Cambridge House B&B

I had the pleasure of staying at the wonderful Cambridge House B&B when I visited Cambridge for the first time in mid-November. The friendly innkeepers, Marianne and Jim, answered all my questions about the area and recommended a great place for dinner within walking distance. Their B&B is very clean, very comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious! I highly recommend!

My ratings are justly deserved. It was a very comfortable place to stay and I was made very welcome. I recommend without reservation.

Cambridge House B&B was everything we look for in a B&B experience. The innkeepers are warm and friendly, the food was excellent and the accomodations were lovely. We were within walking distance of the marina, shops, art galleries, museums and fine dining. We are adding Cambridge House to our favorites list and are planning a return trip in the new year.

the house overall and the room i stayed in were absolutely lovely, very well clean & well kept, thoughtful amenities above & beyond the call ~ Plus the owners Jim & Marianne (and their sweet dog Max and friendly cat) couldn't have been more friendly, gracious, helpful and interesting to talk to -- an unqualified pleasure!

Jim and his wife were super sweet. They made us a wonderful breakfast and after a 43 mile bike ride we came back to our room in which it was picked up nicely and the bed was made!!! We obviously weren't expecting that.. Almost felt like being home again with mom and dad! They made the stay very pleasant and we totally enjoyed max's company!!

The hotel is very lovely and impressive. The homemade breakfast is delicious. It is a cultural environment and we saw collections from different countries in South America. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and plan to come back some time in the future.

Spent a weekend at the Cambridge House and really enjoyed our stay. Jim and Marianne are wonderful people and made us extremely comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed during our entire stay. I would definitely go back and stay again! Thanks for a great weekend.

The Cambridge House is located in a very nice, historic area of the small town of Cambridge, MD. A short walk to the water was pleasurable. Walking to dinner a plus. The B&B is beautiful and includes a friendly dog and cat.

The owners are wonderful people who were very accomodating to all our needs. When I lost a button on an outfit they provided needle and thread so I could sew it back on! The rooms were clean and spacious and breakfast was excellent. Very nice B& B to stay for any vacation!

Despite the poor weather (lots and lots of rain), we had a lovely weekend at the Cambridge house B&B. The property itself is fantastic with lots of vintage touches (including the original tub in our bathroom). The owners were super accomidating and even left breakfast out at 5 a.m. for those of us who had an early morning race start. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

I just went up for a weekend and stayed in the Dorchester room. Jim and Marianne are very hospitable and extremely accommodating. Not only did we arrive late, we woke up late for breakfast one morning and they made us an excellent breakfast. We will definitely be returning next year.

Our wonderful weekend at the Cambridge House made us a fan of B & B's. Great location close to the marina, restaurants and historic downtown. Breakfast exceeded our expectations too!

We stayed at Cambridge House B&B this past week'd and absolutely loved the charm of the place. Jim is a wonderful host and made every possible attempt to make us comfortable. The property is well maintained and location is very idyllic. Its a short walk to the Long Wharf Marina and to downtown. The town has a community feeling to it. If you are looking for a weekend to relax and slow down from crazy city life, this is just town and place for you.

We were so pleased with our stay at Cambridge House. Although under new ownership, so they are still working out the kinks, this is the best location in Cambridge. Walk anywhere in town! The rooms were fresh and clean and very spacious. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The inn has obviously been well cared for. We will definitely stay again.

A home filled with warmth and style. Jim and Marianne were great hosts! I wish we could have a bed and breakfast like this one in every city that we travel to for the races!

We enjoyed our weekend at the Cambridge House. The room was lovely. The location, close to the water and a water-front restaurant was just what we wanted. The hosts provided information on the area as well as an elegant breakfast and a welcoming atmosphere. I will be recommending to friends.

Cambridge House has new owners who have a lovely touch, are considerate and friendly, and provide a comfortable and welcoming environment. House is half a block from the waterfront and a 5 minute walk to downtown Cambridge. Also only a 15 minute drive to Blackwater Wildlife refuge. We'll definitely return.

Our stay at Cambridge House B&B was perfect for our needs - a one night stopover en route to Virginia's Eastern Shore. The home is lovingly attended by the new owners who are very friendly and enthusiastic about their new venture. We wish them success!

The owners were very attentive but were not pushy. They did a great job making everyone feel welcome. This is a great place to stay that is within easy walking distance of restaurants, the public pier, and the historic downtown district. We enjoyed our stay here.

