A small family run resort uniquely situated on a private peninsula, providing an unsurpassed location with panoramic view of the Atlantic ocean and harbor. Spacious grounds offer privacy as well as numerous recreational activities. Accommodations are in the Maine House, a classic New England 'Cottage,' and modern multi-unit buildings. Most rooms have private decks with water views. Antiques of museum quality, warmth and charm are found throughout. The Dockside Guest Quarters is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Yankee Magazine's Travel Guide as an Editor's Pick - a must see in New England.
This is one of our most popular rooms- for good reason. This is a large sunny corner room on the second floor of our Maine House. There is a large deck with comfortable chairs, begging you to spend some time enjoying the view, directly out the harbor channel to the ocean. You can have the same great view from indie you room because of the large sliding glass door. King bed, upholstered chair, wicker couch, WIFI, cable TV, heat and A/C all make this room very cozy and comfortable. The bathroom has been completely updated yet retains the classic cast iron claw footed tub. Many guests send us outstanding sunrise pictures each year, taken from this deck!
Our largest accommodation, with similar units on 1st and 2nd floors and in each of our outer buildings. All suites have living rooms that open onto private decks with great water views. Comfortable porch furniture makes it easy to spend time enjoying the view. The living rooms have a pull-out sofa, dining table/chairs, TV and a comfortable chair. Some suites have gas fired fireplaces. The kitchen area is compact yet complete with everything you need. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven and all the utensils, pots/and and dishes. You won’t want to do too much cooking because our outstanding restaurant is close by. The bedroom has a queen bed, TV and plenty of closet space. These are great rooms for extended stays or if you just need a little extra space.
This is our mid-size room, queen bed in the main bed room and a twin bed in an alcove. Like most of our rooms these have private decks with a great water view. The twin bed in the alcove provides accommodations for a third person or extra space should you need it. Bathrooms have granite counter tops, tile floors and tub/showers. TV, Refrigerator, heat, A/C and WIFI make these rooms very comfortable.
Filled with plenty of amenities, these rooms feature a queen bed, comfortable chairs for reading and relaxing, plenty of room in dressers and closets for belongings, and baths with vanities and tub/showers combination. Depending upon which building you’re in, these rooms either offer access to a large waterfront balcony or a private balcony sporting great water views.
For romantic getaways or a distinctive touch, these rooms offer a queen bed and an in-room individually controlled gas fireplace. Additionally these rooms feature comfortable chairs for reading and relaxing, plenty of room in dressers and closets for belongings, and baths with oversized showers. Private balconies and spectacular water views add to the ambiance here.
If privacy and comfort in a quintessential Maine seacoast setting is what you are looking for, then this is the place for you. The Dockside is pleased to offer a special three bedroom, 2 ½ bath unit in our Captain’s Quarters building. This unit is ½ of the first floor and the entire second floor of a two unit Cape Cod style building, with extraordinary water views. There is also plenty of room outside to play and relax as the Captain’s Quarters is surrounded by lawns, gardens and water. The view out the front door is York Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. Out the back you see the Wheeler Wildlife

The value at Dockside is in the setting. The rooms are average and the breakfast is not as good as at some chain hotels. York is a charming place and the staff at Dockside were very nice, but overall the B&B did not live up to the pictures online.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, barring one factor. The inn, unlike others in the area, is on a beautiful and secluded point of land. Our suite was spotless, had very comfortable beds, a lovely living room and a deck with outstanding views of the inlet. We could often watch the various boats that frequented the channel before us. We loved it! The Continental Plus Breakfast was a feast for the eyes including a wide range of home baked breads, muffins and French toast, fresh fruit and yogurt plus poached eggs and sausages. All was served in the dining room of the Main House, complete with period antiques, nautical paintings and, of course, wonderful views of the water. Our one disappointing, in fact, surprising experience, was with the inn keeper herself. Her manner was less than the welcoming one we assumed would accompany the setting. She was officious, answering our inquiries but without a hint of warmth or interest. We interacted with several other staff members who were exemplary in their warmth, helpfulness and, best of all, cheerfulness. It was refreshing and reassuring to interact with each of them. We would certainly return to the inn; the many plusses outweighed the occasional discomfort of those few interactions.

This was another delightful visit to this beautiful and well-kept place. We always enjoy our stays at the Dockside.

The Dockside is a perfect place to relax and enjoy seeing the very best of the southern Maine coast without leaving your lawn chair. Birds and boats abound. The staff is friendly and competent and the guests we've meet reflect their satisfaction. We are happy to have found one of the best lodging experience of our many years of wandering along the eastern seaboard.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we will definitely be back again! It can be difficult to find a bed and breakfast that is also appropriate for our three year old. Patty and the rest of the staff here were very accommodating and welcoming.

Roasted Duckling with orange sauce
Not a meal you normally prepare at home because of the time it takes. The time we take make it worth it!! Roasted twice to remove the grease normally associated with duck. A cranberry stuffing with crisp skin gives the duck wonderful flavor.
