really helped us face the rest of the what we knew would be a sad day (grandfather's funeral). Now that I'm back at home, I find myself daydreaming about going back. Yes, if you looked closely you could tell there was a residential development just behind the Inn (where the website would make you think you were acres and acres from civilization). And in sunlight, it did seem like there were too many stark white walls, and some of the decor seemed oddly eclectic. But the important parts of our stay were just perfect, and I'm looking for an excuse to go back, soon.

I booked The Inn at Peralynna for a Christmas visit with our daughter in D.C., and I'm so glad that I did! It was truly amazing. On Christmas morning, my entire family and I were sitting in a gorgeous dining room eating our made-to-order breakfast in front of a fire place while looking out of three-story windows at the falling snow. It was magical! I was afraid that I would miss being at home for Christmas, but the Inn was so beautifully decorated, and the staff was so friendly, it felt like home.

My husband and I used this getaway for a New Years Eve overnight. The proprieters went ABOVE and BEYOND in everyway to make us feel welcome, comfortable and explained the history of the place in a very engaging way. Very fascinating and the decor was also awesome! We had stimulating conversation and wonderful food. We got so much extra value for the money.

The staff was very friendly, the room was comfortable, the house had all the amenities I wanted and more, and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend the Inn at Peralynna to others.

The Tempur-pedic mattresses make for a very restful evening. Room size is great to get settled in for a week (or more!!). The owners and staff are very friendly. They make one feel right at home -- so much so that one is free to eat/drink any (and every) available food/beverage. And if you don't finish that book on the shelf, take it with you!!

It was our first time staying at a bed & breakfast and diid not know what to expect. Our room was nice & cozy with it's fireplace, shared balcony & jacuzzi; the food was delicious and staff was friendly. We can't wait to go back in the spring when the flowers bloom.Very romantic, very charming.

A little on the expensive side, but you get your money's worth. I took my wife there for an in-week getaway and we had a very relaxing stay. The rooms are very very nice and the staff is extremely helpful and nice. I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to any one passing through the area!

My husband and I stayed here for our one-year wedding anniversary a few weekends ago. We'd researched a number of B&Bs in the area, but once I looked at Peralynna's website, I knew that's where I wanted to stay. The inn itself is pretty and spacious; there are so many rooms and staircases, it's easy to get lost! The room we stayed in - Suite D - is very nice, and bigger than it looks in the pictures on the site. Two minor drawbacks - although both are advertised on the website, neither the complimentary slippers (apparently they ran out) nor the DVD player were in the room. My husband minded more than I did, though! We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary wine in the kitchen area after dinner; there's quite a selection! We met and talked with David - he's very pleasant, and it's obvious he's proud of his establishment. We also spent some time talking with Kim (one of the staff) - she's great! And the chef, Gary, is awesome - he'll make just about anything you want for breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again!

My wife and I were about to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 28,2010 and we had discused a few different ways and places to celebrate this Special occasion . I have to take you back a bit so you can see JUST how Special this Anniversary really was to US . As the year continued we talked about how we might celebrate and where we might go . I retired from my Job after 38 yrs. from the Post Office and things weren't going so well with her job being so short handed ,she unable to have the time off . So it really looked as though we weren't go to be able go anywhere for this Special 15th Anniversary. So I decided on my own to keep things kinda close and simple . I had heard of " The Inn at Peralynna " and seen Post card pictures and also did some checking on the internet and decided to make reservations for the 28th and 29th ( Thursday & Friday ) at the Peralynna and told them also it was for our 15th Wedding Anniversary . My Wife had NO IDEA I had made these plans, she did know we were going to dinner at one of our favorite Resturants , so after dinner as we were driving home , my wife quickly realized we were heading in a different direction and said " Where are we going , I'm full and I am tired and I want to go home " . I reasured her that we were going HOME for the evening , ( we just weren't going to OUR HOME ) to just relax and we would be there very shortly. When we pulled into the parking lot of the Peralynna she thought we were going to get massages together ,but as we entered the desk area at the front door and she saw that we were registered to stay , boy was she ever SURPRIZED , and when she also the room we were staying in she couldn't stop crying . She quickly HUGGED me and we both were in tears . Our bed was covered with Rose Peddles , the view was fantastic ,we had some Sparkling Bubbly, our two nights were Absolutely Wonderfull . The inn is awesome! We had a great stay. The amenities were great and everything was above my expectations. We have already discussed a return trip to this hidden gem.

We came here for a weekend getaway and were completely impressed with everything from the suite we stayed in, to the excellent food, to the kind and welcoming hosts! We will absolutely be back for another visit!

The inn was wonderful. Breakfast was great! Jacuzzi was wonderful. The whole stay was a 10. Owners took interest in guests!

We stayed in a luxurious suite at The Inn at Peralynna. We were very impressed with all of the amenities in our room and at the Bed and Breakfast in general. The food was average though and we had very little contact with the staff and owners. We would definitely recommend this place and, in comparison to other Bed and Breakfasts, all of the room prices seemed to be reasonable.

I treated my friend for his birthday with a very special day at the inn and we had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and peaceful. We were greeted by Gary who carried our bags to the room and fixed us a very tasty breakfast. I will be having another stay, hopefully very, very soon. Would recommend to anyone.

Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Made to order breakfast - yummy. Each suite very roomy and quiet, even with the music on in the great room and people talking once in our room with the door closed, you couldn't hear a sound.

Great site. Enjoyed walking around the grounds. The service and hospitality are top notch. We will come back.

I don't stay at bed and breakfasts. Well, not usually. Now, in the last two months, I have had two stays at the Inn at Peralynna in two months. Here on business, there is some disappointment in leaving after a week and knowing that the next hotel will be the "cookie cutter", impersonal chain hotel. Peralynna is comfortable, personal, and beautiful. It stands in a class of its own, and I am glad I experienced it.

Relaxing visit, excellent night's sleep, delicious breakfast. Friendly, welcoming employers.

My husband and I wanted to get away for the weekend so we chose this place at the very last minute. That was the best quick decision that we have ever made because this place was amazing!! The house was clean and beautifully furnished, the rooms were very clean and cozy, and the breakfast (which was cooked to order by the owner) was delicious. The house had so many things to do in it that we didnt even have to leave to be entertained. They really made us feel at home and we cant wait to return!! Kudos for an outstanding place!!!!

Staying at the Inn was a joy. Quick, easy check-in, comfortable rooms with pleasant service. My wife and I really appreciated the fragrance-free policy, as we both suffer from sensitivity to such things. We also appreciated the snacks that were placed in all the common rooms. A nice, quiet anniversary getaway. We will be back!

This is a present from my sister. It was a surprise. We had a great time. Cynthia is a great cook. Definitely something we will recommend.

My husband and I spent our 42nd anniversary in Suite C. It was wonderful......so roomy and comfortable with all the amenities. Our private jacuzzi was an extra lovely touch. After a day exploring, it was so nice to be welcomed back in the late afternoon/early evening with a glass of wine and an array of tasty appetizers. Cynthia and Dave are wonderfully congenial and conversation with them was fun and relaxing. The entire staff could not do enough for us. Truly a heavenly experience!!

Beautiful rooms were well kept. Many activities only a few miles away. Very accomodating staff! And a top notch breakfast! I look forward to coming back whenever I need a mini vacation.

My husband and I spent five wonderful days at the Inn at Peralynna. Our suite was very comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly and courteous. I especially love the fireplace, it adds "coziness" to the suite and the temperature was perfect. We will be back!

My family and I stayed at the Peralynna Manor during a difficult time for our family, for the funeral of our young uncle. The inn was perfect for creating a family environment that made us feel at home. The owners are so compassionate, caring and accomodating. The inn is so beautiful and decorated wonderfully. The extras and amenities were amazing. This inn is the absolute best place for any function. They are friendly and caring.

The inn is elegant and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and the innkeeps are warm and gracious. This was a great find for me as I will be returning to Columbia regularly.

I couldn't believe my luck when I found the Inn on an Internet search. I was resigned to having to stay at one of those non-descript chain hotels and instead I found myself in a lovely home with great vistas, warm people and delicious treats.

We have stayed here twice and each time was a wonderful experience. The staff is warm and friendly and the rooms are well-decorated and clean. The fireplaces throughout the Inn are a very nice touch. I recommend this Inn to couples of all ages.

Our church group spent an overnight at the Inn and found it to be elegant, yet comfortable and welcoming for all, from the youth group to our senior citizens. Cynthia and David, the innkeepers and their whole staff were exceptionally friendly, flexible and accommodating for a group of our size. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, freshly cooked and presented in a beautiful manner. From making dinner reservations at a local restaurant for us to taking group photos for us outside their lovely inn, they could not have been more accommodating. The youth group and chaperones who slept in several suites were so impressed with the fabulous game room, complete with big screen TV and pool table. All the rooms were impressive and distinctive and there are lots of sitting areas for relaxing. We have already booked our rooms for next year!

No wonder why there aren't any pictures on the website for the room we reserved! It should have tipped us off. We wanted to stay here for an extended amount of time- about 2 months with the possibility of up to 4 months (we were in the middle of a move). We called 2 months in advance. To save the room for a month, we had to pay up-front for the entire month... 2 months in advance! So, we had to put it on our personal credit card, because it was too early to put on my hubby's work card. We got there, and the room was dirty- the carpets (I didn't want to walk bare-foot), the couch (I hated to do anything but sit down). There was mold in the shower... which had big holes where buttons were supposed to be. The room was a mess... everything was mis-matched and very old. It was like the dump room for the place. There was a door to the outside from the room with the twin beds- I looked at the carpet, and it looked spotted black... like bad mold. The walls had scrapes and holes above the one twin bed. When my hubby first got to the room, there was mold in the refrigerator. We told them we had 3 young children- would it fit all of us. "Certainly!" But, there were only 2 twin beds, and we had to make our own bed for our 3 year old in the big closet. After a couple weeks, they put up an air mattress there, but it would be so deflated by the morning, I was worried that my child was going to suffocate. Now, back to the money: So, when we got there, my hubby asked them to charge his work card, and refund the money to our personal card. It took a week for them to charge his work card, and another 3 weeks to refund the money to our personal card... we're talking Thousands of Dollars! It was completely unprofessional! Needless to say we cut our visit there to just that one month, and moved to a different hotel!
