“Sinurambi” sits 400 meters above Kota Kinabalu and commands stunning views of the South China Sea, pristine tropical rain forest and Mount Kinabalu yet it is only 30 minutes from the heart of town. The house has been featured in architectural magazines throughout Asia and each of its en-suite bed rooms is beautifully appointed with individual balconies, many with four poster beds. Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool, snooker room and library or explore the 26 acres of private tropical gardens.Other complimentary amenities include, wi-fi, a laundry service and a well stocked mini bar in every room. The entrance to the Crocker Range National Rain Forest Reserve is only 100 meters from our door and well marked trails to lead to a water fall and pristine river teeming with fish. Nearby are a delightful Wild Life Park, Cultural Village, Day and Night markets, and quaint village shops. Transfers to and from Sinurambi are complimentary however guests are recommended to have their own rent-a-car.

Otters Cabin
Facing the South China Sea, this room is located next to the swimming pool. The otters cabin was the home of our tame otters until they returned to the wilderness. It was then converted into a delightful cottage. It has a large balcony and lounge area, double or twin beds and a very large bathroom.

From the balcony or your bed you have spectacular views as the sun rises from behind the mountain. The Batawi Art Deco chair and Javanese teak bedroom suite with colored glass inserts are quite unusual. All our other usual luxuries are there too.

There is a map on the web site. From the roundabout with the Kadazan hat in Donggongon go 800 meters south (direction Papar.) then turn left at the large "Sacred Heart Church" sign. In 5 kilometers, at the Church, turn right up the large gravel road marked Jln Ranger Station. Sinurambi is 5 kilometers on the right.

We are blessed with a marvelous maid and who cooks like an angel and an amazing variety of fresh produce sea food. Terry is at the fish dock every day choosing the evening's meal. Scallops, sea bass, tiger prawns, grouper, the choice is bewildering. The vegetable market is a tourist attraction in itself.
