Candleshop Inn

My husband & I made a last minute reservation for a night & luckily they had availability. We got such a warm feeling just walking through the front door. The decor is lovely....the room was wonderful...the breakfast was fantastic...& healthy!! You just feel like family. We met some really nice guests. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to meet the owner Barbara...however she called the following morning at breakfast & spoke to each one of the guests. How caring & thoughtful was that? She couldn't be with us but wanted to make sure we were enjoying our stay. It was soooo relaxing. Can't wait to go back!

We have been going to the Candleshop Inn for around 13 years. Barbara always makes us feel like we are returning "home" with a welcome hug. We love all the rooms, the breakfast is yummy and it is a great B&B for families. It is a very short walk to the beach and the little town and restaurants. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

A group of us recently stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast over the July 4th weekend. It was truly a wonderful experience from beginning to end. My decision was made from the moment I spoke to the owner, Barbara, on the phone, while in a search for a getaway holiday weekend. You can feel her warmth and exhuberance literally through the phone. When we arrived, we were greeted by Barbara in the parking area behind the property. Big hugs and greetings for everyone!. Our room was quaint and decorated with lovely, simple adornments. The bed was blissfully comfortable. She has two women that work with her, assisting with the upkeep and breakfast each morning. The breakfast was beautiful and plentiful. We stayed three nights and the main entrée was different each day. Odessa told me "You can't serve people the same thing twice in a row, you need to keep it different.". She lived up to that for sure. From baked french toast, frittata, scrambled eggs, coffee cake, to smoked salmon, yogurt with all the fixin's, it’s a lovely way to start your day. The property has many "gathering areas" to "sit a spell", read, sip your morning coffee or just zen out. There is a Japanese garden area, a large front porch with rockers, as well as a huge deck with a table that sits about eight people. Parking is free, and it's a short, ten minute walk to downtown York Beach, Short Sands Beach. The B+B is spotless yet lived in. You feel like you are visiting your favorite family member who has the cool house near the beach!. We can't wait to return. I would think of any excuse to go back to the Candleshop!.

In choosing a B&B in order to destress from busy jobs, we settled on the Candleshop Inn - and we're glad we did! The rooms were very comfortable and clean, breakfasts were delicious, and the hospitality was unsurpassed.

We had a wonderful night in cozy rooms. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. Very nice staff!

on a recent USA holiday My wife and I found ourselves in York Beach Maine. We noticed the sign Candle Shop inn B & B and decided to have a look. within a minute of walking through the front door and being greeted by Odessa and Sharon the 2 lovely Jamican Ladies we felt comfortable. The inn is just exquisite and the Location to the town and beach excellent. we Met Barbara next morning at Breakfast and it was like we were with family. We did not want to leave. we can througholy recommend staying here and if we can make it back to that area one day we will surely be staying at the Candleshop inn. it wasa Highlight of our Holiday . Our bookclub went to the Candleshop Inn for a weekend retreat -- we felt like we were visiting family! They were so gracious and the Inn was lovely, quaint, and so comfortable. The food was, by far, the BEST I have ever had at a B&B.

This has got to be the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed at! The rooms are so nicely decorated made us you feel right at home. They even have Robes!! The cleanliness is outstanding. In the morning you well wake to a beautiful view of the ocean and the wonderful smell of breakfast cooking and it was outstanding!!! Prepared by two Jamician ladies that were super nice. Barbara the innkeeper and her staff was so warm and kind to everyone. There is a also a nice front and back porch. It was a very relaxing and peaceful getaway. We will definetly stay there again. The hospitality at this inn is wonderful. Everyone is greeted as if they are family arriving after a long separation! The breakfasts are delicious every day and you can either eat very healthy or have some goodies that are more like dessert. Eating both is best! The space is so airy and beautiful and everything is very clean. The staff couldn't be kinder or more helpful.

I love this place. All the rooms are so inviting. The view from the Mirror Room is beautiful. Everything is clean and fresh. Barbara and Michael are extremely welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful. The location is perfect - you can walk to town and to the beach. I would not want to stay anywhere else when I visit York.

our stay was excellent. our room was very spacious and impressively clean and the food was healthy and delicious. but the inn's best feature is it's close proximity to the beach, restaurants, shopping and a great cupcake place(all within walking distance). an added bonus is that the inn resides on a quiet street and has a beautiful meditation garden. we will definitely be staying there again.

loved this old house, wonderful breakfast cooked and served by friendly Jamaican ladies, can do some good porch sitting in the rocking chairs, good location, hope you like a hard bed though.

Excellent location, within walking steps from the beach. Very hospitable environment, fresh vegetarian breakfast, excellent free morning yoga class on the deck. Very clean, would definately recommend and would definately return!!!
