Cambridge House B&B

We enjoyed our night at the Cambridge House- the only suggestion we had would be to add a big fluffy blanket and a couple large floor pillows for getting comfy in front of the fire!

Jim and Marianne have a fantastic gem in a quaint town. We wanted to get away for a few days, but were met with exquisite food (our reservations at a top notch restaurant were perfect - thank you Jim!) both in the B&B as well as in town, the ideas for activities, and just relaxing with what seemed like good friends by the end of a 3 day trip. I highly reccommend Cambridge House B&B

Delightful B&B, in charming old house. Location is ideal for those wanting to explore Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and the many species of ducks congregated along Cambridge's riverfront drive. We have been coming here for many years and the new owners couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely B&B. I visited in the off season. It has a very homey feel, is outstandingly clean and well kept, the bed was very comfortable, and the location in Cambridge is outstanding. It is a little more formal (in terms of meal service) than I prefer, but the proprietors are extremely welcoming and friendly and prepared us an excellent breakfast, which we shared at a formal dining table with other guests.

We just recently came back from a nice stay at the Cambridge House. The hosts were very lovely. The location was perfect. My only complaint is that I had to ask for shampoo. In the website they clearly had that they provided shampoo. I packed all my other usual toiletries. They did provide it but I had to get dressed to answer the door.

The service, comfort, and cleanliness were top notch and the hosts' dining recommendations were terrific. A great B&B in a very charming town. I definitely plan to return to Cambridge House again!

I had never stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before and so I was absolutely thrilled that I had made the right decision to stay at the Cambridge House B & B while in Cambridge to celebrate my 40th High School reunion. Jim and Marianne were extremely welcoming and made me feel like part of their family, they gave me directions, showed me the beautiful room that I had reserved and it exceeded my expectations. The bed was so comfortable and the room excellent for the internet, water pressure, and TV reception. The breakfast was elegant and delicious and beautifully presented and I just felt as comfortable as sitting in my own kitchen but I was being waited on.... I would highly recommend Cambridge B & B and will definitely stay there every time I am in the area.

My husband and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary at the Cambridge House B&B. It was such a wonderful stay. Hosts Jim and Marianne, who are both lovely, left a little box of chocolates for us with a card on the bed. The house and room were comfortable and well appointed. We loved our second floor room that had its own door onto the back balcony, where we sipped wine in the evening and looked out at the trees and garden, bay in the distance. Breakfast was cooked up fresh every morning, and always began with a delicious fruit course. They also serve tea-time snacks for hungry guests. A great stay at a great B&B!

We were a little disappointed at first when the hot tub was out of commission...wishing they would've told us that since it is advertised on the website and it was a selling point for us. All the disappointment disappeared though with the kindness of the innkeepers. They were very personable and very kind. They were informative in offering suggestions for dining and activities. Made our anniversary weekend getaway very special. Breakfast was always very good. Nice town...quieter than St. Michael's with stuff to do but relaxing if you don't want to do much. We loved Cambridge House. We were looking for a quiet get-away and found it. There's not a lot to do in Cambridge, which was fine with us. We used the B&B to rest, read, sleep, and relax. The huge front porch gave us a choice of screened in or not screened in, and when the heat got intense, we retired to our beautiful, air conditioned room. The hosts know the area well and recommended great restaurants and things to do. We recommend it highly!

Jim and Marianne treated us like family and were very generous with their time and friendliness.

The hosts (including the dog), were very friendly but unobtrusive. We stayed two nights, and had a lovely room with wonderful breakfasts. The only minor issue was the bathroom was a little odd in shape - it had been added into the old building about 50 years ago, and was a very odd configuration. Everything was full size, but it was very cramped.

We drove up from Washington, D.C. for a weekend on the Eastern Shore and were absolutely satisfied by our experience at the Cambridge House B&B. From the attentiveness of Jim and Marianne, to the wonderful atmosphere in the house, I would recommend a stay at this B&B for anyone. They were very helpful in providing information on local dining as well. Even the dog, Max, was a great addition!

Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The service and kindness went above and beyond any expectations I had. This maybe typical of b and bs...we had a facial soap, but no body soap or shampoo provided so be sure to bring your own. I would return in a heartbeat. Great restaurants and places to walk after dinner...the river and cemetery were both nice for leisurely strolls. We went to St. Michaels for shopping less than an hour away.

Beautiful house in a perfect location- the waterfront is at the end of the block one way, and downtown is three blocks the other way.

Jim and Marianne were very sociable and interesting! Delightful people, beautiful place--the garden, colorful art on the walls, and the historic touches in the rooms and furniture gave our eyes a vacation everywhere we looked. There's a lot of love in this place, and we felt cared for. Our stay, though brief, was restful and transformative. Even the dog and cat were kind and thoughtful. We plan to return.

Stayed in town for a wedding and got to do some sightseeing. The hosts were very kind and gave great referrals for places to eat and drink and things to do in the area. Homemade breakfast was wonderful and the room was so comfortable! We would definitely stay here again.

The room was beautiful. The breakfast was over the top. The proprietors had a wealth of information about the area. Their dog Max was also pleasant company.

This is a gorgeous B&B very conveniently located to the historic downtown. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, which is important when you love wine like we do. Jim and Marianne were wonderful hosts with a fascinating Foreign Service background overseas, and they obviously have enjoyed settling down into this beautiful mansion and sharing their accumulated art and experiences with their guests. We wouldn't consider any other lodging when we return to Cambridge.

After an afternoon battling traffic and mobs in St. Michaels we headed a little further south and found ourselves here in Cambridge at this delightful inn with engaging hosts. They helped guide us to both restaurants in town and hiking outside of town. The House is well-appointed, has high ceilings, beautiful furnishings and exquisite Latin American art. Worthwhile weekend.

Don't let the 3 stars in my review fool you - I have high expectations of bed and breakfasts, and Cambridge House met them all. The location is perfect, within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants as well as a lovely park along the waterfront. The house itself is terrific, and the innkeepers have furnished it with a fascinating combination of period antique furniture combined with artwork from their time spent in Latin America. Two spacious porches - one screened and one not - are perfect places to relax. We stayed in the Governor's room downstairs, a large room with one of the most comfortable reading chairs I've ever sat in. The electric fire can be set to provide warmth or just a pretty display. The only downside was the noise when other guests were moving around upstairs at night. The breakfasts were delicious, the innkeepers warm and friendly, and their dog, Max, delightful. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

Our hosts, Jim and Maryanne, were friendly and helpful with tips on restaurants, museums, and other interesting sites in this very interesting area of The Eastern Shore of Maryland. They are enthusiastically restoring their historic B&B on the most historic street in Cambridge, easy walking distance from the yacht club and several fun restaurants. We found many things in common to chat about and would absolutely stay there again whenever we are in the area.

We stayed in the Dorchester room and had a great time. The room was clean and spacious; the bed comfy and the atmosphere relaxing. The hosts (Jim and Marianne) are very nice. They give you detailed information about the area and fully answer questions. The food is absolutely delicious (at the BnB and in nearby restaurants as well). We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Cambridge house and all in all, I think you get great value for your money!

We stayed at the Cambridge B & B for a impromptu reunion with relatives visitng from Europe. Our Host & Hostess, Jim & Maryann were wonderful and attentive. The B & B is conveniently located near several restaurants and the downtown area (walking distance).

This was a lovely little Inn. The Innkeepers were friendly and very helpful. We met the Inn's pets as we entered the Inn: a very sweet dog and cat. If you ask the Innkeepers, they will tell you some great stories about these charming animals. We walked to dinner at a nearby restaurant that the Innkeepers suggested and had a wonderful dinner. Breakfast the next morning was pancakes t with fruit and real Maple syrup.

I had the pleasure of staying at the wonderful Cambridge House B&B when I visited Cambridge for the first time in mid-November. The friendly innkeepers, Marianne and Jim, answered all my questions about the area and recommended a great place for dinner within walking distance. Their B&B is very clean, very comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious! I highly recommend!

