We stayed with Alex in August 2013 for about 12 days and had an absolutely wonderful time. Alex looked after our every need - whether this was with a wonderfully prepared light breakfast, advice for dining out or sightseeing or a simple chat about Maltese life. He is an outstanding host, always prepared to help and exceptionally polite and friendly. The rooms were spotless clean, simple but tasteful interior and enough space to comfortably stay as a couple. The flat is situated a stone's throw away from Sliema's waterfront. Plenty of cafes, convenience stores and restaurants are nearby. About 10 minutes walk from the Sliema Ferry terminal, which will take you on day trips to Comino, Gozo or Sardinia. Also most sightseeing buses will have their stops near the Sliema Ferry terminal. Excellent public transport connection, yet the flat is in a quiet back alley, so absolutely no disturbances when you want to sleep in. If you would like to experience Maltese hospitality at its best, Alex is the right guy to contact. Best wishes from Germany.

Hello, We stayed in Malta from 19 to 29 march 2013. The apartment is particularly well situated in a quiet street in Sliema, close to the sea promenade and (important), close to boarding the ferry to Valletta (8 min) and boats for Harbour Cruises, near as departures of buses for excursions, Malta and Gozo, or Sicily, and bus stops. Close also to different restaurants, Maltese, Italian, Indian ... Our (very) friendly Maltese host picked us up at the airport and accompanied us back . The apartment itself is a really nice place to stay in. It's spacious, and clean. The guest rooms are big enough, you just have to share shower and convenients with the other room, Alexander is a very nice host, open, friendly and he also have with a good sense of humor . He really takes care of his guests to make them relax and be as at home. He prepared us delicious breakfasts every day, and with very good fresh fruit cocktails. We appreciated Alex's knowledge of the island and his suggestions for places where to eat, where to go, etc. He kindly let me use his computer to confirm our booking back to France and have it printed, thanks again, Alex. The two islans of Malta and Gozo, with more than 6000 years of history, are really rich in many churches, museums and nice and interesting places to see and visit. (you should take the "Multi Site Pass" to pay less for more visits in Malta and Gozo for the whole week !). Overall, our stay at Alex's was great. Very well placed, good hosting, right price and a taste of the Maltese warmth and vitality ! Jean-Edouard

Staying at Alex's place was absolutely amazing. I've never felt so much at home in any other hotel or b&b. Alex got up every morning to serve us a really breakfast and he did so in the best possible way. We were served a little surprise every day, along with your coffee and fruit salad, but every day there was either some cake of one kind or another, and always accompanied by freshly toasted bread. Really felt in heaven! All of this was topped up by Alex's great advice for visiting the attractions in Malta. We had a Lonelyplanet travel guide, but we ended up rarely using it because Alex had a much better knowledge of where to go to get all the nice views and food in Malta! If I had to describe this B&B in one word, I would use 'sublime'!

Alex was a great host. It's nice when you can rely on someone to pick you up from the airport and drop you off rather than dragging your luggage around, finding transportation, and searching for the accommodation/airport. He is very knowledgeable about Malta's history. We had the pleasure to accompany him for dinner where he would give us a quick tour of the area prior to settling down to eat. Seeing the fortifications in the evening will literally take your breath away...at least it did mine. His son also drove us around the island and took us to one of the beaches on his day off. They will readily give you recommendations on what to see and where to eat at various price points. One of the perks of staying there is the air conditioner. It's nice to return from a hot day of sight seeing to a cool room. A couple of towels were left on each bed. Each set were different colors so you wouldn't get them mixed up with your roommate's. For you ladies, another feature was that he had plenty of mirrors. Great when you are sharing your space with another girl so you don't have to fight for mirror space. Alex will also provide a nice breakfast. Each morning he would make us a parfait of yogurt and fresh fruit. Yum! You are welcome to eat a few things in the fridge but I loved the parfaits and didn't eat anything else there. Location was very ideal. We were able to walk to great restaurants. If you were interested in any of the tours, all you have to do is walk across the street and an array of various tour guides will have booths setup. Do your research and visit a few of the booths before buying. We bought from the first person we met. We lucked out with him, but you might want to see who will give you the best discount first.

I loved staying at Alex B&B He not only gave us a great service, he also took the time to show us around and learn about their history, the place and location was excellent! We were a block away from all the touristic point of meeting so weren't on a hurry to arrive at any place! If I come back to Malta I would definitively stay at Alex B&B.

Great location, bargain price, comfortable bed, generous host. I stayed with Alex for five nights when I first relocated to Malta. His insights, advice, and assistance were all very helpful as I was learning my way around. For the price point, the location could not be better. His large apartment is located one block from the Strand, right on the coast in Sliema, with great restaurants, beautiful seaside views, and many other attractions within minutes on foot. Alex picked me up when I arrived at the airport, and this was only the start of his hospitality. I had the pleasure of tasting his cooking for dinner a few times (for which I reimbursed him extra), and it must be said, the man can cook; I especially enjoyed his soups. He gave me fresh advice each evening about my plans to explore Malta, his maid did a good job with my laundry, and even his son was kind enough to drop me off once, when I needed a lift. Alex a born host, the sort of person you want to keep as family, after the visit is over. I highly recommend his B&B to anyone visiting Malta, and the price is perfect for students and anyone else on a budget.
