The Island House
The Island House has always offered old-fashioned hospitality and a pleasant retreat for its many guests. We continue that tradition in our newly built B and B located in a quiet wooded setting nearby. Furnishings from Charlie's and Ann's childhood years in Southwest Harbor and Asia blend comfortably with the Maine simplicity of the house. There are two guest rooms with a common room for dining and relaxation. There is a spacious loft efficiency attached to the main house with its own entrance and stepout balcony. A picnic table and garden chairs under the evergreens offer a serene and quiet setting.

From Bangor, Maine, drive Route 1A to Ellsworth, following signs for Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. From Ellsworth follow the signs for Route 3 East approximately 8 miles to the junction of Route 3 and Route 102. Bear right on 102 for about 10 miles following the signs down the hill into Southwest Harbor. Pass the cove on the left at the bottom of the hill and turn right onto the Seal Cove Road. Drive 1/2 miles to the top of the hill and turn left onto Freeman Ridge Road. We are located 4/10 mile on the right at number 36. - Nearest major airport: Bangor, ME (BGR)

- Cancellations:
If cancellation is made at least two weeks prior to stay, the deposit less $20 will be returned. If cancellation occurs less than two weeks prior, one half of the deposit will be refunded unless the room is re-rented for the entire stay.
