From the moment we pulled into the parking space steps from the door, I knew I was going to love this place. Right in the heart of Southwest Harbor, there are nice restaurants for any price range within walking distance. Beautiful views of the harbor from every room. The host and hostess immediately were friends we wanted to visit again. Southwest Harbor is the "quiet side" of the island. Just a fifteen minute car ride to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Bar Habor is busy, lots of shops and restaurants. Once you are done with the hustle and bustle, a short ride to this oasis. Breakfast got better everyday with two choices each day. We were smart, we each chose a different breakfast and shared! Portions were large and the fresh juice every morning was a wonderful treat. We have definately found our favorite vacation spot!

I picked this b/b for the gourmet bfast and was not disappointed. There was less to do in the town that I thought though. Unless your into hiking and biking dont go to sw harbor. Owners were very helpful and lots of hike info there. Owners live on lower level and its like you have the house to yourself. You can click on the fireplace and cozy up to the great selection of coffee table books on local history. We biked to Bass Light house for 2 hrs, hardly any cars. Ate at lobster pound by the coast guard station a good walk away. $9.95/lb. great clam strips.

A very nice place to stay

The Kingsleigh Inn was a nice place to stay in Southwest Harbor. The Innkeepers were very helpful and made our stay quite nice. The breakfasts were picture perfect and delicious.

Absolutely beautiful house inside & out. The fairly new innkeepers have done a fantastic job remodeling & decorating. They are both extremely charming. The attention to every small detail was amazing, from the common areas to the bathroom. The room was large, pillowtop mattress, feather bedspread, wine & chocolates in the room. Oh the fresh roses in every room. Common areas had a real fire going, brownies, hot beverages, etc. The gourmet breakfast was large & excellent. The outside porch even had a hammock on it. Too bad the house wasn't directly on the water, it should be. That would make it perfect.

The Kingsleigh Inn is a charming B & B located in the lovely town of Southwest Harbor. (If you are looking for a quiet, relaxed environment while at Acadia National Park, avoid Bar Harbor and stay in Southwest Harbor!!). The location is terrific, and the general ambiance of the inn is very appealing. We had a small room on the east side of the inn overlooking the harbor. The room had a nice balcony where we spent an hour each morning drinking the excellent coffee served in the inn. Dana and Greg were excellent hosts. The inn deserves its outstanding reputation for the quality of the breakfasts that Dana makes each day (Greg confesses that he just serves!) The stuffed french toast with chocolate drizzled on top was exquisite. This was our second stay at the inn and, if we return to Acadia National Park again, we will certainly stay here.
