4.0 out of 5My Stay At 4 East Madison Inn
May 01, 2013
The house is spectacular and surprising with an rather unassuming entrance. My room was very nice and the bathroom was adequate. Betty, the owner, was very accomodating and her breakfasts were great. The ambiance was the best thing. The mansion is very old and is furnished in the same period. You can just imagine yourself descending the beautiful staircase with a pretty dress of the periodl. I had some very nice conversations with Betty and the other guests.

4.0 out of 5great evening at 4 East Madison Inn
March 07, 2013
My husband and I stayed here as part of a special birthday getaway. We chose it because it's in walking distance of the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and in an overall nice neighborhood. The owner is wonderful, and upgraded our room just because it was a special occasion! The room (and the whole house really) is beautiful and grand. Best of all was the conversation over the breakfast table, facilitated by our lovely hostess. We would definitely stay here again, and most certainly recommend it to others.
5 out of 5Tesser Well!
March 06, 2013
4 East Madison is a magnificent inn where one enjoys the beauty and elegance of days gone by. Each room is decorated with fine antiques, lovely linens, needlepoint pillows, gracious lighting fixtures, comfortable chairs, and glorious beds. Add a marble fireplace, draperies, and writing desk! Amidst such finery there is a warm hospitality and the luxury of feeling right at home. Betty, the owner, is a Renaissance woman who is eager to share the history of the inn to a listening ear. Within walking distance one will find excellent restaurants, the Walters Gallery, dozens of historic landmarks. Tesser well into the past! You will love your stay. Diane G. Dennis

3.6 out of 5Convenient Baltimore Location
September 01, 2012
One should expect a 19th century home to be different from a modern hotel.. We had a slight problem finding the parking area (parking was included, unlike other facilities in the area) but the innkeeper, Betty, was available by cell phone to guide us. Some of the furniture in our room looked a bit worn but that was not a turn-off for this type if facility. The bathroom floor was rather worn and some fresh paint would have improved its appearance. We were offered breakfast at any time we wanted it on a Sunday morning and it was very good. The Inn is very close to a small park sorrounding Baltimore's Washington Monument with other historic buildings near by. A number of restaurants featuring various types of food were within eay walking
5 out of 5A Superb Visit

We stayed overnight & had an excellent experience. Betty, the innkeeper, gave us great advise on touring the inner harbor area. We will definitely stay there when we next visit Baltimore.
1.4 out of 5Dirty and sad
June 28, 2012
Do not stay at this home unless you don't mind sleeping in a dirty room. Mismatched sheets and towels, drab and probably dirty bedspread and shams, filthy rug beside the bed, no toilet paper in room (had to go into other rooms to find a roll). The owner talked about brides using the rooms before weddings -- I don't think even the bride of Frankenstein would be interested in staying in this place. Truly, it was just dirty and run down. The floor in our room had dust balls and a sock under the bed and a toenail...truly disgusting. The place should be condemned.
3.8 out of 5Delightful and very welcoming B&B
February 16, 2012
I stayed at the Inn during family weekend at MICA. Betty makes everyone feel at home and creates a friendly atmosphere in this charming 1850s house. The rooms are all different and each one has its own charm and feel. Double-glazed windows keep the street noise out. Breakfast is served family style at a communal table, although individual sitting is also available. Avoid the people who choose their own table. A very pleasant change from hotels. I highly recommend it.