My husband and I stayed here last weekend. As we told Dana, the proprietor, Cambridge is a hidden treasure that most of us zip by on the way to the shore. The town is very charming and very walkable. Dana was a great hostess and gave us lots of information about the area and about the history of the house. We stayed in the Hunt Room which was not fancy but was comfortable. Our friends stayed in the Garden Room which had a spacious balcony where we could overlook the garden and the waterway. My husband's only complaint was that the wifi signal was weak in our room. All in all it was a great weekend and we would go back again.

Nicely decorated B&B within walking distance of the harbor and of downtown. The Hunt Room is a good size and has a tiny bit of a water view. However, the electric fireplace is apparently only for show and gave off no heat at all, which meant the room got a little chilly overnight. Also, the room was a difficult place for a light sleeper to sleep - could hear people walking above, toilets flushing, and some noise from the (not very busy) street. Breakfast was good, and they accommodated dietary needs.

The electric fireplaces have the option of displaying the flame effect with or without heat. In this case, the heat switch was in the "off" position.

Great B&B. Friendly staff and convenient for our purpose

The Cambridge B&B was wonderful. The room was huge, the house beautiful. Dana was a pleasure to meet. The area was very laid back. If I visited the same place twice I would definately return to this B&B, but there are to many places to see. My eyes have been open to the B&B experiences, no more hotel rooms for me. The Cambridge House was in walking distance to the marina. It is on an old street clustered with several other older homes. It was nice to just walk around the neighborhood. I was surprised though when my husband and I walked into town and saw that many businesses were either posted as "For Sale", "For Rent" or even vacant - the poor state of our economy has hit here too. Don't waste your time with going to Snapper's restaurant (located behind the B & B) - walk the 4 blocks to Jimmie & Sooks to get good food. Overall, the Cambridge House was a pleasant experience, the owners (Dana and Jody) were wonderful and the house was clean and very comfortable.

The Cambridge House is a wonderful B&B! Our family booked the whole house for our daughter's wedding weekend in Cambridge. Jody and Dana were so welcoming and we felt like we were all at home roaming from room to room or gathering to eat or visit in the parlor. Dana even opened up her kitchen for a bridesmaids luncheon to be prepared and helped all throughout the event! The bride and her bridesmaids dressed in the large Dorchester room and we all walked down the street to the church ready to go. Breakfasts were delicious, rooms are huge with high ceilings, beds are comfortable, porches to enjoy the beautiful street view or water view out back are everywhere, we couldn't have made a better choice. If you are coming to Cambridge, this is THE place to stay!

We had a lovely stay---we very much enjoyed our time there and felt very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious as well. We hope to stay at Cambridge House again soon.

My husband and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend and what a wonderful time we had. The inn is located perfectly, close to the harbor and in a great neighborhood. We spend several hours walking around Cambridge. The inn is lovely, our room (the Hunt room) was gorgeous without being frilly or overdone and the remodeled bathroom was VERY nice. Jody and Dana are great; welcoming, available but never hovering. Even the weather was picture perfect-my husband and I agreed it was one of the nicest holidays we've spent traveling, and we've done quite a few.

I took my husband to Cambridge house for his birthday weekend and we had a fabulous time. The accomodations were cozy, and the food was fantastic. Jody and Dana even made dietary accomodations since my husband and I don't eat pork. We enjoyed going on a skipjack on Tilghman island at Jody's suggestion. We will definitely return, and with friends and family the next time.

This trip is an annual event for us along with several neighbors and friends, a true highlt that kicks off our christmas season! Jody, Dana, and Frankie were fantastic, and earn our highest recommendation!

Everything was nice and Jody and Dana were helpful in providing info about the town. Having stayed only at rustic B&Bs in Vermont, I was surprised to find amenities that you would find in modern hotels like cable TV and a telephone.

We booked 3 rooms for a girls weekend away. The inn keepers were wonderful recommending places to eat and telling us about the town. We spend several shopping and walking down the main street that is just a 5 minute walk from the inn. We slept great in the beautiful rooms and enjoyed the great breakfast they cooked for us each morning. There was always plenty to eat and each day there was something new. We can't wait to go back!

Stayed in the queen anne room ... and it was just like the pictures. Hosts were friendly and informative. Location was nice, walking distance to the boats and conveniently close to a number of restaurants. Overall, good value for the money and one of the nicer places we've stayed. That said, breakfast was a bit disappointing.

Please note that the innkeepers were out of town during this guest's stay and had a friend covering the inn. We apologize that the breakfast was not to the guest's liking. Our friend has covered for us before and we have always received wonderful comments about his cooking.

We stayed 2 nights on a warm Oct. weekend and it was a delight to see the German band play and at the downtown pub, use the hot tub and have such friendly innkeepers who invited us to join them in fun at the pub. Large and wonderful rooms with fireplace, a good breakfast and great location near the water to walk to. WE WILL RETURN!