My ratings are justly deserved. It was a very comfortable place to stay and I was made very welcome. I recommend without reservation.

Cambridge House B&B was everything we look for in a B&B experience. The innkeepers are warm and friendly, the food was excellent and the accomodations were lovely. We were within walking distance of the marina, shops, art galleries, museums and fine dining. We are adding Cambridge House to our favorites list and are planning a return trip in the new year.

the house overall and the room i stayed in were absolutely lovely, very well clean & well kept, thoughtful amenities above & beyond the call ~ Plus the owners Jim & Marianne (and their sweet dog Max and friendly cat) couldn't have been more friendly, gracious, helpful and interesting to talk to -- an unqualified pleasure!

Jim and his wife were super sweet. They made us a wonderful breakfast and after a 43 mile bike ride we came back to our room in which it was picked up nicely and the bed was made!!! We obviously weren't expecting that.. Almost felt like being home again with mom and dad! They made the stay very pleasant and we totally enjoyed max's company!!

The hotel is very lovely and impressive. The homemade breakfast is delicious. It is a cultural environment and we saw collections from different countries in South America. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and plan to come back some time in the future.

Spent a weekend at the Cambridge House and really enjoyed our stay. Jim and Marianne are wonderful people and made us extremely comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed during our entire stay. I would definitely go back and stay again! Thanks for a great weekend.

The Cambridge House is located in a very nice, historic area of the small town of Cambridge, MD. A short walk to the water was pleasurable. Walking to dinner a plus. The B&B is beautiful and includes a friendly dog and cat.

The owners are wonderful people who were very accomodating to all our needs. When I lost a button on an outfit they provided needle and thread so I could sew it back on! The rooms were clean and spacious and breakfast was excellent. Very nice B& B to stay for any vacation!

Despite the poor weather (lots and lots of rain), we had a lovely weekend at the Cambridge house B&B. The property itself is fantastic with lots of vintage touches (including the original tub in our bathroom). The owners were super accomidating and even left breakfast out at 5 a.m. for those of us who had an early morning race start. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

I just went up for a weekend and stayed in the Dorchester room. Jim and Marianne are very hospitable and extremely accommodating. Not only did we arrive late, we woke up late for breakfast one morning and they made us an excellent breakfast. We will definitely be returning next year.

Our wonderful weekend at the Cambridge House made us a fan of B & B's. Great location close to the marina, restaurants and historic downtown. Breakfast exceeded our expectations too!

We stayed at Cambridge House B&B this past week'd and absolutely loved the charm of the place. Jim is a wonderful host and made every possible attempt to make us comfortable. The property is well maintained and location is very idyllic. Its a short walk to the Long Wharf Marina and to downtown. The town has a community feeling to it. If you are looking for a weekend to relax and slow down from crazy city life, this is just town and place for you.

We were so pleased with our stay at Cambridge House. Although under new ownership, so they are still working out the kinks, this is the best location in Cambridge. Walk anywhere in town! The rooms were fresh and clean and very spacious. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The inn has obviously been well cared for. We will definitely stay again.

A home filled with warmth and style. Jim and Marianne were great hosts! I wish we could have a bed and breakfast like this one in every city that we travel to for the races!

Cambridge House has new owners who have a lovely touch, are considerate and friendly, and provide a comfortable and welcoming environment. House is half a block from the waterfront and a 5 minute walk to downtown Cambridge. Also only a 15 minute drive to Blackwater Wildlife refuge. We'll definitely return.

Our stay at Cambridge House B&B was perfect for our needs - a one night stopover en route to Virginia's Eastern Shore. The home is lovingly attended by the new owners who are very friendly and enthusiastic about their new venture. We wish them success!

The owners were very attentive but were not pushy. They did a great job making everyone feel welcome. This is a great place to stay that is within easy walking distance of restaurants, the public pier, and the historic downtown district. We enjoyed our stay here.
