Charles Inn

We stayed New Years Day 2011. I have been staying at Bed and Breakfasts for over 20 years and never have I met a more congenial host or hostess. The couple that run the Charles Inn are absolutely delightful. You not only feel welcome, but more like a family member or long term friend. Their hospitality greatly exeeds normal expectations. That in dditional to the exceptional breakfast served each morning, makes this a must for those travelers spending the night or weekend in historic Annapolis.

The Inn was very peaceful, quaint & clean. The owners very attentive yet left us alone. Would definitely stay again.

July 1-2, 2011. What a marvelous place, from the well-tended, well-loved gardens to the well appointed guest rooms and the delightful owners! We were sooo in need of a quiet place and found both quiet in the B&B and nextdoor Acton Park, relaxation on the boat taxi to dinner, and maritime energy during our walks. It must be the best combination of quiet with quick access to the heart of historic and bustling Annapolis. We're already planning our next visit.

My wife and I stayed here celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary and loved it. The innkeepers are very nice and friendly, the location is fantastic and the rooms are really nice. They made our stay there very special with all the details that Paula and John make sure are taken care of. Don't hesitate to book a stay. This is the best one in Annapolis.

This was our first B&B experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our short but sweet getaway at The Charles Inn. Paula and John immediately made us feel at home with their charm and easygoing manner. The love they have put into making the property their own is apparent. The feather bed was AMAZING and the challah french toast was the best we've ever tasted! The short walk to downtown Annapolis is enjoyable with all the historic buildings to enjoy along the way. Thank you...we'll be back!

My husband and I stayed here for one night and really enjoyed our stay. The home is within walking distance of downtown Annapolis. Or you can take the water taxi right from the dock on their property. The room (we stayed in the Abbey) was beautiful. John and Paula were very hospitable and Paula's breakfast was delicious. You can tell they love what they do and love visiting with their guests. I highly recommend staying at the Charles Inn; you won't regret any minute of your stay!

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Charles Inn this past weekend and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The innkeepers, John and Paula, were so kind and hospitable and helped make our weekend extremely relaxing and fun. The Charles Inn is a quaint, charming inn, and the breakfast that Paula makes is fit for a gourmet restaurant. Their company and conversation are outstanding, and the rooms are so comfortable! The beds are fluffy and comfortable. This was the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed in. The backyard of the inn has the most beautiful landscape and atmosphere. Very romantic!!!

You will struggle to find something not to like about this place. Wonderful little B&B within easy walking distance to downtown Annapolis. Inn keepers are engaging, fun and long time Annapolitans. House is located in a quaint, historic part of town near the water. Breakfast each morning was good. And Tiffany (their Chinese Shar Pei) was incredibly welcoming.

My husband and I have had a very stressful year --- the passing of family members, two family pets, an elderly parent moving in with us as well as a seriously ill adult sister moving in with us. We seem to rarely have time to ourselves so The Charles Inn was perfect for us... just what we needed and an easy drive from our home in Forest Hill, MD. Our room was delightful, (especially the massive feather bed). John is a pleasure to just chat with with when we wanted and Paula's French toast is delicious. We're animal lovers so we loved Tiffany and the cats. We truly hope to come back in May (our wedding anniversary) so we can see the gardens in bloom for ourselves. The location of The Charles Inn makes for great walking in the crisp winter air through Annapolis, especially being so close to the water. It was a great way for us to start off a new year. Thank you for providing a wonderful stay!!!

Spent a saturday night in the Holly room. Everything was terrific. The room was large and clean with wonderful amenities. John and Paula were very friendly. Paula's special French toast was out of this world though overall breakfast was not as large as at other B&Bs we've enjoyed. Great location next to the water but a bit of a walk to Main street. Quiet street.

Not only are the rooms beautiful, and the beds extra comfortable, the garden is lovely, and recently featured a outdoor Dolby 5.1 surround sound speaker system installed by John himself! The property has a dock where the local water taxi can take you on a romantic ride into downtown Annapolis. It's also a short walk to town! We had a wonderful time, thank you!

My husband planned a great Valentines weeked here for me as a suprise. Love staying there and really enjoyed talking to Paula and John. We are planning to go back. We stayed in "The Abbey". So great. I'm allergic to cats and they totally understood that and had us switch rooms. I didn't realize they had animals at all besides Tiffany the dog. Who doesn't bark at all and is just so sweet. You don't even know she is around until you see her. Paula and John are just wonderful people. The food is sooooo awesome!!! You have to experience "The Charles Inn" at least once in your lifetime.

I took my wife there for Valentine's weekend. It was such a beautiful place. John and Paula were so wonderful. The pictures on this and other websites don't do the rooms justice. The food is so good as well. They really go out of there way to make you feel at home.

My husband and I have stayed at The Charles on several occassions. We have stayed in the little star, which has a fireplace and the abby. We have loved every stay adn feel this is the best bargain in Annapolis. You get a lot of romance, beauty and hospitality for what you pay for.
