A friendly, welcoming, relaxed & happy place. The hosts are all about assuring each guest gets the best of service. The rooms are comfortable, the common areas are tasteful and well appointed. The porches , pool, hot tub & honor bar are all pluses. The breakfast is tailored to each guest and is wonderful. Walking distance to the best restaurant on the island. We will return!

We drove into Southwest Harbor with no place to stay. We toured the town looking for a B&B and we found this place. The owners made us feel at home, letting us have "the run of the place". We were surprised at the trustworthiness of them with their open bar. Anything you wanted you could have. Just leave them a note telling them what you had and they'll add it to your bill upon checkout. We plan to return in July and am looking forward to the pool and hot tub this time around.

My cousins and I visited Southwest harbor the week before halloween. I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before and was slightly nervous. I had the most wonderful experience at lindenwood! We stayed in the poolside bungalow, which was perfect for the 3 of us. We were fortunate enough to have breakfast with Jim the owner...what a wonderful person. We had such a great talk, such pleasant conversation. They were so helpful in giving us a map of Acadianational park and the things that were a must see on our one day adventure there. If I ever get a chance to visit again I can guarantee I will stay at lindenwood again! Thanks so much for the great time!

All the reviews are right on -- great service, gracious hosts, absolutely delicious breakfasts (ever mindful of special diet). We particularly enjoyed having the pool and whirlpool after a day of hiking, biking and kayaking --all within easy access of the inn -- as well as the "open bar." We stayed in the newly renovated house annex next door to the main house. Our room had its own porch and partial view of the bay. The decor was simple, but very clean and comfortable. It was nice having access to a full kitchen if we'd wanted to use it (maybe next time), but we were too busy checking out all the restaurants within walking distance. Also within walking distance was the ferry to Cranberry Island, a bike rental business, and a kayak center for some of the best guided tours. It was our first visit to the Bar Harbor area, but we were so glad we'd been directed to this Inn in Southwest Harbor--we'd go back in a minute!
